I really appreciate this video. I'm a full-time developer working on a political science degree on the side and I want to work in policy. I learned a lot. Appreciate what you do. Thanks!
Public speaking was a requirement of my degree and maybe it was that experience that makes me aware of annoying habits. Please count the number of times you say “ahh or umm” becoming aware is the first step to correcting and improving your presentation!
With SNAP being under the purview of the farm bill (and as we know, SNAP limits the kind of fresh foods that recipients can purchase...), I feel like there's an opportunity to create a farm-to-table program for local communities that skips the middle man of the grocery store and provides fresher food to SNAP recipients, and in the process, maybe farmers can get paid more for their product and everyone wins. Like another branch of the farm bill---one branch that subsidizes "go bigger", and one that focuses on smaller local farms direct to SNAP recipients.
I'm interested to know how this information is shared with farmers, local growers, native american tribes, fellow advocates in addition to our localized efforts in the Albuquerque area.
I’m seriously worried! GTThompsin is one of the 147 goofballs that voted against the election results . The only way we have to protect hungry people esp kids is to change the power dynamics and get rid of republican control. They have gerrymandered themselves into power to the point where they have chosen the voters instead of the voters empowering their leaders.

What about education subsidies for farmers? Is that a thing that exists and/or is part of the farm bill?

How concerned are you about today's republican party controlling the House Agriculture committee for the farm bill for the next 5 years?
