Whenever I hear people that decide to live lives like this, they almost always sound really intelligent and like they ponder things deeply. I think this is no coincidence.
Just go and do things in nature! Do gardening! Go for walks in wooded trails the smells and birds just the peacefulness of it all makes one , peaceful ! Then things will start changing forward!
Plant some cress seeds. Watch it grow on your windowsill, coming up to say hello to you. Then you know, you get an instant connection with nature. You can grow it on cotton wool, tissue paper or soil. Do that. Bless you.
Huge respect for this lady. She is living a reality life whiles others are domesticated or tamed to live in a illusionary world. Nature beauty is the best pleasure.

Her words really made sense more than anything - "When we sit around the table. i will not see a phone. They have to feel the importance of just being with other people directly". Beautiful!
I'm embarrassed about it. But getting out of my own prison. Too much in my head, so I loved to be alone than people calling me weird or out of older when they can't relate to my intellect and spirituality. I rather be alone than abuse
This woman, and her lovely family, have discovered the meaning of life. To live in peace and harmony with nature. With the sun on her face. It looks like heaven.
It was wonderful to watch! So calming! Our dream too! We just bought a 62 acre island in the wilderness of Canada and we would love for you to check out our journey 🌲it's the adventure of a lifetime for us!
I'm watching this on my android phone on RUclips somewhere in West Africa. I think I'm rich too. I can get to her in her wonder land where we cannot all be. The most important thing is for us to be satisfied where we all are and make the best out of our worlds.
I have lived in different places, in countrysides and in cities. I notice that people who live in country side are calm and more friendly than people in cities. The people from cities are stressed causing them to be rude and arrogant. They are always running here and there. They need to take time to stop and enjoy nature and things around them to calm them down.
Even when the cows start mooing in unison when you are trying to take a nap or get to sleep it is like a lullaby. I have such wonderful memories of spending all my summers on my Aunt and Uncles farm. We had everything: Cows, Horses, Sheep, Goats, dogs, cats, birds, deer out in the woods, we fished in our pond and had well water. We also had a massive garden where we grew our own vegetables and shared with all our neighbors which were all a few miles away from us, but they always came over to work the land. We did it together and we all ate together and had the most wholesome and wonderful life. I learned to drive an old Ford Truck when I was 10 years old on the farm and all the neighbors said that it was the perfect age to learn..giggles. We all rode our horses and had picnics by the pond or lake...we never once thought anything about sunscreen probably because we all had so much dirt on our faces from hard work. On Sunday's we would all go to church, most of us wearing our overalls and the girls in jeans or sundresses. We all had fried chicken, potato salad, apples pies made from our apple trees (an applesauce of course) and all kinds of pies and green beans and corn on the cob. Let's just say that a meal like that tastes so amazing after a hard days work on the farm. Your comment meant a lot to me because when summer was over and I was back in the city I could hardly stand the noise from the cars and the neighbors. Once you have enjoyed a whole summer of animals, family, gardening and fishing, etc. it is hard to come back to the city. When I retire I hope to live where there is a lot of beautiful nature around me.
@illuminOz The island has a regular helicopter service twice a week. In the part of the world where this island is located, there are services provided for the citizens, so you don't have to own your own helicopter (or pay your medical bills), since those costs are shared by everyone through taxes. It works pretty neatly.
@illuminOz Sure, but you see, if people and companies share the cost, i.e. the way it is done in Northern Europe, it works very well, as opposed to the US, where everyone has to fend for themselves.
@illuminOz Yes, I must be naive. I am Scandinavian, so I know the system;) As you might have noted, these are the Faroe Islands. No highways, no trains (very expensive as I'm sure you know), no bridges. This helicopter probably serves more islands than this one. Anyway, I think it is kind of silly to criticise a system that you apparently do not know at all, and judge it by your own standards.
@illuminOz I'm not sure if you noticed, there is a lighthouse on the island. Maybe they are also the lighthouse keepers who need to ensure the safety of shipping in the area. There are many people around the world who live in remote areas/islands maintaining lighthouses for the benefit of many - and they too require supplies to be flown in. You appear quick to judge without the full details.
@illuminOz 'cute' that was silly to say and exposes part of your mindset..... I know of a few lighthouses in remote areas which are not automated and require daily maintenance. as well as performing weather research at the location. The woman was also the 8th generation to live on the island. A six minute video clip does not show or tell the whole story or history, so it is foolhardy to make assumptions.
Great thing is, you do not have to live in isolation to experience all this. I live in a village in Australia and have life I truly love. Lots of nature, great people and ability to live in the moment.
"Connecting through internet is not enough" can't agree more with her... just seeing them living my dream life has filled me with unprecedented happiness💙💚💙💚
@@linkas.6724 That could be the reason. Sometimes, too, people think they need to live in a specific location in order to live their dream life, when in reality, they could live their dream life-style almost anywhere.
to be honest, this is the perfect life. being one with nature, having a peaceful and worry-free life, and being contented on what you have is what makes a person rich inside her heart. it may not seem like much, but it definitely means a lot to those people who are trying to seek this kind of lifestyle.
There is a woman in my country who lives alone on an isolated island and she doesn't even have a house, the Island is WAY more remote and Isolated than this ladies Island. It's in the south ocean near Antartica.

I couldn't agree more, Siobhan. After feeling incredibly low and disheartened lately from the overwhelming sense of negativity on social media, this is truly a breath of fresh air - a 'restores my faith in humanity' if you will. Beautifully filmed, beautiful stories, beautiful people.
This is soooo beautiful ...yes she was so right ...we r spending our time on social media most of the time .. don't have much connection with family and frnds the way it has to be .. she is really blessed and yes nature is so wonderful ...the food she eats and drinks must b healthy same like her surrounding. .. fresh air to breath ... silent quite place to live. ..it's like a dream land for me ...just love it 😊❤
It makes us smile to hear you draw inspiration from our films Aieshath. If you have any connection with horses, you'll love this weeks film - out on Wednesday :)
She inherited that island from 8 generations of family. If I had a massive island given to me I wouldn't leave it either, but I have to work my ass off.

@@hariseldon3786 Why is it selfish to live on that island, and more to point, why do you feel that this was presented as being 'virtuous'? They obviously have some sort of off-island income and supplement their food by producing locally. This is no different than living off of the road system in some place like an isolated Alaskan village. In ancient times, famine and death were common in these villages too. Much the same in villages around the world at different points in history that now benefit from better technology and transportation infrastructure to allow for living in such places better than generations prior. She lives in a multi-generation family location, that alone seems like justification for living in hard conditions as they do. Much like a family still living in their traditional village in Alaska. What is sad is your judgement of this lady and her family based on your own societal and cultural biases. Her children will be fine without your sanctimonious 'concern' for their well being.
@@hariseldon3786 probaby you can't do what she does....raising animals, grow your own food, be alone, no net, no Starbucks, no Wal-Mart, or whatever you fancy. She got skills and able to have a great life for her kid. Not everyone needs nonsense in their life.
@CHK MKHan but the big corps would find a way to destroy it. She is a conservator of the land. The hard part is that while she loves her life there, he children may want to move from the island in their adulthood. They will be in for a huge culture shock. While she has given them an incredibly rich life, they are at a disadvantage when they go to live off of the island.
Yes, for me that was the most cherished moment of the video. It added a lasting overtone through out the experience. I can only imagine the real life abundance lived through simple unity and gratitude. The peace, the calm.....the heart. To the mind that is still the whole universe surrenders. I am happy for them and wish them saftey wellness and peace ever lasting.
What a beautiful and sane human being. Even if her children decide they want something different, she will have given them the gift of knowing this life and experiencing this deep connection with nature.
The way they're dressed, the way their house is decorated suggests a deeper connection to the outside world that is not revealed in the video. She also sounds like a very educated person, and while one could recognize natural wisdom in a human being, there is more to her choice of words that suggest a more advanced cognitive development, something one does not achieve in isolation. So, we take the video at its face without knowing what is really behind it, and at its face everything looks beautiful. Other than that, we are approaching 8 billion mark, and and 8 billion people could not live in isolation on this planet. After all, humans are social beings.
Isolated but not lonely means happiness within, maturity within, intelligence within, realistic within, deep thinking within and etc.. People like her are inspiring and excellent for this unstable world.
I think this is how humans should be living. Amongst the land. I believe this is what we're built for. Another great video. I've been in this frustrating rut of how to live in this world. Now I see the 9-5 work, bills, saving, investing and the city life is not for me. I want to live amongst the land and have inner peace and deep spiritual meaning.
We are glad this video spoke to you, Cerelle. Maybe there can be some way for you to, maybe a door can open so you can live more in the countryside where you find peace and contentment. Stay positive. Warm hugs, Justine and Michael. 💚

@Elaine Archibald - when we make the space to immerse ourselves in our immediate surroundings, we have so much more to learn than from our mobile phones :)
Loneliness is a feeling just inside. You can feel lonely in a crowded place. Heaven on earth is when you do what pleases you and respects the spaces around you. Im glad she chose that.

What a beautiful place, what an enriching life. And yes, many people complain that if it rains, if it snows or if it is hot when it is an immeasurable gift from mother nature. Congratulations on such a wonderful life ♥️
This is the dream place we couldn't afford because we chose not to. Truly she is living the life. A life close to nature and with peace of mind together with her loved ones. ❤️
Imagine living in a place where everyone and all the systems aren't telling you what you have to do; grow up to take out tens of thousands in loans so you can get a degree and get a job so you can become another consumer and get more stuff and pay more interest and all along the way put relationships and people to the side, or worse. What most of us think is freedom is a trap and we don't know it until the chance is lost.
@Kanikapila Ho'ohanai How much support is required for people to live this lifestyle in the 21st century though? I doubt the helicopter route is break -even, let alone profitable. She's worried about the Internet, I doubt that they got wireless Internet on the island because it's profitable. Don't get me wrong, I'm not criticizing the lifestyle, or the people. They were there before all that. I'm saying the lifestyle as presented is made possible by a whole community of people supporting each other both on the island and in the larger Faroe Islands community. It's not rugged individualism that makes it go.
I'm watching this from the other side of this world... It's so peaceful there and the life they are living is beautiful and calming... Blessed are those to live with nature! 🙏

I felt alone and lonely when I was married to my first husband. You can sleep in the same room, the same bed and be devastatingly alone and lonely. I divorced him after 8 years and have never missed him once. Sad but true. I'm not sure how I even stood it for those 8 years, an eternity.
@@kikisylvester7195 He never loved you. Perhaps your marriage could be the result of physical infatuation. No wonder you felt lonely and alone after bodily pleasure was over. 😂😂😂
Not everyone can or wants to live like that. That is why people congregate in cities. They don't want to deal with raising chickens. They don't want to deal with the possibility that they may starve if things don't go just right year after year.
I live in Shetland, very similar to this, we have a certain strength from being in isolation, but sometimes it is dark so long, and short summers, it can be tough.
This is has to be one of the absolute best documentaries I have ever seen and it’s just over six minutes long! The filming and clips just perfect and really connecting. I personally love that woman’s soul and relate to her lifestyle very deeply. This video really connects you. I am sure many will connect with this video. Awesome 👏 ❤️🙏
This is exactly my mother's dream. Before she dies she wanted to go back to province and live in there. Unfortunately, she didn't make it. I guess no matter how extravagant or beautiful the city might look like we still crave for some peaceful environment. Wherein we can enjoy what the earth has for us. Taking break with the city life and be able to wake up with fresh air and beautiful sunrise and to have a decent meal with your love ones without being interrupted with social media and everything.
This just reminds me of my childhood life in the countryside, nostalgic. Truly unique lifestyle, and like she said it's not for everyone. But a lovely place for a getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life.
450 ewes live on the island. They produce 300-400 sheepskin per year, plus lots of renowned turnips that benefit from the guano-enriched soil. There are also guest cottages. 10-14 people from 2 families live on the island. The capital is not far, which they visit and where they even attend school. The helicopter visits twice per week with supplies and sometimes even tourists. So they are not as alone, isolated, remote, poor, or naturally-living as you might think. That doesn't take away from the beauty and peacefulness of the place, nor the hard work it takes.
She is so deep inside and she's not running out of words. She is just telling only the things that people could may understand. What a life, what a goal and what an achievement. I feel rich in doing all of that I'm doing.
There is a woman in my country who lives alone on an isolated island and she doesn't even have a house! She sleeps on the beach shore, grows all her food and hunts for food and she swims with whales. She's literally a cast away from many years ago but she chose to stay and live on the island.

I visited the Faroes in about 1985 and camped and cycled round the islands, not, alas, visiting Store Dimun, though we must have gone past it on one of our many ferry trips between the larger islands. It is a truly magnificent place, utterly unforgettable. There is a place where there is a small bridge, only a few yards long, joining the two larger islands. The water between them is the Atlantic, so I can truly say that I have crossed the Atlantic on a bicyle! The islands are full of history and wonderful buildings.
@orglancs - What a beautiful recounting of your adventure. Just like you, we LOVED our film in this incredible country - to travel there and make a series of films, on two separate occasions, was an absolute priviledge. The people, the place - it's magical. We totally agree with you!
A boy visited my childhood home in the 70s he brought us beautiful hats I still have them and stories about the faaroro islands I have never thought about until I saw this video
I live alone on 20 acres in South Carolina, and run a farm. All my food is produced on my land so i dont need to go shopping for it. I order almost everything i need from the internet so i dont go shopping for clothes or tools. I can count the amount of times i stepped off my property on two hands annually. Its not so different from their lifestyle. I would really enjoy living on that island. Im curious why they dont use a ship for travel, a quick rope climb down from the cliff and off onto the boat. Helicopters are extremely expensive to maintain.
In one shot they show a huge light on the cliff, this is most likely a Lighthouse and the family cares for it. The Government would support delivery of monthly goods being delivered.... thus the helicopter. Just a thought
I never bought my boys anything that required a battery! It could "play" by itself what was it worth? Give them green grass and fresh air and a parent who loves them. You will be amazed.👍👍👍👍💙

So much food for thought. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful film. "I like the weather during the winter time, as well as the summertime. You cannot pick just one piece of it. You have to take all of it. It's all or nothing." This quote resonates with me, and life is like this. You cannot pick happiness without embracing sadness because you will never grow. This goes with family, work, friendships, etc.
Wonderful that her words spoke to you so deeply. So glad we were able to share this story with you. You are so right, there is always happiness and sadness. Sending you warm hugs, Justine and Michael. 💚
Id want a piece of that honestly, our world today is so chaotic and full of people hungry for power and working in the shadows. What a calm and lovely place.
“I like the weather during winter as well as the summer time. You cannot pick just one piece of it. It’s all or nothing”. The dualistic nature of the universe in full view, the ying and the yang, the light and the darkness, life and death, summer and winter. Beautiful!!!

Wise words 🙏🏻
I agree! I live in the mountains of western Canada 🇨🇦 and I feel reverence every day for the beauty and wildness of my beloved land. Life is a gift
Be satisfied or move!
Wise words indeed
This is my dreamlife: far from noisy, rude neighbours!
💚
Proves man is not Social animal.
@@liviamon I wish you have your golden days back soon. 😊

Lots of nature, great people and ability to live in the moment.

to be honest, this is the perfect life. being one with nature, having a peaceful and worry-free life, and being contented on what you have is what makes a person rich inside her heart. it may not seem like much, but it definitely means a lot to those people who are trying to seek this kind of lifestyle.

She inherited that island from 8 generations of family. If I had a massive island given to me I wouldn't leave it either, but I have to work my ass off.
This is great - but what society and resources built and provided the resources to be able to live in a situation without famine? People starved, again and again in such situations, child mortality was about 30%. Survival determined by the seasons and luck... the true hunger that gnawed, again and again, at people in so may countries before we had such technology to relieve us - what blissful ignorance and 'real life and part of the nature'? Totally selfish presented as virtuous - and for her children she lives her desires... sad.

The hard part is that while she loves her life there, he children may want to move from the island in their adulthood. They will be in for a huge culture shock. While she has given them an incredibly rich life, they are at a disadvantage when they go to live off of the island.

450 ewes live on the island. They produce 300-400 sheepskin per year, plus lots of renowned turnips that benefit from the guano-enriched soil. There are also guest cottages. 10-14 people from 2 families live on the island. The capital is not far, which they visit and where they even attend school.

I found some logs today on a dog walk, I'll be back to collect them, perfect present for my girlfriend as I don't have a fire, beats shopping on amazon!
that's the irony, right? together but alone
The worst kind of loneliness is the one where you have thousands of people around you...
Feeling alone in the wild can give you some tranquility, feeling lonely in the middle of Alexanderplatz in Berlin is outright depressing.
@@serujioraiton2811 I visited there. It was a wonderful experience. Wish I could go again
Cause you fucking suck

I lived in the rubber plantation estate, when I was little. And I used to wake up as early as 3am in the morning to help my family in the rubber plantation . It was dark , cold, misty and , windy sometimes but the air was fresh .
