1- He was sick, and because of that framed for stealing money. But also because of that, he made friends.
2- his girlfriend actually had intention of killing him and also killed the other guy who tried to warn him and accused him of murder. But also because of that he made up his mind to become a defense attorney.
3- His mentor got murdered, her sister is accused of murdering her sister and at the 2nd day he accused of killing his mentor. But also because of that he met Edgeworth and had maya on his side.
4- Maya, his friend, got accused. Again.
5 - Maya, who is like a family for him, got kidnapped and he had to get "not guilty" When the client is guilty (and taking care of pearls while doing these) but also he met Edgeworth who is a 'friend' that choses death for a YEAR.
6 - Maya was at the other side of the bridge, pearls was nowhere to be found, Phoenix jumped of THAT bridge. (I am not gonna explain that bridge, i am tired) but also he survived and just catch a very bad cold.
6.5 - Maya, who he feels like a family of his, got accused of murder of his own mother while she is locked inside the cave.

A magatama is a sacred gem/carved rock in Shinto myth often associated with priests (like the Fey family for instance)

I've only gotten through two trails in the first game and the Professor Layton Crossover and I can already tell Phoenix Wright is as shafted by life and the writers as Spider-Man is.

Ohhh you don't (or didn't) even know half of it but he's surprisingly lucky and or tough/resilient, and I mean it quite literally he's been through stuff that would kill literally anyone and gotten out with minor consequences, this is not a spoiler btw, once he got hit by a car on complete accident, the guy got catapulted a few feet in the air, hit his whole body but also his head against a street pole then fell into the ground, what did he get out of that? A sprained ankle
Like life really tries to fuck him over but every time he gets up and carries on

This is one of my favorite things. Between the humor, the smooth, clear, SO expressive animation, and the voice acting! You voice acting is perfect! The delivery is perfect for the character and the comedic timing and expression and cracks and wobbles in the delivery. I love it. And all fit into 60 seconds. A masterpiece.
