- @RoamingLost approached us to help with his latest rig, and we jumped at the opportunity! This Tradesman trim Ram 3500 started like any other cummins powered 3500 long bed ram, but it’s going to be the foundation of a VERY capable vehicle!
In phase one, we installed a @carlisuspension 3.25” pintop system with Carli’s torsion sway bar, true dual high/low mount steering stabilizers, radius arms, and more. We also installed our 17” CJC Exclusive Raceline Avenger wheels with 37/13.5/17 Toyo MT tires.
Follow along as we build the foundation for an overland camper rig!

Man, wheels, tires and stance makes a huge difference!! Makes me want a long bed 3500. LOL
If you are on the fence on getting a Carli Suspension kit on your truck, get it. You won't be disappointed. Spend the money Once and get something nothing else on the market can deliver. Cody and Cole at cjc are wizards when it comes to knowledge on what kit would fit your needs.
They helped me make my dream truck. I'll never go anywhere else.
Night and day difference. Great stuff guys! Excited for this series.
Awesome video guys ! That’s a really nice setup 👍🏻
These trucks really do look like skateboards from the factory with their tiny wheels and tires. Cool series, thanks.
Especially the Dually trucks!
Tradesmen trim looks great
Tradesmen trim and throw parts at it, saves you heaps on insurance and aftermarket is better in most cases than factory.
Looks awesome!!
Look forward as always
Nice this truck has a Carli sway bar, wish I had the one I ordered from you!
SO SICK
Just dropped a 4 wheel pop camper on my 19 2500 on stock suspension and you are right. Super BOATY feeling. Would like this setup done on my truck!
With a max payload around 1,600-1,800 pounds on most diesel crew Ram 2500 trucks, there's really no way to safely carry a camper! Ram has forced all those customers into the 3500 platform by prioritizing unloaded ride over capacity in the 2500 coil rear spring trucks.
@@CJCOffRoad you have said this before, actually you made me a believer a few months ago. But you really hit nail on head with the unloaded ride priority.
Great project! Also, drinking game: pound a beverage every time you hear the word “basically.” 😂
We'd be passed out by 2 minutes in haha
@@CJCOffRoad 😂
Love the transformation the lift and tires have made. Question; are the tires hitting the sway bar? if yes, What offset will correct that?
This specific setup is a bit extreme since it’s a +20 offset wheel with w 13.5” Toyo MT. Those tires actually measure over 14” wide. If you want to run that tire, we’d recommend about a +12 offset to avoid the sway bar, and more body trimming. With everything else, these wheels work perfectly!
Nice 👍
LONG BED! 💪
Some of us could be interested in a tuned shock package and suspension kit to handle this weight. Will that be something you sell in the future? Asking for the slide in camper folks.
The issue is that the rear weight changes dramatically with campers, so the rear shock tuning and leaf pack really should be custom catered to the setup. That said, this is something we do all the time so we're set up to take care of it!
So are the sway bars in finally? Ordered mine 9-10 months ago with the backcountry kit, have been told twice they're still on backorder.
Right now they are running a 100-120 day lead time from the date of order due to extreme spring steel shortages going on.
Can you please post more videos of 3500 dually version with dominator suspension, thank you
We've actually never build a 3500 dually Dominator so we'll need a volunteer! We've done plenty of 3500 single rear wheel dominators though!
@@CJCOffRoadwhat are your thoughts on performance for a big truck like that?
@@CJCOffRoad I got the truck, do I get a big discount if I volunteer 🤣🤣
We’ll make a video on it!
Love your vids guys! I have a 22 Ram 2500 on order n i want to order 35s ahead of time but not sure if itll fit through my garage door. Can anyone let me know overall height on a 5th Gen 2500 stock w 35s? Thanks
With 35s you might just barely get through a 7 foot door, but with 37s these trucks are a little over 7 feet at the roof.
ideal setup is 6.7L + G56+Dual stage clutch
Did you have to do any body trimming with this set up or can you run 35-37 tires with this kit without any trimming
You ALWAYS need fender liner and a little pinch weld trimming for 37 but none with 35s.
@@CJCOffRoad thanks I wanna put these same exact rims on my 2022 limited 3500 but I don’t like the idea of trimming on my 90k truck. So I’ll run these with 35s
It’s really nothing noticeable! It’s all inside the fender and 90% plastic that can be replaced!
i want this for my 2022 tradesman HEMI CREW CAB, do you have a rough estimate on how much id be looking at for carli 3.25 pintop system, 37/13.5/18, 18 inch wheels? this is my first ram and im new to off-roading. thanks
If you want a hemi get a powerwagon ! if not get a Cummins!
It kinda depends on options, but we have all the pricing shown on our website and we’re happy to help you pick what you do/don’t need if you need help! www.cjcoffroad.com
Can This Build be applied for Hotshot Haulers for Max weight?
Sure! Just keep your factory rear leaf springs or do a custom set!
I go overland everyday in my 97 civic and my cement truck......
The trucks you guys built are right up my alley. I love small wheel, big tire combos. Nice to see guys out there building nice, but tasteful looking trucks instead of all the stanced out pavement princess trucks on low pros 🤮
Guys carli Pintop with aev fenders and 40s. Let's see it
More power wagon please
Are the wheels on this build hub centric?
No. With 8 lug trucks, all aftermarket wheels are going to be lug centric. You can run hub centric rings if you'd like, but there's no reason since everything is designed to be lug centric on these trucks.
I need this lift for my 2011 ram 3500
www.cjcoffroad.com/collections/10-13-carli-systems
How long do these shocks typically last ?
Usually 50-80k with normal usage! With lots of hard off road miles you’ll want to service them around 20-30k. Service is quite easy though!
@@CJCOffRoad service a shock? Maybe Maybe video of that !! If there isn’t already! Thank you for the info
There’s lots of videos online, but Kings are a fully serviceable shock! Just change out the seals and fluid when it’s time, then keep enjoying them!
so the 3.25 pintop kit with raceline 17's on 37x13.5's DOES NOT clear everything 100% according to the video at 4:26. There is clear tire contact with the sway bar. It would be even worse with a stock sway bar.
It clears everything but a Toyo MT which is over 14” wide. +20 works best though if you want to avoid body trimming. Push the wheel out further to avoid the sway bar at full lock and you’re into the body. It’s just one of the nuances of running that particular tire which is wider than the stated width.
If you ran the 37x12.5s would that make any difference?
@@nataynlemieux5509 Yep! It's just these 13.5 Toyo MTs that are an issue on the +20 to +27 wheels. Even a 13.5 Toyo RT would be fine!
Whats the cost of this build minus the wheels?

Where's part 2? I can't find it...

Thank you, @@CJCOffRoad!
🤤
Did this customer ever opt for an axle truss?
He decided against it, since he has a 4,000 pound camper. High speed off road isn't really in the cards!
@CJCOffRoad I understand that. What would you say the limitations are on the axle before needing a truss setup?
Most guys around here in Texas stick to jeeps and yotas for going through the trails. So just looking for Insight, thanks for the reply 👍
We'd recommend a truss for anyone that's going to see hard bottom outs. It's VERY easy to bend these axles, and all it takes is one hard bottom! If that's in the cards for you, a truss is a lot cheaper than a new axle.
10k in parts?
Yes….an EASY $10k in parts.
No castle nut and cotter pin on the front axle anymore eh. I'm gonna keep my 2011 3500 forever
Love your instagram
All you need now is a
Winning lottery ticket to build one just like it!
Really wish it wasn’t a long bed 🤢🤮🤮
I love the long bed look, I feel like it looks better than a normal size truck when lifted, but to each their own.
@@Elogyz normally a short bed fan but with 5th gens the long beds on 37s look perfect
Trucks also made for a camper btw, it needs to be a longbed for more space
