    2013 636 shut off on the way to work. Blown 15amp fuse under driver seat next to the 30amp main fuse. Disconnected all wiring and started to plug stuff in to see when fuse would blow again. Turns out my fuel pump was trashed. Luckily I saw this video months before and had already ordered this kit for a bad weather day. It took my about an hour to swap everything out. If you keep making tech videos I'll keep watching them. Thanks bud, you just saved me time and $.

    Awesome video. My new to me 07 zx6r would not get above 6000 rpms since i bought it a few weeks ago (didnt realize cause I was taking it easy as I haven't rode in 8 years). Bought the quantum pump kit, cleaned out all the rust, now she screams and this video made install sooooo easy. Thanks mang.

    I got so excited when you revved it after installing the quantum, I saw your other video in the fuel pump so that made me look up some and I found quantum, but saw the price so I was gonna go for a replacement, you just helped me out a lot lol im gonna go ahead an save for the quantum I know I have to get spark plugs and new ignition coils, my bike seems like its loosing power, my 1st 2nd and 3rd gear its like hard to speed up my rpms will fly sounds like im redlining the gear but im not

      The main problem with these bikes is not the fuel pump it self. It’s the filter and what most people don’t know is that there is an internal filter inside of the section that the regulator goes into that can’t be removed. That’s the main clogged part, buying a new pump and filter will make the bike run much better but the main problem is the internal filter and external filter. And that’s what weakens the pump every time. New pumps just cover up the actual problem 😂

      Still running strong for me ... knock on wood. There aren’t many alternative options besides hundreds on a new pump. But I recommend buying fuel filters/screens and replacing them every now n then to keep things flowing clean

    Hello Mr. TonyStunts1, I would like to know how this aftermarket fuel pump has/is holding up. Has it been reliable, any problems with it you could share (if any at all). I find myself in your spot, my 04 Ninja wont rev past 6-8k RPM and whem the throttle is held at a steady position the revs just cut out and spike all of the sudden.
    Thanks!!!

    • @TonyStunts1
      @TonyStunts1  4 года назад +1

      So far so good on my end however I have not rebuilt a 2003-2004 X636 pump. From what I hear they are sealed pumps that cannot be cleaned

      @@TonyStunts1
      Hi Mr. TonyStunts1. Yes, as a matter of fact the 03-04 pumps have a sealed filter, meaning that just to replace it, a new OEM pump is needed. But I managed to fix it, took it apart and cleaned it. Turned out to be a clogged pump due to a rusty 🤢🤮 tank. Now she revs to Redline😁.
      And thanks for getting back to me Mr. TonyStunts1!!!

    I did this and now my bike doesn’t start, I put everything back together correctly in the right place and still nothing, bike has been down for almost a month now trying to figure out the issue I’ve replaced pretty much the whole fuel system and cleaning and resealing the tank now and hoping it’ll start but the bike started up before I changed the pump so I’m clueless as to why it doesn’t start now, changed spark plugs also it has spark and would start with starter fluid for like 5-10 seconds but on its own nope doesn’t start and I’m so frustrated

    • @evoxjordan6330
      @evoxjordan6330 2 года назад

      @Eli Skinner i replaced the whole fuel system besides main injectors and tank was rusty so cleaned that out too and bike started again, there was a little oring missing so i put one in there

    On Kawasaki's it's usually not the pump itself but those internal filters and passages get all clogged with gunk. They're really hard to get to and clean out, it's a terrible design. With that said, Mitsubishi electronics are not known for quality.

    • @TonyStunts1
      @TonyStunts1  5 лет назад

      Typically yeah! I have another video on pump maintenance and cleaning but in my case the pump wasn’t building enough pressure. Even after clearing passages with cleaners, new rings, new filters.. I could have bench tested, pressure, power all that but for an $80 fix I’d rather just refresh it. Just hoping this pump is reliable
