Great job on the video, really. Lots of good info. That thing looks great! Love the looks all around. I'll still always come to you for the reel info! Hehe!
Great review! Agree your assessment at 17:19, here in Australia all shimanos in smaller sizes are deep spools as well, not necessary imo. I am waiting until the day Shimano Australia bring out shallow spool models, but not holding my breath..
I guess the concept of using shallow spool has been relatively recent so whenever there's a change in a well established industry, it take time for people to get comfortable... shimano and daiwa are playing it safe but I think it's coming. I will probably make some videos talking about deep and shallow spool hopefully to get people thinking more.... thanks for the comment!
Nice review! I own 2 of the 2017 Exsence's C3000MHG and absolutely love them for my power spinning fishing. They're exactly 7.0 oz, they balance with all my bass rods, smooth as silk, strong/smooth drag and blacked out look. I actually prefer them over my Stella's. For finesse, I use one of my several Vanquish's. My 2020 Vanfords got a Geary feeling after 1 year.
Subbed! Great info on the reels! I’ve been spending too much on Ali express, eBay Japan, and the Japanese sites. The prices are going up though😢 get them now before the exchange gets worse!
Trust me I can't wait to do it. I even made a short on my channel of the new exceler. Need to find time for it and should be able to in the next 3 videos on my channel. Stay tuned.
Does it have the same drivetrain gears in ultegra tho? The main selling point of ultegra is the drivetrain inside it is the same with vanquish. So if they have the same feel then I would say its better. It looks nicer too.
I've shopped from digitaka and 3 other Japanese shops and they are about similar pricing. Cost of shipping some are free some cost more. And there's always about 10% duty + some Fedex fee for Canada which is annoying. They all use Fedex. But at the end of the day buying from Japan is still much cheaper when the currency exchange rate is low.
@@TTangOutdoors IDK. You can, but I rather spend a bit extra money on line than be worried about getting spooled by a big fish or a fish I wasn't targeting.
It's a saltwater reel, designed for fishing seabass. It has Shimano's shielded anti-corrosion bearings (SARB) in it and quick fire drag setting to help handle the fish in the ocean currents. 150 yards of line is more than enough for seabass.

Keep your eyes on stores on Aliexpress. Or any Japanese stores, either way you're paying much lower than Canadian retail. Also pay attention to daily currency conversion if you wanna buy from Japan

Yes but this is the BB. This is not an excense. This is a

Thanks!! I love the variety of what the global market offers. Mid July was the peak of the best exchange rate.... its hasn't gone too too bad yet lol.
Great informative video! Subbed!
I tried to do my best! Thanks for the comment and sub! Will bring more gear reviews for sure.

So the C3000 has a 2500 body? And the 3000 is a true 3000?
You bet the 3000 actually has a bigger body than C3000
Do you suggest the 3000 or c3000 for sea bass and Mediterranean barracuda up to 3kg more less?Line will be pe0.8
I would suggest 3000 or even 4000. PE0.8 is great since this reel doesn't have a deep spool.
@@TTangOutdoors so what is the use of the c3000?
@@shorejiggerchris3364 just smaller size. Can be used for freshwater
@@TTangOutdoors thanks..I think regular 3000 model is better .Larger gears and more power I think
For sure more power! Also heavier

You bet, same drive train as the ultegra and vanford. Same gut
I've been eyeing this and the exsence xr, looks great
I think they are comparable to Ultegra and Vanford with limited sizing from 3000 up
@danielwutfisho go for XR. BB is not an Essence.
@@linekerkb Just got the 22 Stella FK instead, had a twinpower and vanquish but sold those.
Bro Exsence BB 24 has small size 2000S or 2500S, thanks beo
Not a S spool depth but M for medium. 2500 size

I’ve got the same pair of cuda snippers on my kayak 😂
They work!
A shallow spool is a deal breaker for us salt water fishermen.
You bet. So I'm not quite sure why Japan label this reel as a sea bass reel. Sea bass are powerful salt water fish too.

Looks like vanquish spool 😆
I think that's what Shimano is going for. Similar cuts but the spool is much heavier than on the Vanquish.
@@TTangOutdoors how much weight for this reel overall?
7.9oz
BB is not worth it. I had it. The XR is a better reel
You can almost buy 2 BB with 1 XR. BB is good for the price. But yeah XR is better, but basically a Vanford with spool support bearing.
