Hi Michelle, i'm new to your channel and i click on your channel soon as i saw the title of your tutorial because Green's all sort of Green's are all my fav. colors, on every pictures i paint or color you will found Green's some where, even if it's a portrait and don't really need green's on my colors palellet i will add some on the eyes, skin or hair but i can't tell you which Green's are my favorite because they all are absolutely Gorgeous! I,m so Glad having fond you here because i love painting with watercolors but i always have hard time to get satisfied or achieved a great result with this medium, I've take some classes when i was 18 years old and i was so impress by the talent of my teacher who was the Best Artist ever to paint Birds any kind of Birds on watercolors and she always told me you will be able to do the same AH! i wasen't believed that but sadly i had to stop taking teaching lessons with Her because of medical Issues i've got so know i have start with coloring for Adult and i've bought lots of Art supplies and only the Best Brands like Faber Castel Caran D'Ache Pablo Derwent and so much more and after 7 years of coloring i'm ready to gave it a try on watercolors again but i'm skared and always say OK. tomorrow i will start and all of my watercolors supplies stay on my Desk on my studio so that's why i'm more then please having click on your title today, i really enjoyed to watch and i have subscribed to all of your social media so maybee you are the key for help me gave it a try on this medium, Thank You so much for this fantastic tutorial on how to mix 10 Amazing Green's colors, i wen't to your channel and i will have so much fun to watch all of your tutorials and fingers cross that will make myself confident enough and really start painting watercolor??? Sorry for my long message to you, i ddin't realized i was so excited & thrilled anyway Big Thank's for doing these Amazing colors combo which are very helpful specially when you just start xx

Thanks so much for your message Sylvie. There is no need to worry about painting, just start. It's important not to have expectations at first of making a perfect painting. Making a lot of mistakes is just part of learning. At the end of each painting, just ask yourself if there is one little part of it you like, and that went well, in this way you progress. You only progress by making mistakes!

I love lemon yellow and Cerulean blue mixes but they can separate on the paper ( flocculation rather than granulation) which can be good or bad depending on the look you are after. You mention cheaper student paints, but I have actually been a longtime fan of Cotman Cerulean blue hue as a mixing Cerulean when I don't want the distraction. I've used this particular colour for over 30 years and must get through about 2 large tubes a year. It is the only student colour I use. I loved your video and there were some new mixes I haven't tried... I must admit I love my greens, there are so many permutations.

You can mix black and yellow watercolor to get green, even with watercolour as black is majority blue pigment but it will be very dark and muted.

Thanks a bunch. I will return again and again to your videos. Just watched your greys and now this. What I am interested in has to do with a deep grey late afternoon cloud bound but even sky dipping down to very small islands around which the sea which is greenish. So the sky is an even and deep grey, the islands a browned color with a little iridescent greenery on the one closest in, and the sea is a greyish green. Trying to figure out what the three colors in my palette should be to accommodate these greys and greens.

Thank you so much Michelle for making this video. After I watch the video, I divided a piece of watercolor paper in 10 squares, labeled what colors were used, and what Green's are used for each subject. The only one I had difficulty with was the pale grey green. It ended up looking more like the dark forest green. I think I just put down too much pigment. I also did not have Indian yellow so in its place I used new gamboge with a hint of cadmium Orange. They came out pretty close I think. I have a tie between my favorite.🙂 Those being fresh spring grass green and fir tree green. I really appreciate your lessons. Thank you.
