@@petroleumalleyin 1992 NATO had promised Russia that it would not expand one more inch towards the East and Russia believed them that’s why they got rid of the Warsaw pact and look at what has happened since. Did Russia invade Ukraine illegally yes but imo they had no choice but too they tried diplomacy with the Istanbul meeting in 2022 they even had an agreement but Boris Johnson told Ukraine not to settle and to keep fighting

No. NATO has never made any such promise. Russian leaders allege that individual politicians from Germany or the United States gave Russia informal verbal assurances that the Alliance would not expand.
No documentary evidence of any kind has ever been produced to back up these allegations.
@@asura3967 This war has nothing to do with NATO. Otherwise Russia would attack Sweden and Finland who both joined NATO out of fear after Russia invaded Ukraine and they both border Russia. Putin hasn't mentioned them in months LOL. This war is all about Putin rebuilding the USSR. He wants that to be his legacy. He has said for decades that the Ukraine isn't a real country. Wake up man he is making excuses NATO can do whatever it wants when it wants the only thing Russia can do is launch nukes which would mean the end of Russia.
Putin repeatedly said he will not invade Ukraine and no there was no written agreement that NATO will not expand.Ukraine has 2 written agreement with Russia that they will honour the borders. Friendship agreement and Budapest Memorandum read them.

The problem is the Germany& France sign to Minsk agreement and they never implemented agreement : then later on they admit they are not going to implement agreement at the same time they buying time to armed Ukraine against Russia, then turn around and accuse Russia for invading Ukraine.
