Dear mam , comparing to previous years ,everything has been changing day by day, especially in JCI hospital and there is no nursing assistant also,according to the JCI protocol we need to do all things as you told us like paper work,patient care, everything.

You are correct .Outside India nurses get good respect from patients and doctors , Off course salary much better .I have worked in Manipal hospital Bangalore , too much stress and work load . It was really slavery .No one understand and respect nurses hard work and responsibility .

Always a Patient is in a vulnerable state in front of you and you have a duty to even smile by using nice words to them regardless of your work load with number of patients or less salary ! If you give comfort & respect to them, then patients will slowly realise that you are so professional and definitely you will receive the full respect from them too.
So, first you give respect and after take respect from them . Hope you got the point.

I agree with most statements you are making.I can write a book about the way my parents were treated in private hospitals. Family members were responsible for all the personal care.when they were in ICU no visitor allowed with them. ONLY wait out side to buy the supplies they need.Nurses keep enquiring about the bill,which shouldn't be part of their job.when on regular ward any thing needed done,you have to to go look for them.students were assigned to do wound dressing ,some had no clue ,Insulin injection was given without checking glucose levels thus sending my father to hypoglycemia
One time my father wanted to spit,nobody gave him anything to spit in,then he spat on the floor. All of a sudden the nurses put mask on his face and tied his hands.no compassion was shown.when they draw blood,without telling what is going to be done.,they grab the hand and start poking.Belelieve me I can keep writing more terrible experiences
Regardless I love nurses ,they deserve living wage.Hospitals are getting wealthy on the account of the workers.my friends show some sympathy and empathy. Ask patients how they feel,touch them ,smile at them,they will half way better already

Again Kunjunjamma Thomas, you can't expect the nurses or Doctors in India to behave or work the same way like they do in western countries. There is a huge cultural difference and work environment is totally different. Most of the people in India doesn't say 'thank you' as they feel it's formal. Again here in western countries every professional be it a nurse, doctor or physio who has direct patient contact is willing to provide personal care. This is not the case in India. Again, in our culture we tend to look after our family because of dignity issues, here it's different. I am sorry that you were not comfortable to take care of your parents . So you can't expect the exact same thing everywhere you go.

Ayhra dedicated ആയി ചെയ്യുന്നു. കേരളത്തിൽ ഇതൊന്നും ചെയ്യുന്നില്ലാരിക്കും. ദൈവാനുഗ്രഹത്താൽ UK ക്ക് പോകാൻ തയ്യാറാവുന്നു. നിങ്ങളെ പോലുള്ളവരെ ദൈവം അനുഗ്രഹിക്കട്ടെ.
