- The Robinsons are reunited with Verda, and she's more human than ever. Too bad the Celestial Department Stores brass doesn't see it that way: she's fleeing from another android they've sent to disassemble her. His name is IDAK: Instant Destroyer And Killer!

I love this episode - Lost in Space tried at the beginning to be a semi-legit sci fi series, but as the writers starting using more and more drugs it just became a surreal, fun free-for-all. Super entertaining nonsense - cherished part of my childhood!
I detested Dr Smith. I always sided with Don. I love the Robot. The women were written as strong and intelligent in the first season.
Not drugs, it was Batman that did it. They had to compete with Batman that appeared on a competing network in the same timeslot and decided the best way to do it was to up the camp. didn't work.
The person playing IDAK is Don Matheson. He later became Mark in Land of the Giants.
28:18 That stunt impresses me.
Looks like no doubles were used. 💥
2:52 - 3:31 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣 looooove the robot.
Maureen: John, what does IDAK stand for? John: I don't actually know Darling. Maureen: Well John, wouldn't that be IDAKD? John: Huh?
(Nathan) Actually, that's very good!
Funny !
I remember this episode! Love to watch Lost In Space reruns!
When I get a kick out of it is the fact that it’s sucking up this humongous man but his cape doesn’t go up into the air😂
The IDAK robots look like versions of Superman without emotions.
2:22. Bad writing? Of course! But the show lasted three years and Irwin Allen and everyone else earned a living. 2:36. "Miserable bucket of bolts" is not alliterative. Dr. Smith could not have possibly said it. I think it was "Bumbling bucket of bolts. 2:45. Every time I see someone with their arms out like that I think of Schmeerskahoven. I didn't even know what that was two weeks ago, and now I cannot get it off my mind. 3:25. Another alien cannot squeeze water out of a rock. Just like Thor in "Space Vikings". 4:27. Don't tell anyone about the alien. Just like "His Majesty Smith". 5:00. Penny picks a flower and hears a moaning sound. Wait until "The Great Vegetable Rebellion", an episode where this happens a lot. 5:16. Hairstyle by Elsa Lanchester. And her earrings are so heavy that she can barely lift her head. 5:36. I read all about it in The Wall Street Journal. 7:28. Good shot of Jonathan Harris' stuntman. 12:06. I just noticed her eyebrows. She is definitely from Vulcan. Too bad the ears don't match. 12:25. The Jupiter II landing gear functions as the seats. 13:27. Dr. Smith has a leather briefcase. Definitely part of the equipment that Alpha Control packed into the Jupiter II before liftoff. 18:19. She took his pointer, remember? 18:47. I cannot believe that I have heard the word "proxy" twice in this video. 23:20. Remember the Keeper's staff was broken by a rock launched from a slingshot? When you said "Android Vacuum", Stargazer woke up. She slept through all the other crazy stuff in this episode.
If Mr Irvong hates the writing so much. why on earth does he bother at all? I'm happy just to enjoy the nonsense of the show. I love d it and still do. There is more of Mr Irving complaining
n each clip than the episode. It's really irritating. 😞
The magic of Irwin Allen
This is about the time where John Williams’ AMAZING soundtrack could not even make this crap exciting!
Wow! A Giant vacuum cleaner!! Even more awesome than the free rolling slot machine!!
More useful, too.
The actor who played the first IDAK also played Mark Wilson from Land Of The Giants.
The Mask killed me. Thank you and like
This is my fav episode as a kid and now just saw on dvd last night love idak V1 and love Verda she was so compassionate and beautiful no wonder she was a vogue model in the 1940s stunning beauty. The music in this is so great it really gets your emotions rolling up and down. All the bright colours so great too technicolour on roids !!!
This was an episode where Bill Mumy's comedic chops really shone.
And at 22:20 Idak #2 karate chops some pieces off the Robot's plastic collar!
The only thing Doctor Smith can show you about judo is how to be useless at judo.
Hey, Penny's potential hiding place for Verda is the cave of Mr. Nobody.
Great job
IDAK was also the Tauron father on "The Sky is Falling."
Mark from land of the giants
David Irving At the point 18:15 The Robot is almost as hostile to Verda as Caroline was to Alison Carr in Sons and Daughters. Caroline was my favourite character in Sons and Daughters. Sons and Daughters was an Australian TV show. Alison Carr was a female version of Doctor SMITH.
The super android isn't particularly in a bad mood - except of course for the whole "Crush! Kill! Destroy!" thing.
You could always tell when this episode ran, because the next day all of the kids at my elementary school would be saying "Crush / Kill / Destroy."
This guy is absolutely hilarious!
-What guy?
Hazel looked comfy. Did you notice the really bad stunt double for Smith. Not even the right hair color.
The new IDAK defeated by sand in the eyes.😆😆😆
A David & Goliath thing
Verda would not have been wearing such a short skirt - that's only a human female predeliction to show off as much skin as possible without getting arrested.
Tennis players and figure skaters might disagree.
@@dwashbur Like I said - human females.
They wear the short skirts for freedom of movement, friend. It has nothing to do with wanting to show anything and everything to do with not wanting to fall on your face because you tripped over your skirt.
One of my favorite episodes
-Yeah,Mine too! Great videos. That is why i had to buy The Complete Classic Series of all 83 episodes.Plus fully remastered. Lots of good episodes here & hard to say what ones are the best. That is a individual thing. To each his/her own.
21:10 Just think how human Verda will look when they remove those three springs from her skull. 💀 Might help with the migraines too!
😆😁🤭😊🤣🤣🤣👍🏽👍🏽 Right you are sir ! Thanks !!
The 2nd android temporally dis able by pocket sand. LOL.
Dave Irving At 26:49 Correction everybody is working hard to get this thing operating except Dr. Zachary Smith.
When one says "everybody" on the Jupiter 2 it's understood that he's not part of it.
10:45 I heard that the original title of this episode was going to be "The Search For Verda's Pants." 👖
😁😆😌😸😝🤣👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👌🏽 Thanks for that one !
Dee Hartford is so beautiful.
She launched 1000 ships as Helen of Troy in the Time Tunnel.
One reason so much of Smith's dialogue is similar is that he rewrote most of it. He and the other actors said he was pretty much given carte blanche to do whatever he wanted with the dialogue. He came up with most of the alliterations. Bill Mumy said that sometimes they would run lines, but Harris would give him the changes he had made, usually, of course, making sure Smith had the majority of the lines. I don't think he rewrote scenes he wasnt in, but most of his dialogue he rewrote. And he really did have a bad back. His first "the pain, the pain" was an adlib because his back was hurting. It became a continual complaint, but notice it didn't bother him here when being thrown around by IDAK.
Alright! IDAK!
24:52 Yeah, yeah... But does it have a retractable cord?
Baseball is important.
Verda has clearly forgotten that Doctor Smith ordered her from the machine seventeen episodes earlier. That is understandable. Who in their right mind would want to be Doctor Smith's servant.
He never paid for her so she was never rightfully his. Zumdish didn't repossess her, so she's a free agent now.
Idak Alpha 12 was played by Don Matheson that also played another character on show named Rethos that had a wife and son. He also played Mark Wilson on Land of the giants and married Deanna Lund that played Valerie on Land of the giants and they had daughter Michele. Since then both Don and Deanna have died.
The Sky is falling a favorite episode where John goes in with their boy , at their mercy
Between the point 2:25 and 2:40 I understand what you are saying David Irving, Doctor Smith seems to get away with murder. I am afraid that is the Irwin Allen produced the episodes from His Majesty Smith to the Galaxy Gift. As I said Irwin Allen likes the Doctor Zachary Smith character as much as Will does at least. Do you watch "Home and Away at all? There is was a character in it called Alf Stewart who makes Don West seem as lovely as Penny. If Alf Stewart was in Don's place he would make the way Don West was towards Doctor Smith very tame indeed. If Don went away and Alf Stewart from Home and Away took his place, Doctor Smith would be whining loudly "Please Major West, please come back I beg of you." Alf Stewart has hated people who were only a fraction as bad as Doctor Zachary Smith!.
It seems like the writers were on a constant coffee break.
More likely a Booze break!! I feel the writers were hammered ALL the time!!
Writers ?.....Did LiS actually HAVE writers after the end of the first season ? It's an intriguing question. 👍🏽😊😏😉
@@Geezer-yf8hv Whichever one it is, I'm starting to like it a lot more.
Logan's run
When are they going to show the new episodes of lost in space on Netflix
Want more killing, less crushing and destroying.
I believe Maureen would have been jealous of Verda.
First time watching one of your videos. I dare say I liked it a whole lot. I'll check out some more, tomorrow (almost midnight here).
The woman android must be from dallas, tx. I can tell by the crazed look on her face and
those things sticking out of her head.......
At the end, Verda says she knows of a place that she and IDAK can go where they will never be found. I don't understand why they didn't just go there to begin with, or why she didn't.
She probably didn't because she knew IDAK would find her. With him turned, they can disappear.
That's my hypotenuse. Hippopotamus. Hypothesis.
@@dwashbur A hip explanation that makes good sense!
At the point 5:06 Verda's silver skin has been transformed to the colour of human skin. Now that is very far fetched. As far fetched as a woman of 62 looking as young as June Lockhart does in the series.
At the point 27:50 I do not understand howWill can put down his female sisters over Doctor Smith. Doctor Smith is about as useful as a five year old girl.
So this was the episode where you finally lost it with the inane writing? LOL
Positively luv the narration. Not srcstic, kinda revealingly analytical.
Is Zack Hample one of the androids?
Its a tv series story line. Granted smith was a d*ck but that was Jonathon Harris's character.
Oooooh IDAK. Hate IDAK.
I'm not sure if Dr. Smith knows what a female is.
That is a judo gi not a karate gi!
For as much as you complain about this series. One wonders why you dedicate so much time to it!?!?!?!?!
Please stop making fun of my favorite childhood show! You're like my older brother. He used to make fun of the show whenever I watched it! 😂
Dave Irving Why does Verda have springs out of her head?
No idea. The costume department had some extra parts?
@@dwashbur Maybe it was to make her seem like she still had some remnants of her mechanical origins left, since the glittery silver eye shadow wasn't enough to convey that impression.
I'm almost surprised that you don't see women with headbands containing those springs in real life, whether it's because of or in spite of this episode.
Did DC comics have any idea this was made?.
So we have lost in space Superman and Lois Lane
Wouldn't have mattered if they did. It was a one shot parody. Perfectly legal (see EC Comics/Mad Superduperman).
“Alpha Control: a Lost in Space Podcast” - if you’re a fan of the show and looking for a thoughtful and loving analysis of the series.
Are there any Lost in space jokes
The only one I know is "Did you hear about the Great Vegetable Rebellion"?
@@dwashbur I've got some.
Q: What do "Lost in Space" and "The Big Bang Theory" have in common?
A: They both have Pretty Pennies.
(Queue the Stone Temple Pilots music video!)
Q: What do "The Jetsons" and "Lost in Space" have in common?
A: They both have older daughters named Judy, who used elaborate hairstyling helmets.
Just wish he didn’t talk so much. Ruins the clip
Crush! Kill! Destroy!
