  • We're a step closer to stopping ULEZ expansion thanks to five Conservative councils who have taken Sadiq Khan's tax raid to court. The Leader of Bromley Council, Colin Smith, joins me with the latest update on this legal action.
    We're fighting an uphill battle. We need to demonstrate the scale of opposition to the Mayor's highway robbery. So if you haven't already, please join over 23,000 people locally in signing my petition against Labour's ULEZ plan: www.garethbacon.com/stop-ulez-expansion

      LTN zones just push more traffic on to less roads . Why are the lives of those on the LTN routes considered more valuable than those ?

    • @thisisarandomstring
      @thisisarandomstring Год назад

      @@hazelswain9768 It is a typical approach used to promote all these low emission/traffic zones - firstly create a problem that otherwise doesn't exist then roll out a plan based on their hidden agenda. In this case, by squeezing more traffic into fewer roads they create more pollutions associated with the anticipated jammed traffic then propse the idea of taxing vehicle drivers initially by emission and later by mile. This is not a battle between pollution and health, dirty vs cleaner engines or rich and poor populations, this is a battle between authoritarian control vs people's freedom in chosen life styles.

The results of his consultation showed 68% of people and 80% of businesses were against the plan but still he ploughs on. Just who is he representing? The man is a menace. He spends his time hammering Londoners by constantly coming up with new ideas for taxes on motorists and ordinary people in a very poorly disguised attempt to plug the gap in his budget due to his appalling mismanagement.

    What I'm worried about this Ulez scam enforced by cameras will be a precursor to 'road pricing'. That would be difficult if the only cameras were on TFL roads. What I think is more immediate is a daily toll on vehicles entering London. I'm hopeful but not optimistic. The judiciary are overwhelmingly liberal, dislike working class people and hate cars. Dear Gareth Bacon MP
    Well done! Now I am an expert in judicial reviews. I have helped quite a few people win theirs. A Judicial review is much more likely to succeed if you can show you have a viable alternative so the judge doesn't have to get his hands dirty and take responsibility. Have you ever noticed how much less traffic there can be when schools are on holiday? Let's have that all year round without closing schools! Local and central government could fund a 'walking school buses' scheme for preschools & kindergarten schools. For example, 4 adults go to the 1st kid's house, pick them up, walk to the 2nd kid's house, pick them up, & so on. After school, the process is reversed. For a class of 30 that's up to 12,000 car journeys saved a year. It has worked well abroad & we should fund it nationwide here. Over a generation, this could really help reduce car use. i don't know how many pre-schools and kindergartens there are in London but you'll be able to find out! if you can get the ball rolling before the hearing then you can ask the judge to stay all ULEZ implementation until the walking buses have had a year's trial. Over that year you'll no doubt see a massive fall in traffic, pollution, congestion, a rise in quality community relations and more. What's not to like? Please see ruclips.net/video/ONgPbqC5coI/видео.html
    Now I have set up a parliamentary petition on this please ask all Londoners to sign it petition.parliament.uk/petitions/632757
    On top of that this policy conflicts with another of Khan's policies. Please see More than 95,000 people prevented from becoming obese thanks to ban on junk food advertising on Transport for London, study says - www.diabetes.co.uk/news/2022/aug/more-than-95000-people-prevented-from-becoming-obese-thanks-to-ban-on-junk-food-advertising-on-transport-for-london-study-says.html I am a personal trainer. The number one cause of obesity is poverty and this ULEZ proposal will bring about considerable poverty.
    Food that is high in fat and low in nutrition is mass produced and cheap.
    Food that is high in nutrition and low in fat is hand produced and expensive. Those on lower incomes cannot afford it.
    Generally speaking people who are cash poor tend to be time poor so they don’t have time to cook fresh food.
    Some people can only afford to eat one or two meals per day. If that happens then your body thinks that nutrition isn’t coming regularly. It will slow its metabolism and will store as much fat as it can.
    People who are in a rush often wolf down their food quickly so the brain doesn’t register it. It takes 20 minutes for the brain to register that you have eaten. Such people stuff themselves making the problem worse. What happens if that food is high fat? It gets worse.
    With the greatest of respect in the world those who are cash poor can be less well educated. They may not know what is best nutritionally for them. If that causes offence then we send our apologies.
    As you can see there is a great conflict in his policies. Please let me know if I can be of any more help.

    Pity Sadiq Khan doesn't put as much effort into solving London's rotting council properties, which i am sure are causing more chest infections and deaths than ULEZ, with children and adults, through mould and spores and rotting wood. Strange that he is keeping quiet about all of this.
