Layering has become more and more important in psytrance bass design. Progressive psytrance almost always uses layered basslines nowadays. Today we will look at how to layer basslines!

In this video some of the basic concepts of layering are explained. Layering is a technique which has become a lot more important over the last few years for creating psytrance basslines. Layering is the concept of adding multiple sounds onto each other to create a single sound out of it. There are 4 problems with layering that this video covers: Phase issues, Tone issues, Functionality and Over-complication. All of these problems can have a large impact on the overall quality of the layered sound and precautions need to be taken in mind when layering basslines or other sounds.
