    Travel, increasing my income, and taking full control over my life is the main points on my vision board. The reason being is because my whole life I have been in mandatory public schools and raised in a poor family who doesn't care about these things but I'm going to break out of my comfort zone and expand my confidence! If it wasn't for my vision board Idk where I would be! This will be my first time flying in a plane!

      Goal Freak I’m in the exact situation like u. My family never cared about these things either and I thought I would be like them and go to college get a job and then work for ever but Instead I decided that I’m gonna work save up For a 1 ur and half or maybe 2 years then travel as long as I can even if my family doesn’t support me cuz it’s something I really want to do with my life

      I guess we are the breakaway kids haha. Well I'm 33 now and have only travelled to Spain twice in my whole life. Awful i know but the beginning must start of my solo travel adventure. I don't know what to do or where to go but I'm just going to do it.

      maria thiede I hear ya. I’m at stay at home mom. My 2 kids are 15 and 8 years old. We go on a week vacation in the summer and also several weekend getaways but it’s usually between 3-5 hrs from home. We’ve never been out of USA and I would love to go to Europe one day with my kids. I can afford to go by myself or with my partner but not all of us. The first time I go to Europe I want to go with my kids too...then if I go again I wouldn’t mind going with my parter only.

And maybe a video on the side jobs and amount from youtube subscribers/ views. That would be a great video. If anyone knows of a good one let me know. Tess, this is the first time I come across your video, and I like the way you talk and I like your being honest about how you fund your trip. I just want to give you a heads up about the safety. You mentioned that a local fisher guy offered you a private trip to you and your mom, and you took it. It was very lucky of you and your mom to be safe after that. If you search for Tampa Bay killer back in 80s, you'll find a local guy offered a woman and her two teenager daughters a private tour with his boat, and of course killed them after raping them. I just want you and other travelers to be aware of the danger to accept any private tours from locals. I hope you all have happy and safe trips. But just be aware that once you get in the boat, your life is at other's mercy. Most likely you met a nice guy who really want to help you. But can you really afford the bad chances?

    • @TessFlorio
      @TessFlorio  6 лет назад +3

      I honestly don't travel completely solo that often, usually I'm with a friend! but I'm most likely going on a big solo trip in january! :) one thing I've learned though is when you're traveling on your own, it is so so soo easy to meet new people if you put yourself in the right situations and then all of a sudden you don't feel alone at all anymore! but of course just always be cautious in new settings! & most of the time, I just find a friend who wants to travel with me!

    Honestly, I went to a travel agent on the weekend, just to have their perspective on flights. Then I spent multiple days, literally living on my phone, looking at flight prices from different dates, different lengths of time and angles, and directions blah blah blah. And I concluded that the flight agent honestly had the best deal for me. I was basically getting the same price that they were giving me maybe $100 cheaper. And with that much of a difference, I decided it’s best to go through the agent this time around. I told the support online flights depending on what you’re doing. But sometimes travel agents are helpful too :-) I’ve done both. And yes, I did look at Google flights and kayak and what not.

    What programs do you use to create your itineraries? Or do you just put everything into a Word document. Also, have you have heard of couchsurfing? I think it's a super cool way to travel as well.

    I find out your channel a year ago, when I was planning what to do on my trip to Costa Rica, and now, you have 100 K subscribers! I love how you have grown up in numbers and it motivates me, because I saw your process! I have a personal goal this 2018, to dedicate more time to my RUclips channel. ✨

    Keep in mind that Google Flights is not a booking engine! You can't actually make bookings using them. Also don't rule out Travel Agents - they can be an excellent resource. You just need to find the right one! #traveltutor

    Great video! I'm a bit confused as to how you are earning money from RUclips? This surely wasn't an instant thing and is something you have built up since you started travelling? Xx

    Thanks so much for the tips! Could you tell us your opinion about metasearch engines like HotelsCombined, Staypia, etc? Hostels are also good but I want to compare hotel rates, too

    This is so neat. I'm actually at the airport going to North Carolina from Nebraska to see my army boyfriend. It's been 4 and a half months since I've seen him last so I'm really excited!

    Air BnB is one of my favorites as well! My mother and I always use it. It is the perfect way to experience the place you are visiting for cheap! We like to bring groceries if we are driving or if it is quite far away by car we stop by the nearest grocery store and fill up the refrigerator with cheap items like pasta and marinara sauce, salads, and sandwich necessities. In my opinion, traveling for food is not that important. We do go out and try the food maybe eat at a restaurant or two but we never get breakfast lunch and dinner. Eating out adds up in expensive areas like you said but if you are traveling to see the place and experience it I don't think giving up the food is such a big deal... I would rather go zip lining than eat some 5-star restaurant.
