I think the reason Caine always forgets why Zooble is upset is because they keep telling him to "Forget it!" and he takes that literally.
Yh, apparently that was confirmed by Gooseworx. At least from what I hear, take it with a grain of salt.
So Kinger apparently starts to remember things whenever he's in the dark. In ep 2 when he has the bucket over his head, he remembered Ragatha's first day at the circus, but as soon as he takes the bucket off, he stops remembering. That little scene and how he's always hiding in this pillow fort were foreshadowing that moment in the hall...😢

Also in the first episode he says "did someone say something about an insect collection?" While he's in his pillow fort. His wife was into entomology, the study of insects.

@@ryaneaston3487 Tbh, I think part of what keeps Kinger from abstracting is the fact that he's not mentally present very often. Like, whatever is left of his sound mind is kept for whenever he really needs it.
Blindfolding him to bring him back would probably do more harm than good in the long run.
I just love bubble's backwards message. They know damn well children aren't supposed to watch this. And yet, the amount of content farms makes it all to clear that they do.

Kinger is FANTASTIC Alzheimer’s representation, and I lost my grandmother in February to Dementia. I felt seen and felt like I was seeing her again. I genuinely appreciate it so much more than I thought I would
When kinger sees the angel and says “you look beautiful honey” all the eyes inside the mouth probably remind him of his abstracted wife
Consider that it was hundreds of eyes in darkness; exactly what he would've seen in the darkness with his abstracted wife.
Possessed Pomni says "How's the wife, Kinger?", and, coupled with the moment you mentioned, I wonder if this shows that Caine isn't afraid to insert his guests' actual fears and upsetting memories into things that are supposed to be scary, to increase immersion at the cost of being more traumatizing

This episode transforms Kinger's fascination with bugs and pillow fortress from the previous episodes from comedic effect to emotional weight.
It also explains why he was level-headed and open-hearted with Ragatha in Ep 2 while that bucket was covering his eyes.
WAIT IS THAT WHY CAINE PUTS THEM IN THE CELLAR??? To calm them down in the darkness and try to de-abstract them?

I mean... It could be correct. It might be literal sensory overload just existing in the circus with so many bright lights when you're already going insane and now you have so many eyes to take in all of the bright colors and lights, it would make sense that a dark void would be much more comfortable than a bright cluttered space.
Zooble keeps telling Caine to forget it and he does as told. He’s an A.I. after all, sarcasm goes over his head.

Zooble keeps telling Caine to forget it. So he does, and the two of them probably just keep having the same conversation in circles.
Also, since Caine cannot fix the abstractions, putting them in the dark cellar, where they'll at least be calm, might be the best thing for now.
I'm surprised more people aren't talking about Zooble's depression and not liking themself or how they look. That was also some heartbreaking stuff.
Seriously. i just watched one video reviewing the episode and they mentioned that Zooble possibly has Body Dysmorphia. That never came into my mind when i first saw the scene, but with that knowledge in mind, that scene and Zooble as a character is even more tragic

@@tahraethestoryteller6079 No. Exactly Body Dysmorphia. Zooble mentioned how they hate their body and in each episode, they had a completely different designs. Why? To find the look where they can be happy with themselves, but it never worked.
Although, Gender Dysphoria can also be a case ALONGSIDE Body Dysmorphia, since they don't even remember their gender.
Well considering that the body that all of the characters in (except for Cain and bubble) isn't their actual body, a sense of "I don't like my body" make sense and that zooble is *non-binary or gender fluid* (don't know which one was confirmed) it makes things uneasy for zooble
One thing I love is that Kinger's behavior in the dark was kinda foreshadowed in the previous episode when his head was covered by the bucket while he was talking to Ragatha.
On the topic of Kinger's wife and the darkness, I think it's the easiest answer: Abstraction is what happens when a Player disassociates to the the point of psychosis. In a world where only your mind is free, insanity is the truest form of death, and abstraction is a physical manifestation of that insanity and erosion. But in the dark, Kinger's wife found measure of peace from her madness; sensory deprivation and the presence of someone she loved soothed her just enough for her to relax, if only for a second.
Kinger was such a highlight here, his relationship with Pomni was so sweet and learning more about his past was nice. Zooble's therapy session was interesting, they haven't done much so it's nice to see what they think about everything. Though the circus seemingly being linked to Caine's mental state does not look good for our protags
Yeah, and there is a question that is in my head now... can Caine possibly abstract? Because, even thought he is an AI, he looks pretty advanced and has ALOT of personality ( not even couting with the fact that zooble's statement almost made in have a breakdown in this episode) so, can he go insane to the point of abstract?

This episode actually made me tear up. I already loved kinger, as one does, but this actually made him my comfort character. He's just a father and/or grampa figure with dementia that misses his wife.

The way Caine was trying to work with Zooble but couldn't shows that he is just an AI that can't truly understand how to help them. He believes that he IS helping by letting them choose out of 100 parts and it can't help that he seems to take "Forget about it" literally.

Theory: Kinger made the digital circus
The only piece of evidence I have for this is that he said "seven years of computer science for this."
I would say he made it because his wife was dying, so he wanted to make a world where they could both live with each other without the fear of getting sick and dying
Kinger and Pomni have been my favorite characters since the pilot so a episode largely centered around them was a real treat. If you watch Kinger he demonstrates good gun safety as well. When Pomni crosses his sight he raised the gun so it wasn't pointing at her. He spins the gun in his hand when Pomni gives it to him. When the angle appears he pushes Pomni behind him both to protect her and so he had a clear field of fire. Also if you pay attention the longer he is in darkness the more coherent and complex his sentences become from simple sentences to a complex monologue about his wife to a speech to inspire Pomni.

I think its really sweet that kinger gives pomni this talk and telling her that the worst thing you can do is making someone feel unwanted and the second she gets out she apologizes to ragatha
When you think about it all of kingers memory problems could be solved by a pair of sunglasses

What if part of the abstraction process does involve light, like in the way Nintendo games will recommend you take breaks after playing too long because the bright lights and 3D effects can cause migraines if stared at for a long time. Being in the Digital Circus, with the very bright lighting and eye-popping colors probably does the same thing, but you're in there forever.
If you look back at Kinger in the earlier episodes, we can actually see his lucidity and his attachment to his wife. Kinger first brings up an insect collection in episode 1, most likely because that's what his life would have loved to talk about and we later see what was likely his wife's room when Ragatha is taking Pomni to Kofmo. In episode 2, when Ragatha is worrying about Pomni, Kinger calms her down only when his head is in a bucket, aka in darkness.
It's also interesting to note that Kinger hating bugs could also be a reference to computer bugs, as Kinger brings up the fact that he had seven years of computer programming. Finally, the fact that Kinger glows in the dark when he holds his breath could symbolize him as the sun, brightly shining and leading everyone else around them-- while also being surrounded by darkness. Since Kinger has been the longest out of all the others, he is the Sun while they're the planets, with his wife and the other Abstracts being the void and the darkness of space.

The "Creature" was terrifying, possessed pomni gave me ptsd flashbacks to the Haunted Castle episode of Sonic X , and I really really (that's two Reallys) did Not like just how realistically render the dead body of the Baron or whatever he was, especially the:

I love Kinger in this episode, the "what" was the funniest thing I never seen in this show and he was the GOAT in this episode and the saddest backstory I have ever seen in a show.
Kinger's backstory and connection to his wife was so beautifully tragic! I liked him a lot already but now he might become one of my top 3 characters!
The whole episode is just wholesome and how sometimes being in the dark can help bring memories that were within the heart

I think the reason this show always hits me so hard is because on top of showing very real and relatable struggles with mental health, the way the characters react to these things also feels extremely authentic. Just listen to any time Pomni cries or panics, any time a character starts to open up, or even any time Caine shows that slight bit of genuine anxiety or general worry. It all sounds so real, so familiar, that it gets people to feel the emotion much more intensely.
They really amped up the horror in this episode and I am here for it. This episode was really good.
This is actually the first time an indie series genuinely made me cry, and this episode just made me love kinger even more

This was a very heartfelt episode all around! I Loved the moments between Kinger and Pomni, the fact that Pomni finally started to appreciate Ragatha and Zooble's admition of their problem touched my heart. Happy to see that we're finally moving past "Pomni has an existential crisis over being in the Circus" and get some deeper character development. I think the show is moving at a perfect pace, with conflicts being not too short and also not too long.

Jax grows more suspicious as to what he is, an AI or a human, the fact Caine clearly doesn't understand human psychology paints a darker picture of the abstracted people that they might have been able to be helped but Caine could only think to put them out of sight instead, and the fact Pomni's body could be hijacked adds to the disturbing idea that Caine can write a program to control their bodies, move them around, or as last episode implies he might have deleted the body of a human he mistook for an NPC at somepoint..but if he can't control their mind what happens to someone if he destroys the avatar?

A thought. The show is supposed to be based on “I Have no Mouth and I Must Scream.” Caine’s crazy but not malevolent like AM. However there’s a theory out there that JAX is an AI disguised as a human. Is Jax meant to be the AM of this show?
i think Caine got the "actual sentient AI" part of AM whereas Jax got the "asshole who likes torturing people for fun" part of AM

Honestly, the "Jax is AI" theory does make sense since it seems like they are the one pulling random objects out of nowhere like a key, shotgun, or vacuum cleaner. Nobody else seems to be carrying useful objects with them as far as my knowledge goes.
i was watching this one for the first time today and my sibling came in and watched it with me and when kinger mentioned his wife loving bugs, it took me a few seconds to turn to my sibling and all i said was “*gasp* did someone say something about an insect collection?” as my heart broke in two

I weirdly feel sympathetic towards Caine because I truly believe him when he says he doesn’t mean to hurt anyone. He’s just doing what he thinks he’s supposed to do and is trying to make fun adventures for everyone. Caine to me feels like a computer, something created by someone else for the purpose of helping, but like technology, he is capable of inflicting harm or good depending on how people interact with it. Him saying “what is your problem? I’m trying to remember but you and my brain won’t tell me” means he WANTS to help people, but he’s not self-sufficiently intelligent enough and relies on input from people to understand

If I had a nickel for Everytime I got into an indie RUclips show that had a non-binary character explain dysphoria in a way to almost make me cry from sheer representation, I have two nickels which isn’t a lot but weird it happened twice.
Kinger cemented himself as my favorite character this episode. The scene of him talking about his wife and is willingly to go back to being crazy if it means Pomni will be safely out of the mansion had me on the verge of tears
