Im an EE French Fan,watch it each evening in youtube from Paris. I think its a Social theme,everyones day lives and mixity of an East End Suburb!Whites,Africans,Indians etc... Also,violence,love ,forgiveness after arguments or betrayal! I 've never watched Coronation,and id like to see how those Mancs people are in the show! Emmerdale.....?Yorkshire....i dont know!but it seems boring!
My 3 favourite soaps are EastEnders, Coronation Street and Hollyoaks. I'm glad EastEnders won though that was an amazing year for EastEnders like most years for EastEnders.
So as someone who has only seen a small fraction of the actual shows and storylines presented, are the clips a bad representation of what actually went down? Like, the least funny clips had the person win the comedy award. For dramatic performance, that guy's acting was really bad and made me cringe - I don't get how that performance was considered even close to nom-worthy. Thank god he didn't win - I thought Natalie and Kellie were both great. Donna's demise looked like it should have won best storyline, but although her goodbye scene was good, that Hollyoaks train crash scene looked so much better. I feel bad saying this about the kids, but I thought some of the clips of the Corrie girl and the Hollyoaks girl were better than the winner's (although I have seen later scenes of Amelia's where she was great, and she is my current favorite kid in Emmerdale). And, the partnership that won didn't stack up against some of the others that were nominated. And, while I think all the actresses were great, I am kind of disappointed that Natalie Anderson didn't win either award she was nominated for, because I've seen some scenes of her stuff involving Alicia's assault, and I thought she was brilliant. And, on a side note, I feel like the women's performances were much stronger than the men's. *Edited a spelling mistake
Soap operas have gone so far down hill. The acting now consists of hatchet faced people screaming at each other, ridiculously over the top stunts and appalling dialogue. All these shows used to be character driven and have quality.
Of course EE wins best soap. Like Cmon Hollyoaks and Emmerdale never win best soap. Oh and like Doctors never won best soap. So like Corrie and EE are Overrated
