I love the Facom ratchets. Similar Mac, Proto, USAG, Dewalt. Facom is sold in the USA by Ultimate garage. They also sell repair kits and the New B ratchets.
Facom is owned by Stanley Black and Decker, as are MAC Tools. But, Facom is not the European version of MAC. We still have MAC Tools in the EU. Both are their own brands and always have been, they just have the same parent company.
I have the facom 1/4 and 3/8 round head ratchets, the two I have have facom stamped on the front and France stamped on small letters on the back of the ratchets, I don't think the facom ratchets are made in France any more, I think there made in Italy and Taiwan now, the facom ratchets in your video can seize up if there not used regularly, I think this can be common in the round head ratchets, taking them apart and adding lube solves that problem, apart from that there well made ratchets for the money👍
The Mac dealers in the uk sell these ratchets, if yours goes faulty they just give you a new one instead or repairing, if you have a made in France one make them repair it, don’t swap it for a Taiwan One they ain’t as good as the originals
I use and like a lot of Facom tools, but what you say about them being undersized compared to American brands is true. As well as ratchets, I have some Facom 440 series metric wrenches, and they are significantly shorter than the equivalent sizes in Snap-On or Carlyle, which are the ones I have to compare to. Like you say, that length difference may or may not be a disadvantage, but it's something to bear in mind.

These ratchets are made by USAG. In europe, repair kits for these are free from any Facom dealer.

Perfect ratchet Nepros or Proto 90. Hard battle. My Favorites are the Wright tootsie roll. Daily for about 50 years

My favorite ratchets they do are the Rotating handle 1/4
The handles work loose on these old models which is why I suspect they changed the handles on the later versions
