I believe that your setup is about the best I’ve seen to date, very well thought out and very capable for about every terrain. Enjoyed the walkthrough.
You did a diff cover in the front and not the back? Between the extra capacity, cooling a and servicabilty, rear all the way. My seals were leaking, ran low of fluid and almost trashed rear end (200k miles f250). The the Bars additive and cleaning out my magnetic plugs regularly, I avoided a 5k read diff rebuild. I added AT205 with the Bars for added protection and and slow my diff keak. My 6.0 for is known for oil leaks....3 bottles, leak down to a very small drip on the driveway...hope this helps.
Great vid nice truck and bike. Just replied to your 1290 walk around . I own the same bike and the 2017 ram 3500 ..I got a lot of mods as well have to say tks now I have to spend more money on my rigs due to this channel..hahaha keep em coming
Ever Found yourself wishing for a front locker? I’ve got an open diff front end 2003, same exact build and suspension as yours. Wondering if I should throw an elocker in before my next big trip.
I’d love to have a front locker. There have definitely been a few times I really wish I had it. But if I’m honest with myself, it’s not a rock crawler, and I can get through most things the way it is with a winch if I really need it. One day I’ll get a locker, but it’s not high on the list at this point.
@@EpicAdventuresOffroad gotcha, I’ve got some trails planned in Utah and Idaho that have me a bit worried. I’ve got the factory lsd in the rear but the power wagon e locker fits in these 9.25 AAMs up front. May throw it in for piece of mind. I won’t have others with me to pull me out
@@coltonramsey1574 yeah if you can find one of those that’s a great route. 👌 update back here how that works out if you do it. Might pick your brain a bit on the process.
@@EpicAdventuresOffroad will do, just going to do some more research on how the front end will handle it. I have the free spin conversion, 2014+ power steering pump conversion, and the mopar 6 bolt box/bad axe brace but just worried about all that tension when steering off-road locked front and 9k lb truck
That truck and setup is cherry! I’ve got a 2015 I’d love to outfit like that. You’ve mentioned camping with the family - what’s the sleeping arrangement when you bring family along? I have a family of four but don’t know if a setup like yours is doable.
Thank you! The platform underneath is where the two boys will sleep with a child sized air mattress, and the wife and I sleep up in the top. Works pretty well for us. Wont work when the boys get bigger though, so they'll get a ground tent like I had all my life growing up lol.
Yep, when you get your tunes changed from auto to manual it will get that all working again. Just have to make sure you have the neutral safety switch wired in too. The ECM needs to see that your clutch is pushed in to allow the transfer case to shift.
I did indeed. I mentioned in there that I had just swapped my transmission from an auto to a manual, and they’re slightly different lengths, so I was getting the other one lengthened.
Hey - nice low down on your truck. I've got a 2004.5 that I'm building up. :) how are you liking your Octane front bumper? Would you order it again knowing what you know now? And install was straight forward?
Hey, sorry for the late response. I love that bumper and would still highly recommend it. Install was not bad at all, would be nice to have two people though. Little rough lining everything up on your own and making sure the headlight gap is correct on both sides, etc... But yes, great bumper!
Hi! I'm curious what wattage and type of solar panels you have with your set up? I have a truck allot like yours, but went a different direction with my camper build... mostly due to money... like not having any... lol! Always cool to see someone else's setup! Thanks for the video!
Great set up, everything very well thought out. I am interested in your tool kit, I’m trying to set up one from my 2500 Diesel. What do you carry with you?
I'll try to throw a video together of the tool kit that I have. There's a decent couple clips of it in my Shasta trinity trip when I had to use a few things to patch my radiator.
Great equipped rig. I have a 2019 Ram 2500 I'm running the same front bumper and winch and am currently installing the controller to under the backseat. Did your controller fit in the bumper? Your fairlead looks lower than mine. Just curious
@@EpicAdventuresOffroad How tight are we talking? I have the same truck, bumper, and winch but the winch won't fit by like 1/8 of an inch. Did you have to make a tiny bit of room?
Hey, thanks for watching. The 4th gen mirrors are some amazon special that I found, wired them into the running lights. The rifle is a Sig Cross. I'd love to make more content about that type of thing, but RUclips is weird about that type of thing. We'll see what happens in the future.
How do you like running the trails in a mamual vs an automatic. Im getting a 6 speed 04 3500 that im gonna be building up. Just curious how difficult it was
Honestly haven't had a chance to get out there on the trails too much with the manual yet, but I'm planning to head out this weekend, so hopefully I'll get a good shake down on the manual while doing some wheeling.
How is the G56 6 Speed Manual the worst transmission? In my opinion, its one of the better manuals for a light duty pickup out there. Did you think it was still a 68Rfe? Because I mention in there that I did the swap 2 weeks before that video was made lol.
What is that tailgate cover?
Man I completely forgot that one. That is a mountain hatch tailgate cover. Heres a link to their website - mountainhatch.org/collections/tailgates

For sure goals!!
Thank you for the kind words!
New Idaho plate and vids from California. Make the switch bro. You’re almost there! 😂
please don't encourage him!!!
@@BeeGreen1 He has the plate. It’s a done deal. 😆 We need to be more concerned with the folks from the Seattle area. North Idaho knows!
Long live the cummins ! Love seeing diesel builds.
Wish you would have made a video of the G56 swap!
I dig that rig. Great utility. Function over form , utility and efficiency abound
Thank you! that is definitely what I'm shooting for with this build.
You deserve a bigger following with all the perfection and use your rig gets
That’s very kind! Thanks for watching!
This is the dream setup my man love everything about this rig
Thank you!
Sweet build! Great job!

Nice setup, appreciate you sharing your truck.

Wonderful, glad to see updates again!!!

The front cover was replaced because a buddy needed the stocker and wanted to trade me that Mag Hytec for it. Screamin deal for me!

Cool rig. what brand tail lights are those, and are you happy with them?
Thank you! The tail lights are spec-d. I’ve been really happy with them so far. No issues to speak of.
I have that same bumper and winch, did you have to use different wires to get the winch set up?
No sir, tight fit but it worked out good.

There’s a great page on Facebook for all things AT Camper related. Just search on there. Used campers go up for sale on there all the time.
