Amazing work mate! Really enjoyed the slow build up and then how the movie took the speed with a strong storyline - loved it, specially the ending. Love from Canada❤
Just found this after being posted a month ago- I loved it from beginning to end- great actress. The found footage reminded me of cursed tape from The Ring- same vibe. Thank you!!! 👏
The found footage was one of the SCARIEST I have every watched. Kudos to you for making such a great atmospheric horror short film. I can see the limitations in some technical aspects due to small budget but I easily forgot about that once the story reeled me in. As a woman filmmaker myself it makes me so proud to see a fellow woman filmmaker making such an impressive horror film. Horror genre is underrepresented by women and you have made a great little film.
Thank you so much for your kind words. I completely agree with your point of underrepresentation of women filmmakers in Horror genre. Many film festivals where I had submitted this short film they were surprised that this film had a female director :)
Great movie. Loved the eerie atmosphere throughout the movie. The only thing i suggest is, the texting was really hard to read. I had to stop and try and read it and one I could not make at all. Not sure, maybe a different font? Or have it bigger and typed out on the screen as they are texting.

So did she finish the book before dying? If I make it big I am never buying a former writer's house. Also I found out that Crocs were made back in 1952! Who knew?
@@jiyakapurfilms my cheekiness aside, this film was very well done and has me very curious as to what was behind the fireplace. I know my tragedies have influenced my writing quite a bit. And I do love watching for little things in media; shadows in the background, quick flashes of things the protagonist might not see but we're made privy to, etc. I did think it was funny to see the person running through the yard in Crocs. I know sometimes getting a wardrobe right can be tricky, especially with time constraints. On a side note I also enjoyed Free to a Good Home, very well executed!
@@KrazyKuno having a keen eye for details is what fuels the curiosity of the mind so that is a great thing to have as a writer. I actually realised the crocs thing while you noted it out 😀. I completely agree with you. Infact the script was much longer than what was eventually shot as I had limited production budget and timeframe. There were some scenes that were supposed to be shot outside the house with Sarah near the tree where we see the hanging scene (VHS tape) and then some in the forest nearby but we had to scrap them eventually keeping in mind the limited resources we had at hand. Thanks for watching the movie 🙂
😀 That was not planned and that happened just in the moment - funny thing and unsurprisingly that paper caught fire and we had to put if off later at the end. One could even see some smokes coming out of that paper ball if you pay close attention 😁
Some interesting imagery and odd editing choices. I think the script needs work and the whole thing could probably be pared down to 15 minutes or so. I needed something to help me relate to this woman, to care what happened to her.
Wow... really scared by watching the visuals. Sound was awesome. Great work. Is this indian made? But to be Frank. I didn't get the whole story. I mean about the mystery part of the house. What is the real mystery of the house
SPOILERS AHEAD : First of all thanks for watching the film and I am glad you enjoyed it. This movie was shot in rural Europe. Coming back to the story - the house has a life of its own and chooses the people that it wants to live there by means of finer coincidences which don't seem so at the surface. Every story in the house is unique to the person who inhabits it at that point in time and once that is over the house searches for the next person. The common thread connecting all these stories is the Writer's Block which every person was going through before they entered the house and ended up getting rid of that Writer's Block but that of course came with a price they had to pay. The energy that is present in the house creates its own unique story like in case of Sarah she had lost her child so the House manifested her fear, pain and insecurities in the form of the tape which deals with the loss of a child etc and then it eventually takes over Sarah and Sarah ends up writing her Bestseller. What happens to Sarah whether she lives or dies is open to interpretation as her story now becomes a fodder for the next person entering the house where we end the movie when a new writer going through a creative block stumbles upon the news of the House up for sale. Little does she know that it was the House that chose her not the other way round. Hope this helps the explain the mystery a bit :)
@@jiyakapurfilms ohh...so the story is created by the house on its own to manipulate the people who comes there. That's why it's unique to everyone. Right??? So for Sarah, it is a story of a lost child, for another person the story will be different. Like that? Wow...nice idea.....any way thanks for the explanation. Great work.. really scared by the ambience created by the visuals and sounds...look forward to your other works for the future.
Those were the shittiest windows. The seal must have broke and the gas escapes, which allows air and moisture to get between the panes and impedes on your view out\in, and makes them look icky. Lol
Thanks for watching the film. The look for that frame actually went well with the scene as I was going for a deliberate dirt look . But I agree that window does need a change :)
I am so sorry this was an editing mistake as this was our very first film. As a workaround you can use the English Subtitles which would show you the text conversation.
Regardless of all the rest, the way the phone messages are shown is just gross. Lessons: 1. don't make font shrink down if there's more text, 2. at least give a larger minimum font, 3. put the profile pic of the two people on opposites side of the message! 4. Give her a lighter which is really broken, not one that works! 5. Make a page that looks a bit more like a real website.
Yes I so much loved Ring when I saw it for that first and then I saw Ringu the original Japanese version which I thought was a horror masterpiece. The way they create tension and horror purely through atmosphere without necessarily just relying on jump scares is so impressive. I wanted the VHS scene to have that same eerie abstract feeling and yet contribute to the story progression and (conclusion in some ways) at the same time. Most of the footage including the choice of colour and location was shot keeping in mind the limited production budget but in the end it went well with the 1952 timeline. Thanks again for watching the film 🙂
Okay, honest opinion. I thought it was cool, but first thing I thought of was the ring… I felt like I was watching the exact same footage from the movie the ring…and you have to be more creative in a way that’s uniquely yours. Instead of taking things from other creators, you have to find a signature, that doesn’t feel like you copied it from someone else. I love the story, but I don’t like the found footage…I don’t think it’s special. I felt like it really took away from whatever creative path you were on in the beginning. I like the idea of a house having a life of its own and influencing the people that live in it, although it’s nothing new, but the way you set up your story was pretty original. The actress needs to work on her acting skills. You don’t always have to make dramatic movements for facial expressions to get your point across…. And a lot of that over exaggeration really takes away from what you’re trying to achieve. The over exaggeration does nothing for you as an actor or for the film. The way that you used to sound too intensify the feeling of fear was phenomenal. I think you have the right idea, but you need to work on some of the things I mentioned if you want to be great. Sometimes less is more…. You don’t always need to answer all the questions. The viewer doesn’t always necessarily need to know exactly what the actor is thinking or feeling… and if they do, there are ways to depict that without over exaggerating. Please don’t reimagine other peoples ideas…it’s very obvious where are you got the idea from and it’s not a good look for any creator. If you want to be recognised you need to find what makes you special in your own way.
Thanks for watching the film and thanks for your feedback. Will surely take away some of the points you mentioned and try to implement in the upcoming projects.
@@jiyakapurfilms Yeah, I’m excited to see you guys learn, grow, and develop as creators and as actors. It’s always a process…so try not to get discouraged. Learning to speak without words, or learning to silently convey a message is something that is very powerful and that every creator needs to learn, its an absolute game changer. Learning non-verbal communication is so important. Body movement, posture, gestures, eye contact, touch, space, and voice are all ways to communicate… they are tools you can use to tell a story or convey an emotion…but don’t over do it, less is more! You guys have something special already… and that is the way that you use sound. Try taking some workshops targeted towards helping to develop your abilities. Don’t be afraid to take risks, but stay away from the over dramatic death sounds…lol. Sometimes fear is so simplistic… the viewer doesn’t need all the answers, and fear of the unknown is easy for viewers to connect to because its something we all know well. The viewer just needs to feel the simple escalation of suspense and fear whether through the protagonist or through the space, etc. Thanks for hearing me out, i want to see you guys succeed and grow together.
@Lily DeWinters You have a very good eye for cinema I must tell you that. I completely agree that cinema is 100% visual storytelling. In fact the era of Silent movies was cinema at it most purest form in my humble opinion. Although dialogues/sound came later on but fundamentally cinema is pure visual storytelling at its core and sometime we as filmmakers with so many tools at our disposal tend to forget that. If and when you have the time I recently made a micro short "The Night Wash" ruclips.net/video/bh6HZfhlgYs/видео.html and would love to have your feedback coming from one cinema lover to another. This micro short was conceptualised , shot and edited in a span of 24 hours as part of a filmmaking project.
@@jiyakapurfilms Awe, thank you for the feedback! Although I’m opinionated, i could never put something together like you guys have. Believe me, I know it must be very complicated. I live in Malibu ca…i grew up there. All of my friends are actors of their parents are… we spent a lot of time on sets as kids watching everything come together. The way complete chaos was able to become become a beautiful masterpiece was always amazing to me…but like I said, something I could never do. I live silent films too, and I can totally understand the excitement of wanting to utilise every tool. I will definitely check out the video you attached! One of the things I really love that you do, is that you don’t use typical American actors all the time. You use actors with different dialects and accents. I’m excited to watch you guys grow and develop yourselves…finding your signature will be a monumental moment for all of you, im sure. If you ever hit a block in creativity I’d be happy to offer some ideas. My email is my name as you see it above, there is an underscore_ in between my first and last name and its at iCloud, no spaces. Sending love to all of you!
Its been a long time, yet the grief of losing your child would weigh heavy on the heart for the rest of your life 🤦♀️ clearly shes still struggling 😮💨
@@brey1720 Sad but true. This was the core theme of the film as well as it was that grief and the loss of her child that somehow led her to that place and then that pain and loss eventually manifested into the story that follows.
Why do people always show in these horror shorts someone texting all the time? Secondly, the writing of the texts are way, way too small. How on Earth are we as viewers supposed to read it? God forbid you have eye problems, like most of us do. A lot of times uf you can't read the writing, you miss the whole story. 😡
I apologies for this as we did not test this on phone while editing and just went with what we could see fine on computer screens. I have received this feedback from a lot of people for this film. As a workaround please use one of the English Subtitles as they also contain the texting. Thanks for taking the time to watch this :)
Sorry you felt that way and I would like to apologies for that as this was edited on a big screen and we did not realize that the text should be tested on small phone screens as well. I have had that feedback from other people. The one way to go around this is use English subtitles (not the auto generated or US one) which would also include the transcription of the text. If you have the time and would like to give it another try do watch it with the subs on (especially during the text ) and text is very important to the storyline.
Yes I was cycling through different thumbnails as the other thumbnails had extremely low click through and its no use having good content out there if nobody clicks it in the first place. This thumbnail gives an idea of sort of theme/atmosphere you can expect from this short film without necessarily encountering the same character in the film. Thanks for watching 🙂
Thanks for watching the film. Actually it is open ended and we don't know for sure whether the ghost kills her or not. The house manifest into various physical forms depending on the person currently inhabiting it and then one way or the other the writer's block is cured but the price that they pay in return is that they become a part of the house and house becomes them :)
@@rockydavis94 Yes I agree the found footage in the movie was pretty abstract and not easy to follow. I am also working on a drama which is not horror. Will let you know once I post it. Take care :)

I always admire people who give honest constructive feedback as it helps me to grow as a person as well as a filmmaker :)
good story. make me scary enough. can"t sleep

You're welcome!
Really like the actress and your movies are creepy.
Thanks for watching :)
well i know why she had the car wreck that killed her kid she drives down the middle of the road .the divider line isnt there to follow lol
You got a point there 😀
Very frightening ending.... I'll never watch this again!
This movie is less frightening and very simple - hope you will like it ruclips.net/video/SVw3QWCCBDs/видео.html
@@jiyakapurfilms Another great one! Keep up the excellent work.
Thanks a lot. Glad you liked the film.
Very good but very ‘Ring’ish. Still good!
Glad you liked the film.

I would love to hear your feedback :)
Its been a long time, yet the grief of losing your child would weigh heavy on the heart for the rest of your life 🤦♀️ clearly shes still struggling 😮💨
I agree
@@jiyakapurfilms it's sad that most of society nor workplaces understand that 😮💨& of course grief may cause writers block.
Thanks for taking the time to watch this :)
the whole film is a waste of time if we cannot read text, was text relevant, I still don’t know.
Great movie, but the ghost woman in the thumbnail has nothing to do with it, it's not even a character in this short
That area Don't you have any neigbors?
Nope not close enough 🙂
It was too boring. I kept waiting until the end for something to happen. It was just a waste of time.
Yeah I understand. Everybody has a different taste when it comes to movies.
This was a combination of different movies put together badly. Please try again. No substance at all
Thanks for watching 🙂
🤔🤔
🙂
@@jiyakapurfilms So the ghost kills your character? That's what I hate about horrors
@@jiyakapurfilmsweird, but I have autism so I can’t understand certain things on television. I’d like to see you in another movie, but not a horror
@@rockydavis94 Yes I agree the found footage in the movie was pretty abstract and not easy to follow. I am also working on a drama which is not horror. Will let you know once I post it. Take care :)
THE WRITING IS TOO SMALL
Please use the English Subtitles as they contain the writing text as well.
She's a better actor than Tom Hanks! She could get an Emmy for this! The writing & production was Emmy material too! 😊☺️😊
The totally boring beginning and the ending much copied from 'Sinister' but with repulsive images. A total nonsense.
Cheers thanks for watching
