- This is priceless. Idina Menzel tries to sing "For Good" from Wicked...but it all turned out a big mess. She can't remember half of the words!
What is ever funnier is 1:32 into the video she says, "Go Ahead, RUclips it all."
She finally finishes the song with the help of the audience.

I mean, yes, it's kinda surprising that she forgot words, but the parts she forgot were KC's parts. not to mention it's been a long time sense she performed this show, and she's done a ton of other musical numbers since then. 😋 she's fabulous and sounded like an angel regardless of all the flubs. PLUS.... she's hilarious and adorable so yay Idina! 😍❤️
Sometimes when someone knows a song too well or have done it millions of times, it's very common to forget the words. It's happened to me loads of times.

Sarah Hartman Of course I wouldn't. I have been singing for 21 years and it happens 5 times out of 10 if I sing solo. It's in a performers blood to forget the words once in a while. I would rather forget my words rather not being able to sing. Lol.
MissGarland1986 oh my gosh! agreed! forgetting words as a singer is like a writer getting writer's block or a pianist missing and hitting the wrong key. It just happens.

When I first "discovered" Idina and tried to find everything of her that was out there, this was one of the first videos I saw. As I watch it now several years later, it takes me back to the time I fell in love with her. What a doll. Extraordinarily talented, yet human. Adore her still.

I forgot the words to my solo in a live performance. I was deeply embarrassed to the point of wanting to break down in tears in the middle of the performance. I thought the director was going to promptly replace me. It makes me feel good that Broadway superstars forget their solos too.

Well she is amazing... and funny. I like the fact that she is just luaghing at herself and the Go ahead just youtube it all.. Comment .. Sure if she has sung it for years, it gets a rutine, and then at one point you just forget it.. I worked as an actor and played the same role hundreds of time, and even then I sometimes forgot what I was supposed to say.. It happens.. And then you just have to laugh about it..

Even without being on tour with an off sleep schedule and countless changing repertoire, just doing a back and forth duet as a solo is kinda difficult. Also, everyone can sing along to the star spangled banner when is played but it’s hard to recall the precise wording when solo performing it amidst the tasks of singing it

This seriously happens to all performers. I know from experience. You can sing a song a MILLION times and then one day, when you happen to be performing, you seriously just draw a blank! Making a joke and laughing about it is seriously the best solution. Idina is so perfect, she could sing the alphabet and I wouldn't care. It would be the most beautiful rendition of the alphabet ever performed!!

i don't mind and i love this to death, but for someone who sang this 8 times a week for 3 years, i'm just surprised at how much she's forgotten. but of course it was 2 years ago by then. she's still amazing, and this is truly priceless.
