Falken WildPeak R/T Hybrid Tires with Black Rhino Arsenal Wheels alignment on 3rd Gen Toyota Tacoma

75Built puts new wheels and 285’s on the 3rd Gen Tacoma! Previously on this truck we've completed the body chop, and the Old Man Emu 3 inch lift and UAC upgrades. We've chosen Black Rhino Arsenal wheels with a military style to them, and we are pairing them with the new Falken Wildpeak R/T’s. The R/T is the new Rugged Terrain hybrid tire from Falken designed to be the ultimate hybrid terrain tread pattern. This version of the popular Wildpeak tire has the tenacious off-road traction of an M/T while retaining the tread life and stability expected from an A/T. It should deliver an ideal combination of traction, durability, and longevity, and is rated at 50,000 miles.
The tires we've been running are the Falken Rubitrek A/T’s and they made it 46,000 miles with no problems so we'll definitely stick with Falken. These new Wildpeak R/T's are 285/75/17’s and they measure in at 34.1” tire...a lot more weight and tread and supposedly longer life.
We chose Discount Tire for mounting and balancing for lifetime of the tires. Anytime you upgrade to larger tires or new upper control arms, you should be getting a brand new alignment completed so everything is within spec.
Discount Tire can do general alignments on standard cars, but you'll have to locate a shop specific shop as not every location has the laser alignment equipment. This location tried their best, but in the end they were only able to bring the Camber and Toe into spec. The Caster had to be left just outside recommended spec. Because of this we decided to take alignment to the pros at Off Road Warehouse. When it comes to modified vehicles, it’s best to take it to a specialized shop for off road vehicles. Off Road Warehouse tuned the alignment with much more precision, caster now within spec and they even grinded off some extra rubbing we found at the front wheel wells.
