You have longer con rod's but the same stroke. You only get a longer stroke with a different crank and a longer throw. The longer con rod will change the rod to crank ratio hence the shorter pistons.

Wow! You definitely need to build a frame to handle all that!And brace the swing arm. So ausome!! Been a air head for many years. I even had R100 with Krauser heads. This excites me very much! Bravo!
The bike will get a full S1000RR front end & brakes, so big stopping power! Since it's one of the last R100's it has the bigger/beefier swingarm, time will tell how it will handle the power. Love the R's as well, have a plan for a future R build. Krauser heads are sick btw!

Put the sealant on the "wet" side, that way you don't get oil possibly weeping out the sump bolts. It looks like you ran sealant around the " outside of the bolts.
To be honest I always did it like that and never had any issues with it. I'll take it into account with the next one though 👍🏼

Where do you buy your Cerakote, can’t find it in same size containers as you have, only much smaller like for airbrush use. Really nice work 👍🏻, the cleaning and masking process is a pain I always hate when doing this process.
I buy it from PBN Coatings GmbH (Cerakote & Prismatic Powders Distributor). Painting is just 5% of the work, the rest is all prep indeed. Glad I've got this sorted, next up the frame so I can make it into a roller again!

No these are only for the R100, but there are other kits to upgrade a R80 to R100 spec
Why did you put the camshaft in the deep freeze for assembly? I have assembled 4 engines myself and never had to do so.
I'll rather be safe than sorry. Also because this isn't my personal build

Any particular reason for not painting the whole engine with Cerakote?
For applying Cerakote you need to blast the surface for a good adhesion. That's not possible for the engine casing unless you'll take everything out the engine fist like the crank etc. Also I like the shade of the 2k paint a bit more than the Cerakote

What is the Balance factor when these news parts are installed. Obviousley with less piston & rod weights the engine may require a rebalance.
All the Siebenrock parts are already balanced and good to go. I'm pretty sure they've got their stuff sorted out after selling these kits as plug and play. They've proven it
I've owned an R75/5, R90/6 and an R100RS. My v7 Moto Guzzi will easily spank em all.
They aren't speed rockets, but they are cool AF 😁
@@corner.custom I loved all the boxers I owned. The experience of owning these BMW's is why I bought the v7iii Moto Guzzi. It's like a modern boxer but Italian. Air cooled, push rods, shaft drive but with Brembo disc brakes, Marzochi suspension, 6 spd transmission, fuel injection, antilock brakes, traction control, led lights, tubeless radials, ultra reliable, simple to repa3. It's what BMW should be making.
@@kevinnielsen1356 Sounds like a modern day BMW indeed! Also a 6th gear would be great. In so many cases I'm already in the highest gear and still the desire to go up a gear haha
@@corner.custom Try a V7iii, you will fall in love. 6th gear is for 60mph and up. Super smooth at 75

I recommend to use Wank cam followers for you next rebuild of an R engine.
Never heard of those before. What's the advantages of the Wank cam followers?
@ they are lighter and avoid the issues that some batches of BMW cam followers have with hardening issues. Hardening issues of cam followers are frequent from the 90s onwards til today.
