AMAZING VIDEO !! I am pregnant with my first child. I an 26 weeks pregnant and was just told I have gestational diabetes. This videos has helped ease my nerves and anxiety. I am currently writing down a grocery list that will help me lower my blood sugar levels. I will probably have more questions in the coming weeks. Thank you again!!

When I had gestational diabetes I ended up one pound lighter than I was before I got pregnant once my baby was born. Even though I had trouble gaining weight my baby was born healthy at 6lbs 9oz. My diabetes was diet controlled however my doctor kept recommending that I eat more carbs to gain weight and consequently require insulin to keep my blood sugar normal. I refused and I’m happy I did.

Hi Heather! Thank you so much for making this video. When I first diagnosed I was so upset. It seemed almost undoable. I had a whole day of training with the diabetologist and a nutritionist but they made it seem so technical and so restrictive. Your explanation is so much easier to understand. I feel like I can actually do this. Thank you so so much! God bless you!

Thank you so much for the video.. I just got diagnosed with gestational diabetes and I'm 29wks. It's been overwhelming because I've also never been on a diet before so reading labels, figuring out what I can and can't eat, eating 6 small meals a day and also just trying to understand this whole concept has been super hard for me. Your video was very informative.

Yes I also had gestational diabetes when I had my daughter and I was told that women that carry large babies tend to get this and after my daughter was born the hospital put her in an incubator for 10 hours after birth to make sure she wasn’t diabetic...she was a large baby. 9 pounds 7 ounces....and odd enough this type of diabetes just goes away after birth.

Thanks for posting this. I've just been diagnosed with gestational diabetes and I feel so bad. I have slept so badly with this pregnancy and one of the side effects has been that I've had a heightened sweet tooth. I was blaming myself but it's good to know that it's more hormonal than anything else.

A Catholic Mom's Life I’m actually now wondering if I’ve been wrongly diagnosed as my numbers are always fine, based on my testing. Going to see the doctor again this week so I guess I will know then. 🤞🤞🤞 would so like to not have to worry about the daily testing. If you get the chance, do pop by my channel! Would love to hear your feedback. X

When did you eat your night time snack, and when did you take your blood sugar in the a.m.? I always have high fasting numbers. And I feel like it's because I wait too long in between my night snack and breakfast. Thanks! I know this post is old, but I am pregnant with my 4th and want to get a head stary incas I have it for the 3rd time. First time was controlled second time I had to take meds. I would love to have it controlled again!

Great video, just remember you cannot have as much fat as you want. There are healthy and unhealthy fats. Excessive eating of unhealthy fats makes your body break down sugars much slower and can cause prolonged periods of elevated sugars. Stick to your healthy fats such as avocado, nuts or seeds, olive oil, etc. Avoid high quantities of butter, sour cream, cream cheese, shortening, gravy. Everything in moderation.

I've noticed that anything made from white flour makes my blood sugar much higher. I've also noticed watching these videos that people are staying below 140 but I was told below 120. I have horrible lows as well as highs and thats eating what they told me. Its rough, I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

I was told to be below 120 after 2 hrs. as well - instead of 140 after 1hr and I'm finding it - this is my first week - nearly impossible to get that low in the time frame - without 30+ minutes of exercise after every single meal - which is about nearly impossible to do ... 1.5 hrs of exercise a day regularly.

I have had a gestational diabetes 4 times and they all say different things about this some say start the hour when you take your last bit and some say start the timer on your first bit. which to me starting the timer on your first bit doesn't make because we all eat at different paces some people it takes them almost an hour to eat a meal... then you take your blood sugar right after they eat doesn't really make sense to me. But I have asked and they all say different things I actually have GD right now and wait until my last bit and things have gone good.

I did a more recent video about that. When you eat the night before it should be an hour before Ed and most of your food should e protein. The protein helps stabilize the sugars so try less carbs more fat and proteins.

Sadly as much as I’d like to agree with you with everything that was said in this video I can’t. I’m going through gestational diabetes right now and I’ve done absolutely everything to ensure that I control my glucose levels. The only number that’s out of my control is my fasting number no matter what I eat at night or if I don’t eat or if I eat and wake up exactly 8 hours later to test my number is always high. I’ve also noticed that no matter if I eat one meal every single day my number will be different every single day. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a bad number but it will always be a consistent number. I finally understand that Everywoman is different and not Everywoman processes for the same.

I know you posted this comment months ago , just adding for someone that might see it like I just did .. 59 is not good. That’s too low. Shouldn’t be less than 70 to stay safe. Im sure you’re fine now again just adding for someone else that might see this. I have GD , I was feeling light headed the other day and when I checked my blood sugar it was only at 65. Not good. Goal is between 140-70. Never more , never less.
