That was stunning! This part of the Nutcracker brings tears to my eyes every single time I watch it. I was lucky enough to dance it quite a few times as well. She danced this so beautifully. It's also interesting to see all the different choreography as well.

Extensions, articulation, presence, technique..wow! She has the IT factor. A mix of exceptional talent, intelligence and hard work and seems very humble, to boot. Phenomenal...and so young. She is very deservingly soaring the ranks of the Mariinsky.
What actually amazes me - besides her superb dancing talent - is that she's not "just" a prima ballerina. 😊 She's sweet, she's proactive in other senses, in other fields, she's creative, she's very communicative, she's an enterpreneur opening paths for a future that's certain to come when she (very unfortunately😢 but it happens to all) won't be able to perform the way she does presently. Luckily there's lots of time before that happens. 😉 We'll be able to watch dearest Maria for quite some time. 🩰👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 A privilege, by the way.

I saw an amazing rendition today by my local company from a few years ago...Louisville Ballet was nice enough to play it free because of COVID on the local network station since it was canceled live...I thought how worthy of Russian approval it was...then I see this, and I think, wow, no wonder the Russians are the greatest in ballet. I noticed that Maria (and any other Sugar Plums) are the ones carrying the scene. The focus is on Sugar Plum, she has the most to do, and it constantly moving. The Cavalier helps, but so do the attendants in this variation.
