- Well they've smashed it this year and I'm so proud! Congratulations to all the cast and crew, you so deserve it after the hard work of the past year, immense acting, writing and production!
Best Female Dramatic performance: Lucy Fallon (Bethany Platt).
Best Villain: Connor McIntyre (Pat Phelan).
Best Actor: Jack P Shepherd (David Platt).
Best Actress: Lucy Fallon (Bethany Platt).
Best Soap: Coronation Street.
Way to go Jack, have loved you since you were a 13 year old and started playing David, No one has given him the character like you have, I've loved every minute of it, you played the psycho very well, LOL

Well, the tide has turned...Emmerdale no longer at the top...wonder why? Aaron and Jackson raised the bar several years back and it's been hard for the other soaps to reach until now. Writers wise up the fans want more Aaron and Robert or Aaron and somebody. Even the Best Actor said that he was glad that Danny Miller was not nominated. Too many sub-plots and minor characters that become major issues and plots that go on and on and on. Wake up writers. Take a lesson from the past.

It had to be Phalen, he is the best villain on Corrie I've ever seen, better than Richard Hillman! So glad he won it, well there was no choice he had to win it.

Oh It's Shelly!!!! Loved her on Corrie. It couldn't have gone to anyone but Conner McIntyre, he was terrific, the best villain ever!

My favorite nightly soap. I love my Corrie and amaze balls fir all the wins. Bravo and so well deserved! Not just for the winner but to all of Corrie for taking on some very difficult and controversial subject matter and handling it with such finesse and class. Can anyone explain why the guy that plays Ryan in Corrie was on villain of the year. I didn’t watch that actual awards so I got no idea
Matthew Hanson he was in a show called doctors before coronation street and I’m presuming he was the villain in that show.

Yes, it's so touching to have all of the Cast Members come on Stage when they win. They do the exact thing on US Soaps. What was so sad was in 2009 when Guiding Light was about to go off the Air and all of the Cast Members (sans Justin Deas Buzz Cooper). Kim Zimmer who played Reva on and off since 1983-2009 said "Keep Fighting!" Sadly enough within the next Five Years several other Soaps went off the Air. As the World turns, All My Children & One Life To Live. Now in the US there are only Four. Days Of Our Lives, General Hospital (That Megan Markle had a small part on back in the day), The Young & The Restless & The Bold & The Beautiful.

Lauren Tierney, Hollyoaks is not exactly in the same league as this long running institution, not even worthy of being pitted against Coronation street. With the greatest respect I understand your comment if your young as it seems to me that Hollyoaks is catered for teenagers. I watched it years ago, terrible acting and they were like chavs !! Coronation street deserved to win all they got, especially as best soap, as that's what it is, the others don't matter !!
