Hey guys! Thanks for watching the video! Just to rephrase the part where I stated the plane flies for ~10 minutes, I actually referred to the ideal flight time of this plane, calculating from what current the motor draws from the battery's capacity. The plane in perfectly still weather conditions and a little more practice flying makes for better control and longer flights. Thanks for understanding, cheers! Consider dropping a like 👍🏻, a share, comment, and subscription to the RUclips channel if you like what you see! ✌🏻 Stay tuned for a potential upcoming video of longer flights from this flying wing.

You have a lot of patience to take on this project from the angle you did. I'm sure you know there are a lot of ways to do this so much more efficiently and for probably the same money. Very unique approach!
Awesome video! You can tell you’ve put a lot of work into both the plane and editing of the video. On a note about the plane, flying wings typically have their elevons always slightly up, especially for takeoff as this moves the CG forward slightly. Additionally, and I could have this wrong, but I believe flying wings have a different pitch axis then standard planes, so to counteract the different rotation they need to already be engages both during take off and cruise. Additionally flying wings are difficult to fly because you have to have both elevons and alerons on them to help with adverse yaw, but you only have them as one set making it a little touchier especially with a far bag CG
Forgot to mention - look into differential ailerons. It’s pretty much the only solution for adverse yaw on a flying wing unless you want to start getting really technical. It also allows you to keep just the ailerons rather then adding elevons
Thank you for your comment, Charlie! I'll keep your suggestions in mind for when I build an improved similar flying wing 👍 Yup flying these flying wings is not a straight forward thing... I'll try playing around with the CG a little more to get it more balanced in the air. Cheers!
Genius. I really enjoyed the project itself, and the video production. In particular, I loved the way you took on the challenges and your simple solutions for small and big things.
You might want to consider adding dihedral to your wing to increase it's inherent stability. Your plane also looks very sensitive to pitch. So in your code you might add something to change the gain on the elevon so that you can fine tune the movement faster or slower. You may also want the elevons to be trimmed up or down. The plane should be able to glide without controller input. The engine mounted above the centerline may also be contributing the pitch instability. Nice project.
If you think of revisiting this aircraft or the flying wing concept in general, you should incorporate some automatic stabilisation - even the best pilots the USAF has to offer can't fly these things unassisted, the only recorded crash of the B2 Spirit was due to a sensor failure, and as far as I'm aware it's the only full scale flying wing currently in operation. Honestly, the fact you managed to keep this thing in the air for as long as 10 seconds was surprising and impressive, seems like you're a damn good pilot. Watching your videos, among other creators, has inspired me to start scraping together some components and hopefully build an FPV drone, or at the very least a car, so thank you for showing how simple this stuff can be.
@@MaxImagination Many thanks for your response. Could you further clarify it if possible? For example, by controlling the right-left control surface up or down.
as discussed, here, the wingtip stabs should be about 1/3 as tall. because, the stabs increase the amount of mass located at the wingtips. and, there are adverse affects from such outboard-located mass. in order to limit the adverse affects, the stab size should be minimized. googletranslate
im still in the process of planning a different style of this plane but I have all the parts I need to build the wing part but no electronics so far, instead of doing a solid foam wing im doing a line of wing shape sillhouettes that get smaller towards the edge of the wing and im going to lay a sheet of foamboard over that frame to create the wing which both saves weight and mess
Looks like arduous job, I was wondering if you possible make a wider wings? Alerion should be flapped down when going on the air, once it go airborne, lift alerion up to fly around. I cannot image all of your hard work to make it fly. I am impressed of your hard work! Good job Sir!
I've been told my aircraft is also too tail heavy, not sure if having the flaps down will work as this made my plane nose dive from launch. But I'll try again! Thanks for your kind comment! :)

Excellent, How did you make yaw motion for this type airplane as no rudder?
The yaw comes from making the plane tilt to one side, making it do a turn.
Thanks!
@@MaxImagination Many thanks for your response. Could you further clarify it if possible? For example, by controlling the right-left control surface up or down.
Yes, it is made by making one flap tilt down and the other up. Swap these to make the plane turn the other direction.
