I went to Japan in the Fall to solve most of the issues he talked about. Crowds? Not a big problem. Hot weather? Nah. Cold weather? Nah. Rain? Nah. Autumn in Japan has the most calm weather out of the year.
Also, I loved the money mountain area in Kyoto. The monkeys were really chill, and the views of the city and the hills was beautiful! Especially with all the different Fall colors.

Saga-Arashiyama is exactly 17 minutes on local and 11 on rapid San-In Line from Kyoto Station. And 5-10 minutes walk. How can you miss that? Recommend to take the first train in the morning there, to avoid all the people and have clean selfie. To Fushimi Inari go closer to the evening and all the way up. Most people turn around not even half way through, and most crowds go through the midday. And you managed to find the best omuraisu chef in Japan. Congrats.

For public transportation (which is great in Japan) I recommend getting a Suica card which is the Japanese equivalent of a metro card. It’s totally free and you just load it with cash/a card and you can swipe it on buses/trains except the bullet train. It’s super easy to use and you don’t need coins especially if you’re staying longer.
