"Build Talk" about this speaker and a sound test video coming over the next few weeks! Thanks everyone for watching!
Good job. =)
What kind of wood on front panel?
Love the style of your videos, great job. when you do the build talk video can you go over your process for the crossover for the tweeter. Thanks!
Are you offering build plans for this speaker?
Hi Kirby! Thanks for much for this video. I have a question that I've tried to find a good answer to but I've been unable to so far. I was wondering if you could maybe explain how to match an amplifier board with a speaker driver so that they are being used to their full potential. It would be really helpful if you answer that as this is is for a school project that I really need to get done. Thank you!
Kirby Meets Audio.
you can call it ocd, but those screws protruding from the speakers drove me crazy... lol BEAUTIFUL WORK!
This is a cool concept. It shows that a person can have fun building and learning without getting stressed about it. I dig the music in the forefront and the shop sounds in the background of the video. That's a cool edit man.👍🏻
Yes! Was hoping for a basic tool build. You have inspired me to start making my own speakers and this vid will help lots. Love your channel!
Thanks Brett! I'm stoked your gonna start building. Send me some photos of what you come up with! Thanks for watching!
Absolutely will, and you are welcome sir!
May be worth adding a couple of passive radiators to the back? Would greatly help the bass response with such a small enclosure.
I always love seeing these videos in my subscription feed. Awesome stuff, dude!
Thanks for always watching James!
You have been our inspiration. Our build following your channel is posted here.
You're Back Again! So stoked to see you again! Wish you would post more, but love what you do post sir! Very inspiring!
+Michael Duddy Thanks for watching!
So glad to see your back at at it! Very few things helps me unwind better after work.
How are the speakers wired? Is there a crossover for the tweeter? Thanks for linking the parts.
You have some many skills and techniques, that, at the end of the day, is nice to see you doing everything, loving these videos, dude, always some high end quality final product!
One tip. Try using rounded screws for attaching the speakers it would look way better then the flat top screws.
How to you fix the aux cord buzzing/feedback with that amp? I have the KAB-230 and it has the feedback, just ground the fourth pin (one next to the empty slot). Nice video as well!
This is so pristine. Calming and impressive to watch. Almost makes me think that I can maybe build a speaker XD
+Sean Yoko You can! Thanks for watching!
I have the plans for the Elder Bluetooth speaker. That's gonna be my first project. Only thing is I'm stuck with regards to the cross-over. But I'm sure I'll figure it out. So excited to get started. Have a good one! Thanks for taking the time to reply to me!
Nice looking build! I love the chicken-head knob ... much better than toggle buttons.
Wait up Jared!! There is a ring on your hand! Did you and Jen get married? Congratulations!! (Great video by the way, as always. Loved the music too!)
Hey Kirby! Could you please tell me, is this project include a 3-way passive crossover? Also awesome looks! Keep up the good work!
Awesome budget build, excited for the build talk video (my favorite). Keep the great work coming Kirby!
Sweet. As always, very instructive video.
Thank you!
New to such things, but how does the tweeter get a signal if the amp is a 2x30W board?
Thank you friend, once again another excellent video, your passion and dedication to what you do is truly inspiring.
Great looking speaker, especially for one out of a fence picket!
Olá Kirby, gosto muito da maneira vazes as colunas Bluetooth uma pergunta te posso encomendar essa coluna???, obrigado.
What did apply as a finish?
Looks great! **SUBSCRIBED**
Will you have plans for this one? When will the plans for the DIY walnut speaker be ready? Those have been listed as a pre-order for months! Love your videos and plans. Looking forward to getting those built.
thanks for posting. glad to see some correctly mounted speakers, coming from your shop. hope that continues. if there's no grill, some nicer mounting screws would be good. cheers
very nice and simple ... keep it up! its refreshing to watch.
Very nice, thanks
Good job, awesome diy! Respect from Russia🙄
Im wondering: how did you wire up the tweeter? Those 2 woofers are in stereo, but is the tweeter too? I dont undersand. Like if you play AC/DC thunderstruk, will the guitar at the beginning be played on the tweeter too?
Probably the tweeter is in parallel with one of the woofers, but i didn't saw any crossover... probably used caps and inductors tho
Hum I can't really imagine how you do that, I really want kirby to respond...
I think the tweeter is in parallel with one woofer and one high pass capacitor as crossover. So you'll have the tweeter only on one channel
There is no "good" way do make a design like that work with a stereo amp. Unless your using a mono amp or bridging the amp, Which you cannot do with those Datyon KAB amp boards [per the manufacturer].
How did you run the single tweeter with stereo amp and speakers Kirby?
Great video as always man! Speaker looks great keep it up!
Thank you Alex!
No Problem!
Just saw the video and liked it. Can you show a rear or 360 view of your builds when complete.
Awesome..keep in coming Kirby! and also try to do some demo video I think everybody on this channel will thank you!
+Edrick Mendez Build talk and sound test videos coming over the next few weeks! Thanks for watching!
Kirby Meets Audio awesome Kirby and thanks!
Love the vid, the music gave a very nice mood. Keep up the good work👌
Você é um gênio Kirby!!! Suas ideias são incríveis! 🔊✌Abraço!
Kirby, that's awesome!
Hey Kirby, Great vid! Can you do something that integrates a Chromecast Audio? A DIY "Sonos" system if you will?
Love the video Kirby! Great as always.
Is it ok to use a jigsaw instead of the circular saw?
I think the wood screws you use for the speaker mounting would look nicer if they were flat based rather than tapered.
Nice good work if i would made them they wouldn't look so nice
Greetings from Austria
You should try! It's easier than you think. Thanks for watching!
Hey, cool project! I would love to build a speaker myself and this one seems to be perfect for beginers, like me. But I can't find build plans for these are there going to be plans in the near future?
Thank you for your videos, they look great!
Kirb's pumping that iron!
nice build i might build this one as i could afford it :)
your videos are just stunning!
Nice speaker good work man
Thanks!
Kirby never demons the sound. Do they sound right?
So I plan on build a speaker with 2 4 inch drivers and 2 3/4 inch tweeters and I was wondering if I should build my own crossover or buy one off parts express
Dude! Thanks u
Really nice work, man!
Thanks for watching!
No bass ports so I think there'll be less bass than one may expect. Also it seems like the tweeter is in parallel to only one of the woofers. I wonder whether that'll cause enough difference in volume output from left and right woofer?
Great video as usual Kirby. Was that a cedar fence piece you used?
Boombox é outro nível 👏👏👏👏👏
How do you wire up the speakers for these types of builds where there's 3 speakers on a 2-channel amp? Do you wire up 2 drivers together on the same crossover circuit and then one on the other channel by itself? Will that not cause the single driver to be louder than the pair? I'm planning to do a similar build where I have 2 tweeters and a sub/woofer, but I have this question when designing the crossover.
a single tweeter for a stereo system!!! how did wire it???
8:47 seems like its only working on the right side? :/
Nice DIY
Looks great except I would have used socket head screws instead of those drywall screws to hold the drivers in.
is there any way i could show you my bluetooth builds, i need help on the wood work, also you can see the 3 18650's running the amp at 12v
Hi
How are you?
I like your video.
Which camera you used for this video?
What is the punching tool you use before you drill holes?
Logan Vanderbeck it's called a "center punch". You can get them on amazon or locally at Home Depot.
what kind of wood did you use
Nice man
Pretty cool
Yay kirby
Kirby, what kind of wood is this?
Great job, man!
Cheers!
what kind of a high pass did you use for the tweeter?
Kirby, you da man! Nice
Build is great as always :D
You should make a bass test
Minimal tool? Ok... Not sure too many viewers would have those power tools laying around. ;) Glue and a hacksaw maybe...
+KirbyMeetsAudio hey bro, how did you get that tweeter to work. I want to make this speaker with the 2x 50w amp but idk what to do about the tweeter since you didn't wire it up, used a crossover or sealed the box with sealer. I'm confused pls help me.
M4D would like to know that too
What software tools are used to develop the cross over?
Hey, ive got the exact same board and also 2 woofers (4 ohms) + 1 tweeter (8ohms). How did you Connect those speakers? I mean, powering the tweeter for only one channel does not make sense :/
wil the 15w amp be loud enough for this build?
How is the sound quality in such a small speaker box?
well , nice box.
Nice work
what is your condenser did you use ?
nice! excelent!
Another great video! Check your links, the woofer link goes to the Parts Express login page.
Updated. Thanks for pointing that out! And for watching!
Sounds
How did you calculate box volume for this project?
I too would like to know this.
Yuriy Baron aren't there online calculators for that?
TehClide not sure if it matters too much when it's smaller speakers. The calculators I've seen are for ported subs.
Look for WinISD
Kurt Massa ported subs, and sealed in closures are not very difficult to calculate. Anything dealing with floor standing speakers is what i have trouble with.
May be I'm wrong, but the blade of circular saw doesn't seem to be installed right or it rotates opposite direction.
What in-ears do you use?
Nice10000x
fasten the speakers to beautiful, decorative screws. Your black screws all kind of spoil. In addition, they are twisted crookedly.
DSA90-8 made in TAIWAN I can even buy it in TAIWAN ???
what is the dimension of your wood box ?
Really like your build videos... treat to eyes but screws on the speakers were killer. :-(
which wood is that
Your saw blade was backwards?
justlooking813 i thought that too!
justlooking813 OR, Mabye you are backwards? Hmm
looks right to me
The blade is just backwards compatible :^)
coping saw cuts on the pull stroke...with the teeth facing the handle...
this is a 50w speaker right?
It strikes me how you always build rather small sized speakers. I wonder how you would design a tall floor standing speaker.
Can someone explain what a tweeter does?
You used hot glue on a panel that will be pressed against. Has it failed yet? Why not epoxy?
can you make guitar amp?
Watch the video 4 time..... I can make the frame, but the internal wire connections is going from top of my head. I really wanna make one for myself. Help.
kirby, I missed you.
and I missed you!
Interesting, but hardly minimal tools. You could have made the whole thing with the jigsaw.
