1975 here. Super era for music. I saw The Allman Brothers in 1975 at the Oakland Coliseum and that was when Gregg was going with Cher, She was at the side of the stage kind of below the stage and you could see her dancing away, she was feeling good too, stoned big time. What a concert that was! Wow

Duane Allman played on Wilson Pickett's version of Hey Jude. Eric Clapton heard the song and asked the question, "Who's playing that guitar?' And just like that, attention was focused on southern rock, and a legend was born. After Duane's death in a motorcycle accident, Dickie Betts stepped into the limelight. He was always a great player (and writer), but was understandably walking in Duane's shadow. Dickie was one of the greats and deserves to be recognized as such, and the Allman Brothers Band will always be in the conversation when talking about great American bands.

The original band was beyond great but no matter who was in the band, they always were and sounded like the Allman Brothers.

Yes, the original lineup was beyond great. Live at the Fillmore East proved that. Did you catch the In Concert special that captured a lot of moments from those two concerts? I think it was broadcast in '71 or 72. That was my introduction to the band. It's hard to believe they only got paid somewhere around 1200.00 a night for those two shows. @@vicprovost2561

What makes this song great is that it starts out as an easy-going, nothing little country ditty, and by the end it is a runaway freight train. This is why I LOVE the Allman Brothers Band.

Nice, one of their best known songs that features Dickie Betts on vocals and lead guitar, a great road trip song to say the least, they have many. From their brilliant Live At Fillmore East, do Stormy Monday for a great cover of blues great T Bone Walker. Their guitars are not just instruments live but true voices in counterpoint to Greg Allman's great bluesy/soulful vocals. Enjoy pretty lady, you had very happy eyes as this song got going, made me smile knowing this band will always be listened to. They were huge for us in high school. Rock On! 🎵🎸🎤🎸🎹🎶

Well, the best advice I can give is: 1) sit in chair in relaxed position.......2) focus.......3) make sure you don't contract any of your muscles......and finally, try thinking of pink elephants as a distraction mechanism. If you follow these steps, I think you'll get your wish.....Good luck!

High school class of '73 in South Carolina. We grew up on the Allman Brothers catalog. "Not My Cross to Bear," "Melissa," "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed," "One Way Out," "Statesboro Blues," "Blue Sky," "Ain't Wastin' Time No More," "Midnight Rider," "Jessica," "Revival," "Trouble No More," "Dreams," "Don't Keep Me Wonderin'"..... so many great songs on great albums like "Live at Fillmore East" and "Eat a Peach." A rabbit hole worth crawling into.

Some might suggest that as my theme song, so normally I’d have a lot to add to the conversation. Instead, it makes me sad that anyone would/could relate this classic to a corporate commercial. Hate to hear my life’s soundtrack co-opted to sell tires, or beer, or mattresses, or some new drug.
So glad to see young people get a fresh look at history. Thanks

So many good songs from this band. They were the first band of the "Southern Rock "genre. Check out "Midnight Rider" and "Melissa" both great songs. Fun fact: On the cover of the "Brothers and Sisters" album is Butch Trucks (the drummer) and his wife's son Vaylor and on the back cover is Berry Oakley (one of the guitarists) and his wife's daughter Brittany.
