    I think everyone bashing them about privilege and their idea of "no excuses" and "nothing is stopping you" they aren't saying you aren't trying hard enough. I think they are saying that ITS POSSIBLE. If you want to travel, you have to put in the work to make it possible. There's sooooo many people, books and blogs that will say the same thing. They will say if you want it as bad as you say you do, it'll be a top priority for you. Maybe it can't be at the moment because of everything else you need to work for and do. But if it's a dream that you honestly want to fulfill, even if it takes years to make happen, you can do it. Sure it took her only a year to save up, it doesn't mean it'll be the same for you. I hiiiighly recommend the book "Vagabonding" by Rolf Potts.
    And pls don't bash me for sticking up for them.

      Agree with you but I also understand those people basing them since the video did talk about "sacrifice" a lot and most people don't want someone who is already this lucky to teach them how to live and how to pursue their dreams, which some might think as insult. She could just say she works hard and she appreciates the life that she currently has, which is something that I think most people want to see from this video.

    another possibility would be to become a flight attendant; I myself work for a european airline and you get to see so many places on different continents!
    you also get airliner discount in many hotels and of course massive discount on the flights :)

      +wherevershegoes I wish you good luck! :) I started right after I finished school and I really enjoy my it but it's not a job made for eternity (anymore) and I plan on going to uni next year

      +Wanderlust Estate really depends on the season and the destination and also on the airline I guess. Sometimes a little more than 24h and sometimes 4 days :D

      Of course! I would like to try it just for a while :) I'm planing to take a gap year after college, so I think being a flight attendant would be a cool experience and would help me travel!

    There seem to be a lot of comments still bashing you about privilege, but my family is in no way privileged at all and my brother managed to get a job in fast food and save up every single cent of his money for his dream of travelling. And now he's currently travelling around Europe. So yes, it is possible, and I hope to do the same after I graduate from high school. Thanks for the helpful tips! :)

      Exactly all one has to do is make travel their priority and then get out there and do it.

    • @WanderlustEstate

      ***** You don't need to have a job to start traveling. You choose to have bills and there is no need to pay rent. You don't need much in the way of food money. One can eat on a dollar a day. When you don't have money its easier to get your medicine because it becomes cheaper. Plus very few people have to take medicine to live.
      I was born to parents who were druggies and abusive. I was bounced around in foster care and I have to take multiple medications. I could loose everything I have today and be able to travel tomorrow. Because I would make it happen by making it a priority and dealing with whatever hardships appeared as I went after it. Luxury and comfort are the only privilege to travel. If you can forgo them for a period you can travel all you like.

    This is such a great perspective and NEEDS to get out there bc for every week long trip I take there are months of hours of very unglamorous work shifts and studying and laundry and stress that happens but it is all worth it and the Pre/post trip high is my motivation xoxoxoxoxo luv Kenzie

    My tips for Australia would definitely be to work there as your friend does :)
    I traveld through Australia a few years ago and noticed that I couldn't get very far with my saved money (from Germany) because everything was so expensive! The australian minimum wage is so much higher than the german one, so it only makes sense that everything seems to be much more expensive. So with money you make there, you can get much further :)
    Btw, I love your vlogs! :) It's so cool to see those places I went to 6 years ago again!! :)

    Your defense of your privilege is insulting to those who work hard and DON'T have supporting and loving families and no health or beauty.

    • @WanderlustEstate
      @WanderlustEstate 8 лет назад +5

      Why are people out down for their privledge? It's not wrong to be privledge. it's wrong to have people with no family and support system. We should be helping folks who are at a disadvantage rather than trying to make the privledged feel bad for having it good.

    • @pikimu
      @pikimu 8 лет назад +2

      I totally agree with Annie on this one. Perhaps I misworded my initial statement. I am not angry at them for having privilege. They just displayed it in a way that showed very little knowledge of it.

    People are soooo pressed about this.....It is NOT that serious. If you don't have funds to travel right now, you don't have to. It's not your time. They're just saying that it's never impossible to travel. Stop saying they're privileged like it's so negative. Just because they might have university paid for doesn't mean they're terrible people and that their travels are paid for. They worked for it just like everyone else can.

    • @WanderlustEstate

      Vera Tikhon Hop a ship. I bet if you worked at it you could go and find a ship that would take you across the ocean, as long as you were willing to scrub the deck in trade.
      You can still hitchhike, even if you can't drive. Now, as a minor I think you should wait, but I know many that have done it.

    Must be nice being this privileged, you guys have NO IDEA how hard it is for some people to afford trips like this. Not everyone has rich parents that would support us living at home at your age or be able to give us money all the time. Some of us have to pay for school.

    • @brittanibelou
      @brittanibelou 8 лет назад +3

      Oh and my parents sure as hell wouldn't be handing me money especially after getting a DUI

    • @WanderlustEstate
      @WanderlustEstate 8 лет назад +5

      Don't hate on privledge, let's just start supporting each other giving us as a collective the same benefits.

    • @brittanibelou
      @brittanibelou 8 лет назад +2

      +Wanderlust Estate not hating on her privilege. I myself am very privileged and fortunate to have gone to as many places as I have but you won't ever see me saying it's easy for just anyone to travel anywhere. She's saying there is no excuse when in reality there's many many things that could prevent a person from travelling to wherever they want.

    • @WanderlustEstate
      @WanderlustEstate 8 лет назад +2

      +Brittani Valentin I do understand where you are coming from, but believe personally what she says. All people can travel, they must have to make it there number one priority. You may not be able to go anywhere you want, nor would you necessarily be doing it in style or luxury. But, the truth is you need very little money to travel.

      thank you for speaking up! honestly a lot of people have it easy like chanelegance while the rest of us have to work each shift for little money. I honestly can never afford to go on one trip let alone an entire summer of trips!

    Don't be annoyed by people who are jealous. I'm jealous.. I will not gonna be working for a looong time because I'm sick. I'm 17 and I have no friends. no life. no realitic dreams.. so.

  • @yourmillennialtherapist
    @yourmillennialtherapist 8 лет назад +10

    your advice of 'no excuse' makes me sick honestly! We're not as privileged as both of you! it's not wrong for you to be privileged but your defense is insulting. We all work hard for goals and dreams. Just because you had it easier than us doesn't mean we're not working hard.
