ccr doesn't have a bad song in their catalog. some highlights for me are "someday never comes", "long as i can see the light", "green river" , "lodi", "midnight special", "looking out my back door" and "commotion".
So glad you liked this. You are going to make a whole lot of friends, and get lots of comments by reacting to their full library of hits. John Fogerty is the lead singer, a very distinctive voice. When you think you have had enough of CCR, John went his own way and had a phenomenal solo career. I really liked his hit "Centerfield" which was a tribute to baseball. A great video goes along with this song.
Proud Mary Susie Q Born on the Bayou Run Through the Jungle Such a great band. John Fogerty's voice is raw and emotional. They have a great library of hits. They are from California even though a lot of people thought they came from the Bayou. Glad you loved it. Lots more to go. Thanks Craig. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
My favorite might be Down on the Corner, or there’s a Bad Moon on the Rise. They don’t have a bad song. John Fogarty’s solo career is awesome. He was sued for sounding too much like himself.
CCR- in my top 10 fave groups. A few of my fave songs-Down On The Corner, Put A Spell On You, Long As I Can See The Light, and Lookin' Out My Back Door.
When this came out in the 60's & 70s it wasn't considered country -- it was rock. During the 60's and 70's country music was very old school, very different than today. The other great group from same time frame is Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.
Love CCR!!! One of my favorite songs. Although hard to pick! To add to Happy W. below👇 'Down on the corner', 'Fortunate son' , 'Proud Mary' , 'Bad Moon Rising' , 'Born on the Bayou' 'Run through the Jungle' and 'Cotton Fields'. It's best to do the record versions, you get all the music and sounds that way.
You will throughly enjoy traveling down this rabbit hole!! They are legends! They played together since 1959 under two previous names then became CCR in 1967. Their songs were heavily listened to by troops in Vietnam, and the counter culture of the time. So many songs to choose from.... Fortunate Son -protesting the draft. I think you guys called it Conscription? The politicians that sent them and the rich got their sons out of the draft or pulled strings to keep them stateside. Bad Moon Rising Born on the Bayou Run through the Jungle Proud Mary Down on the Corner And many, many, more. The lead singer is Fogerty Great reaction!!
I don't know if you appreciate how wonderful it is to watch your reactions to the songs of my formative years...it allows me to re-experience them as if for the first time again. Thank you!!! Also, the recommendations already given are good-you should listen to them also. What I would like to say to you personally is thank you for your military service, it is a blessing to the rest of us. I am a 60 year old from North Dakota, USA and you are welcome at my home anytime you get near, and we put out a pretty good spread of food around here, Have you considered visiting the States at some point? Country music makes more sense if you have visited the "country" where it was written in.
Southern Rock sound but the band originated in the NW Los Angeles suburb of Thousand Oaks, CA - west of the main LA metro complex - upper middle class residential area
Yes, I well remember listening to them back in the seventies. John Fogerty really did, and still does, have a very distinctive voice that I truly appreciate. The band only lasted a very few years but they sure did produce some great music. Incidentally John, age 77, is still performing!
When my brother returned from Vietnam in the early 70z CCR and The Doors was his favorites. I fell in love with CCR listening with my brother. He passed 3 years ago. Such great memories of listening to CCR with him and they will be a favorite of mine always. 💕
John Fogarty has a killer voice. CCR has always been a fave, blew a speaker out in the car when I was a kid. You may want to check out CCRs live performance of "I Put a Spell on You." It's a killer, some nice guitar in it, too. Vids a little dark, but you don't want to miss that performance. Bad Moon Rising, Proud Mary, they have so many great ones. Great reaction. Thanks again for all you do.
CCR is known for SWAMP ROCK ( Born On the Bayou, There's a Bad Moon On the Rise, , Rollin' On the River and more) AND for his Viet Nam inspired songs ( Fortunate One aka..I Ain't NO Senators Son, Run Through the Jungle. ) Massively popular hits.
You were right about this being an older song… My friend from school had an older sister who was playing it on her stereo ( it was a brand new album) in 1971 …I was 10 yrs old.! It’s definitely one of their Many Classic Hits! You might want to try ‘Proud Mary’ , ‘Bad Moon on the Rise’, ‘Heard it Through the Grapevine’ or ‘Fortunate Son’…next- … and Yes, they’re definitely Southern Rock…Enjoy!
One of my favorite songs of all time! And I listen to lots of different music. Loved since the first time I heard it 50+ years ago as a 15 year old high school girl. CCR doesn’t have a bad song in their catalog. This song is timeless!
Check out more by CCR; Lookin' out my back door, Green River, Proud Mary, Fortunate Son, Bad Moon Rising, Willy and the Poorboys, and a slew of other smash hits by them.
I’m 59 so I’ve grown up listening to they’d music. My daughter is 32 and took a class in college about 12 years ago. It was in music. She discovered CCR and fell in love with them. She said that they sang such soulful songs. I told her it was life experience that helped them. 💙💙💘💘
The endlessness of the music that CCR produced, is a huge tribute to their magic. John Fogarty left the band, and took the rights to all of the songs with him. He had a mediocre solo career afterwards. His brother, who was also in the band, had the issue wrapped up in court for many years. In 1995, the other band members of CCR (Credence Clearwater Revival) formed a "cover band" called CCR (Credence Clearwater Revisted), and has been able to tour, playing all of the old songs, ever since.
I grew up on the great music of the 60's-70's. CCR has always been one of my favorites. They don't have a bad song! John Fogerty has one of the most unique & recognizable voices around. All their songs are great - "Proud Mary", "Born On The Bayou", "Bad Moon Rising", "Lodi", "Green River", "Commotion", "Night Time Is The Right Time", "Down On The Corner", "Fortunate Son", "Cotton Fields", "Midnight Special", "Travelin' Band", "Who'll Stop The Rain", "Up Around the Bend", "Run Through The Jungle", "Lookin' Out My Back Door", "Long As I Can See the Light", "Suzie Q", "I Heard It Through The Grapevine", "I Put A Spell On You", "Sweet Hitch-Hiker" etc.
One more etc. "Keep on Chooglin" this one is a bit more obscure. And then there is Chameleon, Jambalaya, Feelin Blue, Hey Tonight, Walk on Water, Bootleg ,Molina, Pagan Baby, and about 20 more.
Have you discovered Gordon Lightfoot yet? One of his best songs - If You Could Read My Mind... He would fall into the folk side of music, but like John Denver has a country feel sometimes.
Fantastic group! I grew up listening to CCR. The lead singer John Fogerty has a very distinctive voice and went on to have a good run as a solo artist after the band broke up.
Bad Moon Rising is by far my favorite CCR song, The Midnight Special is amazing storytelling, but Cotton Fields is just a toe rapper that I listen to over and over!!! This child of the seventies listened to this group all the time because my mom and dad loved them! I had no choice but to love them too! 💗💗💗
John Fogerty's distinctive voice took CCR to the top of the charts. I think the "I Put A Spell On You" video is synched, but it is well done. The song also showcases JC's guitar licks. There's plenty of CCR to experience.
Saw John Fogerty (lead singer and lead guitar player) July 17 and at 77 years of age, he can still put on a great show. This song came out in 1971 BTW and when he did this song, a good portion of the 10,000 in attendance erupted in sing a long, and kept it up for the next couple songs.. Was great be witness that!
When you listen to their “Bad Moon Rising”. The correct lyric is “there’s a bad moon on the rise” not “there’s a bathroom on the right” one of the most misheard lyric of all time😄👍
Awesome band, they have an endless tract of great music. They are considered Southern Rock but in fact they are from California. Check out Run Through The Jungle, it is about the Vietnam era !!!
They are from California, awesome band you have reacted to and CCR do have awesome amazing songs that you will love and enjoy. Lodi is my favourite song and as well as this song...
CCR are legendary John Fogarty also has a fabulous catalogue of solo hits and his is a brilliant song writer. Check out Midnight Special Down On the Corner From John’s solo catalogue Centrefield
7 albums in 5 years, so many hit singles, and ALL OF THEM as popular and relevant today as they were back then. Fortunate son, Lodi, Up around the bend, Hey tonight, Sweet hitch hiker, Run through thye jungle, Heard it through the grapevine, Green river.... and on and on and on
I have actually never heard of anyone who doesn't love CCR.I was born in 69 so I grew up with them and they literally have no bad songs.I have been wondering,do you ever share the songs you discover with your friends and family, and if so,what are their thoughts?
Happy Webster is correct, CCR does not have a bad song. Do not shy away from their lesser-known songs like It Came Out of the Sky, Crosstie Walker, Effigy and so many others. John Fogerty's voice is amazing. Loved these guys since they first came out in the 60's and still do.
I love CCR and every time I listen to them I am taken back to my days of protesting the Vietnam war, our demonstrations, and peace marches. CCR was definitely the soundtrack of that time. I know their music was popular with our troops when they were in country fighting.
Southern Rock is my favorite genre! CCR is amazing! My mom was born in 56, this is her ALL time favorite band. I was fortunate enough to grow up listening to them and knowing ALL of their music. Love, love, LOVE them! Do Fortunate Son, you might recognize it.
Credence Clearwater Revival (also known as CCR by Fans) is a very unique and special band. They have a lot of amazing songs that mixes country and rock beautifully. You need to check out Lynyrd Skynyrd if you like CCR.
This is southern rock, "bayou blues" but not "country" although I can see where some may say there are blurry lines, but that's why we have "genres" and styles. And that's how we determine how bands and artists expand out into other "genres." Music genres have the power to significantly enhance our enjoyment of music. When used constructively, they increase our compression of the art form, helps us recognize innovation, and perhaps most importantly, improve our ability to appreciate quality. (in my humble opinion) and if interested, here's another one of their songs "Credence Clearwater Revival - Bad Moon Rising" Great reaction👍✌💖
CCR is one of the greatest rock bands ever. They were a little before my time but I love their music. Their Doug Harrison is still rocking and he is the drummer for Creedence Clearwater Revisited.
dave here. fogaty wrote this song at the height of their popularity. It was aboout how he could see the band splintering and falling apart. Hence the "rain falling down sunny day". Anthing from them is good. I like "Down on the corner", and Looking through my backdoor. simple but soo good to listen to.
Oh Lord..this song brought back some memories, fun times back in the day!! I was 17 years old!! Use to listen to CCR on an 8 track tape!! Rock on CCR!!👍🥰
CCR was 60s & 70s a band ahead of their time. Their music was huge back then when I was a teen, but even my parents liked them and they were strictly country.

Green River, midnight special and looking out my back door are mandatory for any CCR discovery journey
CCR ‘I Heard it Through the Grapevine”, Born on the Bayou”, “Bad Moon Rising”, or actually any.
I’m 67 and Credence was at their peak in the late 60’s early 70’s. Their music is timeless. Get their greatest hits - it’s an excellent cd!
I keep
Saying I’m 66, forgetting I turned 67 in August.

Great reaction to a great group. Another Southern Rock group is Lynyrd Skynyrd. My favorite! (Free Bird, live, Sweet Home Alabama, etc....)
Simple Man is great one too
My favorite might be Down on the Corner, or there’s a Bad Moon on the Rise. They don’t have a bad song. John Fogarty’s solo career is awesome. He was sued for sounding too much like himself.

Yes… And also Crosby, Steele and Nash.
Fortune Son and Run Through the Jungle are a couple of my favorites. They have a large catalog of hit songs so anything you choose be fantastic.

Yep. You picked a good group. Timeless.
It is 50 years ago John Fogerty was a genius Looking out my Backdoor is another CCR to be heard
Definitely one of your best reactions so far! Love seeing how much you enjoyed this. CCR is *such* a great rabbit-hole to go down! ❤

Just love CCR and John Fogerty! Never a bad song. Them and the Eagles are top of my list! (: Johns tribute to the Vietnam vets was so good.

It's sounds so good you wanna cry. CCR was a big part of my life back then👍👌
I was 10 years old at the time it was released and have sung it ever since ❤
CCR was my mom's favorite band, when I was little.
Multiple generations love their music. 💗
Southern Rock is my favorite genre! CCR is amazing! My mom was born in 56, this is her ALL time favorite band. I was fortunate enough to grow up listening to them and knowing ALL of their music. Love, love, LOVE them! Do Fortunate Son, you might recognize it.

CCR, everyone needs some CCR in their life. Good music! 🎶💃 Sothern Rock...
It was released January 1971. I love Southern Rock
One of the all time best bands and singer..

And it's funny they were out of California, and nowhere near the deep south. They are an amazing band
@@adam.4487 IKR! It just goes to show how much they submerged themselves into the blues.
It is and I saw them in concert 3 times!! I'm loving your loving it!👏👏👏👏👊
The addition of the Hammond B3 organ at 3:34 is what makes this song great....IMHO.
Now HERES a rabbit hole to not just go down, but to set up camp! 🤤
I love CCR ! Check out their song "Down On The Corner"
One of the best light rock bands in the 70's.
Listened to CCR during highschool years 1968-1972 had at least 4 of their Albums . Fantastic band .
CCR is one of the greatest rock bands ever. They were a little before my time but I love their music. Their Doug Harrison is still rocking and he is the drummer for Creedence Clearwater Revisited.
Their prettiest songs.
dave here. fogaty wrote this song at the height of their popularity.
Now I have to click on those songs and listen for the millionth time! 💗💗💗💗
Southern Rock for sure.. you hit the nail on the head..
CCR was 60s & 70s a band ahead of their time. Their music was huge back then when I was a teen, but even my parents liked them and they were strictly country.
I'm going to be a broken record and you need to review the Muscle Shoals documentary the shaped rock-n-rolls foundation but also launched the new genre of southerrock. You will be stunned how many British bands came to Alabama.
My husband and myself love CCR. Our parents introduced us to all types of music, and this is one of our favorite bands
it was released Jan., 1970. We didn't have video back then.
Who'll Stop the Rain is one of my favorite songs by CCR also Looking Out my Back Door
Tap into the entire ccr collection,u will not be disappointed, they are phenomenal.
Awwww!!! CCR♥️
In addition to Happy Webster, I suggest CCR Bad Moon Rising -- these guys were very popular and one of my all time favorites growing up
Completely different style but popular in country rock - Glenn Campbell,
This song was big on the radio the year I graduated from high school in 1971. Looking out my back door.
CCR, Proud Mary !!!!!
love CCR.
One of my favorite songs. I once heard this song played on a bass violen. Beautiful.
Born on the bayou, Green River, Run through the jungle, Fortunate Son, etc....
