The Allman brothers band were one of THE best live shows ever. Gregg Allman was fantastic up until the day he passed away. May Dickie Betts RIP along with Duane & Gregg.
Cher was married to Greg Allman for a little while. They had a son who’s probably 30 ish. Sadly Greg passed away probably 2 or 3 years ago. They were a good band. 😢
If you think this is masterpiece, listen to "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed", by them, off the "Live at Fillmore East", album, but some advice, strap yourself in first.
I've always loved Southern Rock and The Allman Brothers were one of the best. I also have to give kudos to whoever created the video to this song. Very well done. It fits the song perfectly! I would recommend Midnight Rider for the next one.
Thanks for the reaction, it was great! As others have mentioned, you should do "Whipping Post" next. It will give you an idea of what Gregg Allman's vocals were like when he was a young man. For me, he's one of the greatest blues, blues-rock singers of all time. The guitarist and vocalist in this one was Dickey Betts, who has a sweet, great voice, but Gregg was the main singer in the band for a reason. BTW, "Ramblin' Man" is probably the most country-sounding of their songs. "Whipping Post", "Black Hearted Woman", "Midnight Rider", "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed", "Don't Want You No More/Not My Cross to Bear" and many others will give you a better feel for the blues, blues-rock, jazz and straight-ahead rock sides of the band. You're in for a treat if you continue down this rabbit hole!
My very favorite southern rock band!! This was written and performed by Dickey Betts, one of the band’s two lead guitarists. ♥️ Not My Cross to Bear, Dreams, Sweet Melissa, Whipping Post, Midnight Rider, One Way Out, Soulshine - take your pick! In general The AB’s have a very bluesy rock sound and Gregg, one of the founding brothers, sings lead. He has an unbelievably beautiful soulful voice, but it’s so much different than Dickey Betts. This isn’t typical of their music, but it’s still a great song, especially with DB’s guitar solos.
The Allman’s are to absolute definition of Southern Country Rock. Interesting fact, Greg Allman was married to Cher for a while. Their son Elijah is a great musician in his own right. He’s had some struggles along the way but that doesn’t diminish his guitar skills.
I was probably 10 or 11 when this came out. It's so strange how a song that I could take or leave when I was young suddenly feels like home. It is so familiar and comforting now.
Had the privilege of seeing them live at The Warehouse in New Orleans when I was in college in Baton Rouge. Unforgettable!! Thank you for your great reaction!!
When I was a kid (20s) in the 80s, I was at a Disco outside of Boston, Ma and these scruffy, long haired rockers all walked in! The Allman Brothers had just played Great Woods and the bus got lost. Unfortunately the DJ didn’t have any of their music to play but it was a trip to see them there!
Greg was in a great 80's movie, Rush, with Jason Patrick, Jennifer Jason Leigh & Sam Elliott. Greg plays a bigtime coke dealer\club owner in a Texas town which happens to be near where i live.
you want to do the whole …at the Fillmore East album and eat a peach album mostly live My favorite song is in memory of Elizabeth Reed. Do you like to go to Tire before way to hear Dwayne Allman and Dickie Betts play
Love your reaction but it does not evoke barren dusty roads. Instead it's all about the southeast USA, which is humid and rainy. Its sister song is from this album is Jessica, which is featured in the movie Field of Dreams. Check it out it out if you haven't already. Thanks so much for your channel
I really appreciate your music reaction videos and the fact that you are willing to try various music types and artist. I believe you would really like and appreciate Jim Croce an American artist from the early seventies and I would suggest his biggest hit first, "I Got A Name. Thank you and keep going!!!
Greg Allman was married to Cher back in the day. They had a son, Elijah Blue who is a very troubled man. He's in prison or a mental institution, can't remember which.
Whipping Post is my very favorite!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
True southern rock, these guys were seriously talented, playing , writing and singing they could do it all
The Allman brothers band were one of THE best live shows ever. Gregg Allman was fantastic up until the day he passed away. May Dickie Betts RIP along with Duane & Gregg.
Can't forget Berry Oakley !!
A true classic.
What a great song. Haven't heard it in years. Thank you for reacting to it. Always enjoy your reactions.
Twin drummer's, Twin Guitars, B Hammond Organ, and a Bassist that held it all together. The Allman's changed music forever.

Great song, I love this one!!❤❤
Congratulations you're about to go down the southern rock rabbit hole 😎 next up should be Allman Brothers midnight rider.
The Godfathers of Southern Rock. (FYI, their father was killed when gregg and Duane were young).

I would recommend Midnight Rider for the next one.
Excellent selection, great reaction, all around awesomeness. This song also made a cameo in the movie the Exorcist
One day God woke up and said "I'm going to make Dickey Betts the most unique man on Earth for a day", and Ramblin' Man was the result.

"At Fillmore East" all live and all amazing.
This was one of my favorite songs as a teen.
One of my favorite songs of theirs!
Brings back great memories of my mom and I.
Great reaction Craig.😊
They created Southern Rock. Check out "Midnight Rider" and "Melissa." Both great songs.

This is a great song. I loved them and then Greg Allman solo. Awesome music!

Dickie Betts, one of the guitarists, and the writer of this song passed on 18 April, 2024. RIP
