    how long were you deleted before deciding to add head studs? I'm interested in the raceme but don't want to blow the head gasket. I was only intending on running it on 30hp so I don't have to switch before pulling my 19k toy hauler. Good video, by the way. Thanks

      Almost 6 years between 2 trucks running the same programmer. Just don’t drive it like you stole it on the hottest tune and you will be fine. Use common sense.

    Did you install new injector feeds tubes or use the old ones?

  • @johnnybags87
    @johnnybags87 2 года назад +1

    Any update on these? It's been about 10 months since install, how are they doing? What mods are you running with these? Boost? Turbo? Any details would be awesome. I'm looking into these head Studs but isn't a lot of info so any you could provide would be awesome.

    • @MKSPerformanceOffroad
      @MKSPerformanceOffroad  2 года назад +1

      These studs have been great, no issues so far. Stock turbo and boost with tuning, generally run 120-150hp. Test data should be available on Xotic Performance website as well which is what I used to compare to other brand studs. No major mods like pumps, injectors or intakes at the moment so most everything is stock.

    says only lubricate bottom side of washers and you have to use your thread chaser to clean your threads out.

    • @MKSPerformanceOffroad
      @MKSPerformanceOffroad  Год назад

      I was reading direct from included instructions. Won’t hurt lubricating a little extra on them washers. There may be some variations on instructions depending on time frame you purchased. I think mine didn’t come with some things that later kits did from what I heard when buddies of mine ordered the same kit. Using bottom tap is recommended to clean threads out.

    Is an extra 200 or 300 worth cheating out on . For head studs compared to arp 425 i feel bad going 425 over 625

    • @MKSPerformanceOffroad
      @MKSPerformanceOffroad  3 года назад +5

      I wouldnt say your cheating out on these or 425s instead of 625. The difference is definitely more than 2-300 when your talking arp 425 to 625. I thought these were great quality at a great price for the product and ARP isn’t the only manufacturer in the game. Exotic performance had the testing performed on these and they tested out to 230 or 240k psi. If you want to stick with ARP have at it, they make great products but this is simply another brand to choose from.

      I think these xotic's are great for the average weekend warrior running a 120hp tune and a mild turbo upgrade and maybe some slightly larger injectors. I'm running them on my '19. If I decide to go more radical with mods then ARP 625's will go in but for most, these are great. And a good value. Now I wouldn't buy xotic's higher end ones because then the price difference isn't worth the questions going off in your head.

    Just curious what is the copper coil you're not brewing shine under there are you?

    • @MKSPerformanceOffroad
      @MKSPerformanceOffroad  2 года назад

      It is coiled to dissipate heat before it gets to the exhaust back pressure sensor.

      Cools exhaust gas before it gets to the pressure sensor installed on the end. Coils dissipate heat.

    • @Itsa_Mea
      @Itsa_Mea 3 года назад

      @Luke W it's common practice with ARP's on a Cummins is why I asked. Maybe you're not familiar but when I say "hot", it's only about 180 degrees. Not nearly enough to hurt anything but enough for things to settle in. When doing so you usually get another 1/4 turn or less out of it until it's back to spec.
