when people reject the offers, oxford gets in touch with the next best applicant and gives them a short notice offer... so hes not wasting anyone elses place btw
Yep, I've got the same problem. Love Edinburgh and am trying to figure what to do now! Glad you said about the languages and going abroad; that's exactly what is swaying me (and the city's great).
Even though I find your mature decision really impressive, I feel very sorry for those who got rejected. One of them might actually have desired to study at ox
know you posted this a while ago but i’m in the same position right now. chose oxford as my firm through little more than peer pressure when my insurance uni has a much better course and feels like the right place for me. just reassured me a lot to know that i’m not the only one who isn’t swayed by oxford just because of its prestige!! thanks so much for makin this video x
Oxford offer extensive language classes completely free of charge and colleges have a lot of funding for travel either non-academic or academic; my college paid for me to go skiing, as well as do a tour of Spain
Haha, this is hilarious. I'm in the same position - stuck between Oxford and Imperial. I prefer London too but the graduate salary at oxford is a lot higher. Oh well, good luck!!
Aamna Irfan I decided that as long as I can still get to where I want to in life afterwards, I should go for where I think I'll have the best experience🔆🔆🔆 I'm sure you'll choose right:)
Just after I was rejected, I felt a little annoyed at those who rejected their offers because they'd put so much work into their application and someone else who wanted more who had just missed the offer could've got an offer? But it's people's own choice, and I had just been rejected so I felt annoyed and undermined etc. But obviously my thoughts have changed, but respect to you. It is genuinely a stressful period of your life going there, I'd know as my sister is at Oxford.
parents : which college ? which college is it ? yeah which college ?
him : those poor 26 people !

This isn't what happens unfortunately - the college will just fill his place from people who were given open offers without college allocation

Why apply in the first place if ur only going to turn the offer down ?
Pretentious sense of self worth?
Because it was my second choice! Might not have got in anywhere else!

And for me afterwards it was between Durham and UCL but idk something about Durham just stuck out more...
Joseph K but by rejecting the offer they are opening the place to someone who only just missed it?
UCL!!! That's my school
