Lyrics
We are the rust worshipping the rain
Can I believe in anything
I’ve got a doubters mind
But that don’t give me the rope
It’s not enough
So call the cavalry
The cavalry
God give me some hope
‘Cause I’ve been living in a deficit
For so long….
Don’t turn the page ‘cause your blood’ll run cold
Parting the seas isn’t free and it’s getting old
You’re gonna choke when you drink from the fountain
We are the rust worshipping the rain
I’ve got a band aid on a bullet wound
If I refuse to break through I can never lose
There’s a trap at the peak of the mountain
We are the rust worshipping the rain
I’m so afraid of everything
I think my courage died
This is a slippy slope
So lock the cuffs
Because I’m powerless
So powerless
I just can’t cope
‘Cause I’ve been living in a deficit
A libertine
Stole the keys
And drove this machine
Without me
It’s too much but its not enough
So cold but I’m burning up
I’m trying to swim
But I’m treading water
Its unclear but it’s obvious
Three cheers for this emptiness
I’m trying to swim
Yeah, I’m trying
I’m trying
I’m trying
I’m treading water
‘Cause I’ve been living in a deficit

Epitaph Records is an artist-first indie label founded in Los Angeles by Bad Religion guitarist, Brett Gurewitz. Early releases from a variety of punk heavyweights helped launch the 90s punk explosion. Along the way, Epitaph has grown and evolved creatively while sticking to its mission of helping real artists make great recordings on their own terms.

“I’m trying, I’m trying, I’M TRYINGGGGG!!!”
But i'm trying water.
Best part to me lol
Favorite part 😤
As a relatively new Architect fan, I'm enjoying the hell out of hearing their old and new music. This song digs hard!
Thank you !
Im glad you become a fan of Architects
That’s awesome! You have plenty of great music to look forward to.
It's an enjoyable ride. If your Into more thrash check out the Guitarist Josh Middletons band Sylosis l.
You could say your enjoying the holy hell out of it
"We are the rust worshipping the rain", amazing song writing on this album, I feel this is just the beginning of a new era for Architects, I will forever support them
This has to be the most aggressive anyone has ever been when saying the word “slippy”
💀💀💀
I'll never say Slippy ever calm no more
THIS IS A SLIPPY SLOPE!
One of my favourite Parts in the song lol xD
Soundtrack to the end of the world, and the beginning of it.
Man song is cool, but did you ever listen to Humanity s last breath or Black Tongue, thats the sound of the end of the world.
the entire album is a masterpiece
And everyone was worried about there not being any "Heavy" songs. This is DOPE AF
There are barely any and the songs that are heavy don't really compare to their previous work. Don't get me wrong I love soft Architects, but this doesn't really do their heavy side justice. Sing screaming in the choruses that defined this band are absent here, makes the chorus feel empty to me with a lack of emotion that can't be heard in the cleans.
Exactly.
its fire
*_Impermeance_* is a sick track for sure and agreed.
@@sarcasm4371 Maybe y'all should try to appreciate more the music more than the heaviness.. Not everyone will stay the same, and the same goes for them, if you only want heaviness just go to some other bands that are heavier bruh
im here at 3 am listening a song from a band i dont know yet but now i want to be a fan
welcome to the show.
Highly recommend anything by Architects. They've got a huge range! This album is almost nothing like their previous records, if you listen to Holy Hell, All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us, and Lost Forever // Lost Together you'll hear the difference from those to this. The here and now is similar in style to this record as far as "softness" goes. You'll love all of it! Welcome to the Architects family
Oh boy oh boy you are in for a treat mate!
I wish I could discover them again for the first time. Enjoy
Enjoy mate. Hope you will like them.
I have never been disappointed by Architects, and probably never will.
Facts
If you were a true fan, you’d be disappointed at this generic asf radio made sellout album
@@mis8866 let people enjoy what they want lol
@@mis8866 Does whether or not someone shares your exact subjective view on what good music is determine whether or not they are objectively a real fan? Just let people like what they like. Music is meant to bring us together, not divide us. You found a positive comment of someone enjoying it just to tell them they shouldn’t enjoy it because it doesn’t line up with your tastes. This is energy zapper behaviour. People like what they like, big whoopee
@@mis8866 Oh sorry my lord! Mr. Conservative. Musical dictator!
Let them do whatever they like. It´s their band.
This deserves a music video.
Addicted to this album.
song is literally bonkers bro.
OMG this and "Impermeance" are the best songs on the album.
true
I’d argue Ordinary Extinction is but you do you bud
Is it too hard to understand that they can't be the same band since they lost their main writer almost 5 YEARS AGO? Tom is not here to save day. He gave us some of the best songs in metal and music history, but this is them now, this is Dan, Josh, Sam, Ali and Adam, without Tom, and it's fucking mental. Just learn to move on and learn that things can't be the same forever. Nothing will ever be repeated the same way it once was.
Well said.
This track genuinely feels stronger than most of the singles they dropped. Nice variety, some heavy bits, and a solid hook. Makes it puzzling as to why this is a "deep dive" track and not something they'd show off sooner.
dont wanna give away the heat before the album
yeah they saved all the better songs, the singles were mostly dull
The singles are radio friendly, helps expand their audience..
@@brothercartman Idk, I think the entire album is pretty boring.
@@brothercartman I kind of agree. Black lungs was generic, meteor was boring, but personally, Dead Butterflies was incredible.
The main riff sounds so much fun to play, I wanna cover this lol
Doesn't seem that complicated
@@jasonlovesmusicreacting882 not being complicated doesn’t mean it’s not fun to play
@@jasonlovesmusicreacting882 Dude. Pantera "Walk" is like two notes and a bend - that doesn't stop it from being one of the most fun things to play.
A lot of the fun riffs are also simple.
@@briantien7146 You're comparing a classic song to this lol
@@jasonlovesmusicreacting882 if a riffs fun to play, its fun to play dude.
I always forget how much I love this song's lyrics.
man that chorus just does something to you
This one instantly brought there old style vibes. Love it
as somebody who occasionally only listens to some of their holy hell songs, i love how melodic the new album sounds
love when he says:
"cuz i've been living in a deficiiiiiiiiit"
always sing that part out loud :D
One of the heaviest in the album lml
Love this album!!!!!!!!
That what i looking for.. architects Is good Is heavy not soft!!
Welcome back Architects.
I'm fucking happy with this album, and I've followed them since Hollow Crown. I'm fucking happy.
The bass in this song is a delight 💕
We are the Rust worshipping the Raaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiin!
New favourite song
best music ever
Yo pie pie u here? Ecsdeeee xD 😂
@@CountMeowcula my fav moosik XD
This one, Goliath, and Dead Butterflies are my favorites so far. INSANELY good tracks
Look little wonder ... The riff in 2:30 minute is insane
This is the most Architects song on the album.
I wait for this!!! From chile 🇨🇱🔥✊🏻
Wena compaaaa
less than 1k views? Bro I'll never have this good of timing ever again! I absolutely love this song and can't wait for the album! already pre-ordered!
Sam is pushing those vocals sky high, I truly appreciate the effort and the falsetto is just the cherry on top, I'm glad they stepped out of their comfort zone with this record
Thank God I work in home office, now I can listen to this banger of an album all day long🖤
the best song on the album.
В тачке постоянно на повторе 🔥🔥
Favourite song of the album ... atm :)
Why that initial scream sounded like chester bennington?
Very linkin park-ish
I LOVE THIS ALBUM. ♥♥♥♥
Possibly because he's using the same technique.
They just keep evolving , these last two albums are killer
Can we all just appreciate those panned low growls? They're brilliant and add a nice crispiness to an already cracking song, pretty sure Sam said in the recent interview that he experimented with a lot of new vocal techniques and honestly this album is absolutely brilliant in soo many different ways and i'm glad it's actually being better received than most things are these days, this is fresh and new and I'LL TAKE THEIR ENTIRE STOCK PLS THNX ._.
idk if the lows were sam. my bet is it's josh.
Architects on every album since Hollow Crown have had at least 1 or more soft/experimental. Real fans know they switch up every few albums. This albums amazing.
Listed 2023 (10x)
That main riff is groovy baby \m/
No matter how they tried to "hide" the heavy songs of this album in the singles we found them and these will have many more views I think than the singles. But in the ends its my opinion. I know they try to promote their new sound but these songs for me are better. Enjoy the new album 🖤🔥
The heavy ish songs feel forced to me, woulda preferred if more of the album sounded like flight without feathers.
@@sarcasm4371 I don't know 🤔
I loved everything -
@@sarcasm4371 flight without feathers was good. But not an entire album like that. It would’ve been way too much of a departure from their previous sounds and would’ve pissed of a lot more people than this already has. Not me personally. I fuck with this album hard. I’m all about bands trying new shit as long as they still “scratch that itch” that we all come to certain bands for.
Edit: autocorrect mistake
@@joshuabalsavage4695 I haven't listened to the album much at all since it released nor have i really felt like it. Just wasn't for me.
This is fantastic 🖤
This song is so good I can’t stop listening
Riff so dope
OMG 😱 im in love
Yes I’ve been waiting for something heavy I love it
Omg yesssss it’s out let’s go!!!!!
Love you architects 💜 magic music💫
This is Lit ! Thank you Architects for such a diverse set of songs coming our way on this new album !
I wish they would have a song like 7th circle just heavy all the way through no clean chorus just pure adrenaline
This blows all the pre releases out the water love it 😎
That song is somewhere from vintage collection 🔥🔥
Oh the lows in these new songs. I fucking see you. And I’m lovin it
Good song
I follow you from Egypt
that's awesomee
That opening riff tho! Sick intro guys!
This is the architects we know and love
I don't see it
@@sarcasm4371 cause your deaf man
Best track of the album
Acá un hispano . Que temazo!
Great song throughout, well done! 👍👍
Recently found these guys in pandora and I can say this band helps me kickass during my workouts when I’m in the gym!
Heard this off the “Full Album Stream,” got hooked, but never found just the song until now! This is honestly top 2? favorite for Architects’ songs? The songwriting, vocals, Drums 😎, everything. Masterpiece my guys. 👌
This song is related to me so bad because of course I've been living in a deficit for so long...
I have been alone for so many years and I really think that something like a libertine stole the way of how this life is lived now
Amazing lyrics, amazing song.
Fireeee
this is my favorite
Siento que estoy en mi peor y esta canción dice las palabras exactas de ira y dolor, gracias architects por permitir sacar mi dolor cantando a todo pulmon im tryingg!!!!!!!

@The Suicide Lyrics Wow enserio? jajaja
when viewing these songs I made sure to like first - brooooooo I loved how it sounded like a filter song in the start then the screams came and it rips.
"We are the rust worshipping the rain" HOLY SHIT...that is deep as fuck..
Im addicted to this song lmfao, glad to be architect bigfan💪😎🙏✌🤙
