Hello direct fix! I just want to ask if you have encountered the smart cover feature stopped working in an iPad mini retina. I am using the same cover for one year. Few days ago it stopped working along side with it my battery started to drain fast even in standby without the smart cover and iPad mini retina seemed to get a bit warm most of the time. I tested the smart cover and observed that the cover is repelled by iPad and only attaches in when moved half inch to the right. But still iPad didn't detect it as closed. Any idea about this weird problem?
How would the screen stay attached to the ipad once you finish replacing battery? in beginning we use heat to take apart the screen...I want to know how would i put it back do i need to glue it if so where can i find such glue or just use any?
My son has an iPad mini. When it's plugged into the computer, it makes that "connection sound." But it says "Not Charging" in the top corner. But it does get recognized by ITunes. Does he to replace the battery? He's had it about 2 years probably. It's has heavy use.
Thank you so much for this video! So, my daughter dropped the iPad in water. It had an Otterbox on it, so I thought it was safe after taking the Otterbox off it and toweled it off. I then plugged it in to charge overnight. Well, as you can imagine, it didn't turn on. I placed it in a bag of rice for 3 days. Nada. Do you think it's my battery or did I fry the motherboard? Can it be fixed? Please suggest what I can do. Thanks!
I am sorry to say that most of the time to repair an issue like this would cost more than just getting a replacement unit or upgrading to a newer one. Sorry for the bad news.
Hi Evil Girl, Thank you for the comment and you can try some heat to the back of the ipad to loosen the glue. Please subscribe to our channel: ruclips.net/user/pdaparts and if you need any parts for repairs head on over to our webpage: www.directfix.com
Vid worked great bro! Thanks.. I have a dead ipad mini.. won't turn on, reset, recover, charge, or get recognized by pc.. opened it up to check for loosies and found nothing.. I leaning towards a shot battery, but correct me if i'm wrong but wouldn't the pad at least show something on the screen when plugged in even if batter took a dump? smh.. thanks
Hi, Temperature will vary on the glue they used and sometimes the age of the device. Start low and work up. Sorry not the perfect answer put it is the correct answer.
This is actually easier than the early ipods. Those things were a b***h! They glued the lcd to the touch screen, you couldn't replace one with having to replace the other.

@direct fix, can i use hairdryer instead of heat gun, or anything that could possibly to dis amble it
+cool_1987 Maybe. It will depend on the hairdryer and how hot it will get.
Hello. Would my iPad reset if I remove my battery. Wandering should I back up my document first, before changing battery
Hi Christ Records 2016, Thank you for the comment and no it should not but I would always back it up just to be safe.

There is an adhesive kit we sell at www.directfix.com
You need to put the shield on.

It says "not charging" because the USB port isn't powerful enough to support charging for the iPad.
Is it OK if I don't put back the shield?

my ipad loses battery when im charging and just on youtube.. it just dropped from 10% to 8%
Are you using the ipad square brick charger? You can't use the smaller iphone wall adapters.

Seems like a lot of bull shit just to change a battery. Steve Jobs must be laughing in his grave.
