If you use the razor to start it, I'd advise starting it close to one of the corners and using guitar picks (Buy a lot, they are cheap.) to both hold open, and pry apart. This is my first iPad. My inexperience plus a rushing customer caused me to cut some unseen cable with that blade. Hopefully you learn from my mistake.
really great video and easy to follow. Sadly I think I ruptured the ribbon cable of the touch screen while trying to get the adhesive loose from the initial screen removal. I do have one thing I want to say about how the whole thing was filmed and that I think it would be beter filmed if the hands of the person in the video were rotated 180 degrees so they were coming from the bottom of the screen just as we see our own hands that way. But anyway thanks for making this great video!
@DrSnausage Spoken like a "Please take my money!" sheeple minded drone! FFS fool, have you looked at Work Them To Death In Sweatshops Inc's (Apple) profits year over year?!?!!
So I recently replaced my iPad screen. I know it is held together by Adhesive; however, Would it be possible to buy "replacement" adhesive to stick it back on? Also, I am replacing the battery, bezel, ( since I have no bezel ) and the wire in the top right that controls the lock screen, volume, and screen rotation button.
hello you have a cool and easy to follow video here so i have open my ipad 2 wifi model with ease...but my problem is the won't turn full charge its just charging all day... is there anything that you can help me... thank you in advance!
Thank you for the nice paced and easy to follow video. I've just ordered a new battery for my ipad 2 and feel confident that I can change it with no issues.
Hi,do you repair the battery of Ipad model A1396? My ipad A1396 is in good condition only the ipad keeps switching off after every 2 minutes even though the battery is 90%. It was a jailbroken ipad and I think it could be due to cydia app or battery. Do you keep battery for A1396 model?
I followed these steps to a T and i am at the point of being able to close it up, but it will not turn back on for me to test. Am I missing something to activate it?
What about the tools you use to take apart & put back the iPad for battery installation???? DO YOU SELL THESE TOOLS? Are all tools used in your video in ONE KIT? Or purchased one piece at a time?
+Jason Smith We offer this complete tool kit here www.fixez.com/16-piece-precision-repair-tool-kit and you can also find the individual tools here as well www.fixez.com/categories/repair-tools/ipad-repair-tools
i bought the replacement battery and the tools and followed these steps but my ipad still does not turn on. any suggestions on what to try next (besides scrapping the tablet)? it was working fine, was well taken care of, low usage. i really believe that apple killed it via software update to force me to buy a new tablet.
+K Wow Did you attempt connecting the iPad to your PC? See if the PC recognizes it and try to restore the operating system. Of course ensure your battery was connected properly as well.
I will guarantee you that your display screen will be stuck on 10X more than what you SEE here. I even have a heat gun and and it took me over an hour to sperate the glass from the pad without cracking the display. Just be ready to buy crappy OEM replacement screen if all you have is a blow dryer.
I thought it was a great video however i thought it would be good to note were the power cable is inside the ipad itself and to take extra care not to damage it... just a thought but in all a great video on how to take apart the ipad, not battery repair.
hi i done this all correct but i now get no picture on the lcd once i put everything back together but i can still hear sounds like when i plug it in to charge
+TehMoTi0nZz Possible your LCD flex cable is not fully seated. This can happen on the dis-assembly process. Double check your connections to ensure this is not the case. Thanks
I replaced the battery on my ipad mini, however it still will not turn on even with a hard reset. It also still does not how that it is charging. Any ideas?
+hassan riabi Have you tried connecting the device to your PC? If your PC recognizes the unit, restore it via iTunes but ensure to back up your data first.
The reason I don't buy a surf pad is that everything's glued together, as if the battery would last forever, it annoys the heck out of me. 4 skrews would be enough to solve the problem but no, ALL manufacturers GLUE the pads together which makes battery change (after 8-10 months) to a risky business. Grrrr!
I totally agree with you. The iPad is an expensive disposable item like disposable razor blade - just more expensive. When the dismal 1000 charge cycles are over, you pretty much have to throw away the damn thing because it's totally useless at that point. I am thinking about buying the new Samsung Galaxy Tab Active with removable battery.
Exactly... My problem though was the glue on my iPad screen ended up wearing down to the point where I was able to peel the screen off. Double sided tape worked for a little bit, but from the screen being uneven the bottom right corner started to chip away and then the screen slowly shattered.
I have problem in my iPad 2 . There is many phones or tablets get strong wifi but my iPad should be near from my router what's my problem and how fixed . And I have weak sound from iPad base what's the problem please.
+Fixez.com plis help me my iPad 2 is not open in 2015 it was disable it forget password then I pwoerd it off and now in 2016 I put it in charge it's not open and no logo
Mike S.---------my girlfriend had the same problem .make sure you have the correct WATTAGE USB BOX most likely it's gonna be the 60w an personally I would use apples usb wire & usb 60w box an let it charge overnight if need be but it should only take a couple hours hopefully that helps you. Good Luck.
Is there a way to unplug the battery without removing the mother board because my power button does not work and I need to restore my ipad bcause I did to many tries to type my password and its disable. PLease let me know

Yeech. They build these stupid things like Fort Knox. Whatever happened to "unscrew cover, insert new battery, replace cover?"
@DrSnausage Spoken like a "Please take my money!" sheeple minded drone! FFS fool, have you looked at Work Them To Death In Sweatshops Inc's (Apple) profits year over year?!?!!
Because form is more important than function. It's GOT to be slim! Even if it means serviceability and running hotter/reduced life.

+StoneAgeGaming We do offer adhesive as you would require this to reinstall the screen.

I would be terrified to do this. I'd crack it, forget what goes where or it would go wrong somehow.
+mi1964amigo This actually looks simple compared to other devices, have confidence and a clean work area and don't loose any pieces.
If you want, just get a little tray to put all of your screws and parts in and label it as you go. Just pay attention closely.
Great video and your parts are great order from your company all the time! Thanks
How much does it cost to replace battery? And where do you go?
It would help if there was a close up view, so we can see clearly how you disconnect them connectors.
I followed these steps to a T and i am at the point of being able to close it up, but it will not turn back on for me to test. Am I missing something to activate it?
Was it really necessary to remove all of those items from the iPad?
What about the tools you use to take apart & put back the iPad for battery installation???? DO YOU SELL THESE TOOLS? Are all tools used in your video in ONE KIT? Or purchased one piece at a time?

Nice job...well spoken and presented. Task is EZ if you have any tech skillz....completed two.

Well-done video. Nice and clean. But I would like to know what is needed for reassembly.
iPad mini battery repair
for reassembly:play the video in reverse
I thought it was a great video however i thought it would be good to note were the power cable is inside the ipad itself and to take extra care not to damage it... just a thought but in all a great video on how to take apart the ipad, not battery repair.
If I receive a defective item from your store why do I have to pay the return shipping?
I need help. when I was closing the door of flex cable (front camera and audio jack), the door pop up. What can I do?

I replaced the battery on my ipad mini, however it still will not turn on even with a hard reset. It also still does not how that it is charging.

Possible software issue or even hardware. We apologize for this issue, we are unsure how to proceed.

how to charge it,with 5.0v 2A ?direct pin's attachment (-) (+)
There is no way there is any adhesive on that panel your removing.
+Don Murphy its just an educational video, meant to be expedient so that your not watching an hour long video.
You mean "you're", not "your". Go to school, Moron.
+Mojo Lightnin "oooh you've spelt it wrong, spelt it wrong'........get a life drip!
You mean "spelled", not "spelt", you obviously uneducated imbecile. Invest in spell check so you won't seem like such fool.
Spelt is actually an accepted past tense form of spell. Depending on which country a person is from one is used more commonly than the other.
my iPad 4 is not charging.what should i do?
+Simon Badza First, start with your charger of course. If the issues continue, your dock port and or battery would be recommended.
do you need glue to put it back together
You should always apply new adhesive.
thkx
