How do you mix green? *Leave me a comment* with your favourite green recipes! And if you want to mix brown instead, try these recipes instead: bit.ly/3fvnMSI
Thanks for the advice. Was having a hard time making different shades of green. And need to make it a habit of testing my mixes on a scrap piece before I commit to my drawing.
Muchas Gracias!!! Thanks a lot. I always have issues mixing yellows. When I try to paint a yellow object my shades end up looking just dirty. Do you have any tips?
Hi Marisol, I try to keep my mixes as clean as possible, so washing my brush out between colours helps to keep the colours you mix bright and not muddy. Plus, add this lighter colour first to your paper before anything darker. Paul 🎨
Hi Karen, this isn't a leaf/ tree I've ever painted, and looking online for you, they do seem to vary in colour, it could be different light etc though. They seem to be more of a dull green and leans towards the blue side of the spectrum a touch. Maybe something like ultramarine/ gamboge hue or Phthalo green/ indigo? It's hard to say without playing with the colours mixes myself. Paul 🎨

Thank you, yes, testing first does save a few errors during the main painting. 😀

This is helpful. Greens are so challenging, but one in always trying to perfect is orange. Might you do a video of how you mix oranges?
Thank you Syrena, Yes, I may put one together for the colour orange, I do need this quite often within my paintings. Paul 🎨
Thank you, Paul. I look forward to oranges and appreciate you.
your videos are so helpful could you do a tutorial on how to tackle echidna quills?
Hi Carol, I do have a little video on here where I painted a hedgehog, so another spiky loveable critter. It may give you some ideas. bit.ly/3vXIFAJ

Could you suggest a mix for gum tree leaves? I'm in Australia and struggling with plein air. Thanks
