- Plot: A couple rents a vacation home for a weekend getaway in a remote cabin in the middle of the woods. The rental home comes cheap but has a strict "House Rule" that people need to follow. Watch this scary horror short film to find out what happens next.

Loved this and i mean no slight to the actresses, but they give me daytime syfy acting vibes lol
yes I agree. I wanted this to be a fun light horror film and that shows in the acting and the dialogues 😃 😄. We were actually planning to shoot something entirely different with a much darker and serious theme but 2 of our main actors could not make it on that day and I ended up conceptualizing and shooting this in a span of 2 hours. The opening scene was shot next day when we were leaving from the location 😃 .
I never thought I could make something out of it provided how we had shot mostly impromptu with a severely limited crew and no script but I eventually ended up putting together something in the edit 🙂

@BiG_EaZyy Thank you. The actual story which we were planning to shoot needed an African American actress in the lead and without her we could not progress on that story. Hopefully we will make that film sometime in the future as it is a story which needs to be told 🙂

Moral of the story :- rules are there for a reason. Don’t try to break the rules whatsoever because you’ll never know what will be consequences. Excellent storyline. 5/5 cinematography. I really like all your uploads especially these horror films. Expecting more from you 🎉

Moral of the story, always follow the rules, Amy fell prey to the witch because of her crazy emotions. Amy should have listened to her girlfriend. Young people just don't think. I wouldn't have opened the door. I would have stayed close to my girlfriend no matter who or what was outside.And Amy got her girlfriend killed because of her choices.

Wow, that was an eerie one!! I LOVED the imagery, especially near the ending. It gave me literal chills, as if the evil was really being gazed upon. The predatory way it overpowered the girls was so frightening. By the way, THANK YOU for putting on subtitles! :) So many short-film gems up here that, alas, I cannot understand the words/audio.
The only thing I wish for this one: That the ending words weren't quite as 'rushed', in the video or the subtitles. I know we can pause it, but it just felt a bit quick to fully wrap it up. But I really enjoyed this, it was excellently-cast & the effects were top notch. On a funny side note...I have those same great coffee-mugs! :D

Splendid story..❤ Amy was an emotional soul so she fell prey to the witch's tricks.Even after multiple warnings from her partner was not sufficient to enlighten her ..The other girl was more determined to obey the rules..and she drifting off to sleep midway suggested something more untoward was to happen in the near future.. Plus the owl is considered to be messenger of witches and seen as bad omens .. So yess a must watch..!🎉

not ALL witches are bad the ones that practice black magik is bad the ones practicing white magic is good. magic wit a K instead of a C is bad magic.
When I see an Owl I think Namaah or Lilith, so personally I don't see them as a bad omen. That's just me. Lol.
@@motocrossgurl18 I have to disagree. Magic/Magick is the same as having a loaded gun. If you go out and shoot someone, you're bad. If someone breaks into your house, you're good. Magic/Magick depends on the user. Black magick, such as curses, can be used to curse a disease and not the person. It all depends on the user. Black magick is Left Hand Path and use for more "selfish" gains. White magick is used for right hand path and is used to help others. Neither is "good" nor "bad". They both depend on the person using them, but thanks to Hollywood, black magick is seen as "bad" while white magick is seen as "good". Btw, "Magic" is parlor tricks and slight of hand, "Magick" is something different.

Seriously, seriously creepy. The intruding woman scared the H out of me: that weird, evil smile. In this crazy world, one shouldn't open the door to any stranger, just offer to call for help. But, like Amy, I would have questioned the "don't open the door" rule also. Obeying rules without question can get you killed, too. I wonder if the creepy woman was able to intrude because there was a weakness from a growing schism between the couple. A lot going on here.
Loved reading you comment and interpretation of the film. YesAmy was an emotional soul and she trusted people pretty easily which eventually led the woman inside the house. I like you idea of growing rift between Amy and Meera making it easy for the woman to break through Amy. I had written some dialogues for Shakti (the intruding woman) to say in response to Amy's questions but when she did that evil smile we decided to get rid of most of the dialogues and just go with her facial expressions which fit so well with the mood of the film 🙂

There was a partial scene from 'Dead Silence' spliced in there at the end - the ghoulish face change.
yes the Tarot lady's face morphs into the old lady from Dead Silence the next one second frame is from (that is still an easter egg nobody has cracked ) ? . This was my way of paying homage to two of my favourite horror films of that era and I was hoping someone would find them these sooner or later. Well you got one of them right :)
Did you also give respectful *nods* to THE RING & maybe the original BLAIR WITCH & its sequel?....during the hypnotizing evil scenes at the end? It reminded me a bit of when Samara shows the innocents 'the well'. And when the Witch uses the owl as 'her messenger'. This was so great, this film....I still feel 'creepy' in the best way. :) I'll be watching this again.

Was there any specific story or history for such particular house rule? What story was being shown in the owl’s eye? Whose house was that? Can anyone explain please?
The story that unfolds in the owl's eye was from the same house but decades earlier when the lady who lived in that house was killed by home invasion which eventually led to the house rule which said - don't open the door after sunset.
If you want a refreshing change in horror stories try reading…. Don’t play Games with The Builder …..just finished reading it and it’s a belter.

I love these videos! My only disagreement with this one was that Mira was the one that died. I guess I suck at reading Tarot cards. Lol. With "The Lovers", "Judgement" and "Death" being the ones flipped over, I thought Amy, the least faithful one at the time, would be the one to die. I thought "The Lovers will be judged and one, if not both, will be brought to death." Still. I loved it. Great work! I'm glad I found your channel! ^-^ v,,
You are completely right about the cards however we decided that Mira should pick the Death Card as her love for Amy was pure (although she was a bit cold and rude at times ) and hence Mira kind of energetically and subconsciously attracted that card towards her and ended up being killed at the end. Sorry but I didn't like it at all. The actors where awful imo. The idea of the rule to not open the door was good, but the execution of it was awful.
That's alright films are highly subjective - some people loved it while some hated it. It's one of those films where if you connect with it's universe it becomes immersive and fun and if you don't then its becomes downright awful and cheesy. I agree the acting could have been much much better but as I have mentioned in another comments this film was shot and conceptualized in a matter of 2 hours as the original script needed to be scrapped at the last moment as our 2 main actors could not make it and as we were supposed to leave the location next day so I thought what the heck let's give it a shot and 100% of this was done spontaneous on the set with the opening scene being shot the next day while leaving. Many things were added in the post with whatever limited footage we had - not giving these as an excuse but just stating the situation around how the film came to be and how I am proud of what we achieved in so little time with extreme limitations. When you want to have a night somewhere, you must follow the rules. Then, don't let someone unknown in, especially when you're live in a secluded place. Most importantly, don't go to any suspicious AirBnB like this one.
I wonder, if Amy is able to recover one day, will the police and the families believe her, since many people nowadays think any supernatural occurences are just SCIENCE?
Great insightful advice 🙂. Although what happens to Amy afterwards is open to interpretation but from my perspective Amy would never be able to come out of the facility as when she would try to explain this to people they would not believe her and she would never be able to convince them otherwise and hence stay put where is right now. That's what I think but maybe somebody might have a much better story chalked out.
@@jiyakapurfilms That's literally Jack in the Box (2019) in nutshell. The police ended up locked the main character in prison and let Jack lives. In real life, some people think these ghost things as 'mind games'. We live in society

I loved this one but my personal favourite is cabin number 9 from these guys so far, that one really had an amazing unexpected ending to what I was thinking .. I like the quirkiness and offbeat movies 🎉

This short film would have landed a lot better if there was some added but if narrative expounding on why 'rules are there for a reason.' It's not true that all rules have a good reason but if we had seen some sort of evidence that the girl who opened the door had a history of breaking rules, it would have made me care much more about what she did. As it stands, we all knew she was going to open the door and something bad was going to happen, which is fine. Predictability isn't a bad thing. But it all happened without me caring about any of it.

The ending was kinda goofy. Why the heck did she need that knife lol she did not even use it she just mauled them like some sort of animal. Rest was good. Also she never got to know that it was over😂😂😂

Thank you for showing this film. It was well-shot, especially the scenes without light. Very creepy. The introduction of the witch had nice pacing. I’d like to offer some observations. I was unsure why a couple would rent a house in the woods that has a “don’t open the door after sunset” rule. I get that it’s cheap, but with a rule like that, would two women, especially queer women, take that risk just because of the price? Also, the two women did not really act like a couple. They seemed more like a daughter and mother. Not because of the age difference, but because of how they talked to each other. Maybe extending the scene where Amy texts her friend about the impending breakup to include some discussion of why her partner acts the way she does. Something like that could be done very quickly. Finally, Amy says that the cabin has no wi-fi but a land line. However, we see her using her phone to text. So she must be using her cellular data. On the whole, your film is enjoyable and please give my kudos to the woman who played the witch. She was great! Good luck at the festival!

This film is part of our House Rules universe and incase you have not seen that film you will find that these films are based on such weird rules where people get the house at stupidly cheap rate but it comes with some very weird rules. Some people go out of desperation (House Rules) while some go out of greed (this film) and that results in an extremely clouded sense of reasoning. I agree with you point regarding the couple not behaving like one - we ended up cutting some parts in the edit (while texting) which actually explains why Mira behaved so coldly but in the hindsight I think we should have kept those in. Coming to your last part Amy actually says "there is no network in this area but we have a landline" suggesting that they have wi-fi but no cellular network. Thanks again for watching the film with such a keen observation.

@@EPHZAM 100% agreed. No Doubt. Even the film was so underrated - It is still one of my fav horror films - loved the sound , the atmosphere and ofncourse Mary Shaw. Dead Silence and Ring had those entities which stayed in the mind long after the film finished.
@@jiyakapurfilms also one of best ghosts is that of the girl in Shutter (Thai) movie in 2004. That is a good ghost still it's scary. 💯

That first jumpscare made me jump and say "Ah, sh*t motherf**ker". 🤣 That's when I felt this was gonna be good. It wasn't the best horror short I've ever seen, but it definitely was the worst. I enjoyed it for what it was and the ending didn't bother me cause I don't mind reading something if it gave information relevant to the story. I subscribed and I'm going to check out the rest of your films. Can't wait to see your next project. 👍👍✌out.

This is a decent short. However, it is disappointing to see the easiest part mucked up. The article at the end would have a greater impact if A-It was put in frame better and B- Was written correctly. Out of the whole story that should be the easiest part and yet it contains lousy grammer and clear errors. Such as "Amy has been has been in complete shock" "Keeping a possibility" should be "Keeping the possibility" to prevent redundancy in that sentence. That would make the piece more fluid and believable as a News Article.

@freezoneproject567 there was not just Dead Silence but a single frame from Insidious as well in there as that was my way of referencing and paying homage to 2 of my fav films of that era. I wanted to see how many people would remember Mary Shaw and how lovely it would be to have that conversation 🙂
