VERY sadly, our admired Oscar Castro-Neves died on September 27, 2013. He was admired for his many talents, his joie-de-vivre, his endless creativity, and his beautiful music, among other merits. Enjoy his music while you can, wherever you find it!

This version of AOA6S is so different from that of his "Oscar!" release...
Yet this one here is more listenable IMHO

Well, many years ago, Jacques Loussier Trio played many Bach compositions in a jazz rhithm. The name of their famous album was Play Bach. It looks like that Loussier still records Bach compositions in rhithms quite different than the original one. All these experiences are very interresting. You can find records of these performances on youtube.

Nice performance. It opens new possibilities. I would have played this Bach Air on G String in a slower pace, to preserve the transcendence feeling that this music suggests.

How about his original rendition in his 1987 "Oscar!" album? The pace is indeed slower......

the real Adolf Hitler died in Nossa, Brazil back in 1984 at the age of 95. it would be shocking to admit who's voice that was on the guitar accompaniment. I know who it was. but I'm keeping my mouth shut about this recording.
