You can only do it worse with booze and drugs. No matter how much money you got. If Oscar finds that same fighter in him outside the ring that he is inside the ropes, he can kick the bad habits.
Followed Oscar from the Olympics all the way through the end of his career. He's one of my top 3 boxers from the 90's along with Roy Jones Jr. and Felix "Tito" Trinidad . This dude had a devastating left hook and never ducked or dodged any of his peers during his time in the ring. These boxers of today can't say that. Oscar fought the best of the best and was always a humble and respectable champion. He's not perfect like any of us but he was a joy to watch in the ring.

Always remember, during the mid 90s to mid 2000s it was Oscar De La Hoya that was the biggest attraction in boxing. And this was when Tyson, Lewis, Jones jr and Holyfield were still competing. Oscar's the only fighter in history that probably had more women in attendance than men at his fights.

Screw the late night shows the talk shows. This Mike Tyson show.....is the best!!! These men are my heroes growing up. Watching them win win win. I remember watching them on their days of glory and down falls. But now watching them in their humble lives and talking about all these life experiences. Incredible. They found a calling and helping many people. True saints. These legends are reaching out and shinning wisdom upon us. Today I learned that when you grow up a fighter you build a shell around your ❤️. To protect yourself from getting hurt in life. But when you lose your mother....all you can do is cry. And that's when you finally break that shell around your heart to finally show that you love the one person who always loved you no matter what. Gratitude Mike and Oscar.

Wow, very insightful. I'm a UK lad, Manchester in England where Fury and Bisping is from and there can be a lot of negative bias towards Oscar here, what we hear from Canelo and the rest of the boxing world hating on him, but from hearing the man be humble and explain his pain, i fully understand. What a guy the man is, one of the best fighting men there has ever been, there is reasons why we all are the way we are. Big up this is real talk, amazing podcast lads and its talk like this that opens peoples eyes to the reality of life. Killed me when he said he still has pain, i live with that too, gained a big fan in me Oscar, from hearing who you really are. Absolute champ mate.

Cejudo did a good job asserting himself in the conversation. He jumped in a little too soon on some of his questions, but it seems he is an integral part of this show now. I thought he seemed like an interruptive 3rd wheel. He’s done a good job in the past, but his presence didn’t add much for me on this particular podcast
A lot of people dog on Oscar De LaHoya but to me I think he’s the shit, the man was able to be an alcoholic and a coke user, not many even knew back then not even the people close to him and he still was a top notch fighter, elitest of the elite highest pull in ppv, 5 division champion, the man was bad ass… and now days he’s still cool as hell, I even enjoyed his commentary on that triller event when he was all lit lol
It was Oscar who said that if Canelo wants to be a true great or legend, he'll have to fight Charlo and Andrade. I don't know because we don't know them, but I believe that statement may have pushed their relationship to a point of no reconciliation

I can't lie, i have yet to subscribe to this newer version of the podcast, but I really appreciate the opportunity that this provides for fans to know people that we've admired on a more in-depth level. This was one of the absolute best episodes of Hotboxin. Deep, inspiring, and though provoking conversations. I learned a lot in this 1 hour video. Thank you to the legends Mike & Oscar! Henry is a talented and fantastic co-host and I think Mike found the right one with Henry.
Henry is also the real deal also and captured Gold in the Olympics to represent for us
@@erea7765 no doubt about that. He's fantastic in the podcast
Henry Cejudo is a great replacement co-host. He fits the show well and has good chemistry with Mike.

Hell no! he talks too much!

@UC2_MkOeVPMrm0XR-rgJ88eA You dont know shit about depression then. There is no feeling In the world worse than feeling that you're absolutely useless. Depression is a real bitch.
This is so amazing Oscar has earned my respect back god bless you man.

Modern day Confucius lol
Always remember, during the mid 90s to mid 2000s it was Oscar De La Hoya that was the biggest attraction in boxing. And this was when Tyson, Lewis, Jones jr and Holyfield were still competing. Oscar's the only fighter in history that probably had more women in attendance than men at his fights.
That's right!

When Mike said:" You a special person and we need you" ya saw when Oscar looked down? Wow, very insightful. I'm a UK lad, Manchester in England where Fury and Bisping is from and there can be a lot of negative bias towards Oscar here, what we hear from Canelo and the rest of the boxing world hating on him, but from hearing the man be humble and explain his pain, i fully understand. What a guy the man is, one of the best fighting men there has ever been, there is reasons why we all are the way we are. Cejudo did a good job asserting himself in the conversation. He jumped in a little too soon on some of his questions, but it seems he is an integral part of this show now. It's great to see grown men confronting & coming to terms with their emotional, psychological, & mental issues & working towards healing them. It's so cool to do this people!

6 division** but I agree 200%
It was Oscar who said that if Canelo wants to be a true great or legend, he'll have to fight Charlo and Andrade. I don't know because we don't know them, but I believe that statement may have pushed their relationship to a point of no reconciliation
