Darren Munsell not what I saw. I saw a whiner who was partisan, who lied (and not just that day but in previous hearings), and who can't handle his emotions. He will reap what he sows. He's just a toadie for the corporate elite. Either you're a corporate elite or you don't see the 'men' behind the curtain my friend.

No, I'm a poor person who taught your children. I remember when decorum and integrity was the backbone of our leaders, both in DC and business. Now I see greed, exclusion of the poor and graft. Beware because the French Revolution taught us that the middle class must exist as a buffer between the rich and poor. The US middle class is being squeezed for every dime, with nothing given back in return, and eventually this anger between us will fester on both sides out of fear. You use labels too, don't you bro?

i agree, but Trump has just successfully put more conservative judges on the bench across the country than any other president before him. our courts are lost to us. he has stacked the decks while we were looking at the Kavenaugh case, and slid all of those nominees through. many supported by current democratic senators as well. That needs to be brought out more in the coverage. We have been duped over and over and over. Nothing short of the entire country getting into the streets is going to turn this ship around. And making sure every single conservative politician loses their seat in congress and the house between now and 20/20.

@@johnroscoe1773 as Barbara has said, you'd have to be joking John. World leaders are laughing at Trump behind and in front of his face. The economy has been on this trajectory for many years and very few real economists can point to anything Trump has done to contribute. In fact job growth has been at a slower rate than when he took office. This claim that minority employment is up because of him is such a joke. He hasn't done a single thing to make that happen. If employment growth happens in any economy it doesn't happen based on race...it's all or nothing. We are yet to see the detrimental effects his trade war will have not only on the US economy but the world. He's had to offer $12billion in handouts to farmers alone to make up for the disastrous impact on US farmers. Republicans would call that welfare and socialism by the way. He is economically illiterate, morally bereft and an inveterate liar. Guaging somebody's suitability for high office based on their ability to shoot their mouth off wildly, belligerantly, irrationally and mendaciously at right wing rallies seems to me to be a very poor standard. I pity his cabinet constantly trying to clean up after his "off teleprompter" brain explosions.

@xr7fan the burden of proof is ON BRETT! This isn't a criminal trial, it's a job interview. It's his job to demonstrate that he is qualified for the job. The standard for a supreme court judge is not "the evidence fails to show beyond a reasonable doubt that he sexually assaulted anyone", abiding by the law is the bare minimum standard of the average person. The standard for a judge is much higher! He has to show that, not only did he not assault anyone but he also has a judge's temperament. Which, it seems, he has not. He has been caught lying and has been dismissive and disrespectful of the people he is trying to get confirmed by. If you were rude to someone who was interviewing you for a job, you wouldn't get hired. Simple as that. The bare minimum for a normal job interview is that you must be polite and professional. The standard for judges is HIGHER than that! Again, in a criminal trial, all he'd have to do to escape liability is RAISE A DOUBT that he sexually assaulted Dr Ford. The question in issue HERE is "is this person fit for the extremely prestigious role of supreme court judge?" And I don't know whether he sexually assaulted her or not but having any suspicion or doubt that he may have sexually assaulted anyone suggests that he is not of the type of character that people should want to be associated with the supreme court. Statistically, it is very unlikely that Dr Ford is lying. But it really doesn't matter whether he did it or not now, as far as his confirmation is concerned. He has shown himself to not have a cool enough temperament for the supreme court. Tough. They can just pick the next judge on their list anyway.
