Hi...When you are talking about the percent of white folks in each state, does this represent European ancestory or descent only, or include Persians, Jews, Arabs, Indians ,Gypsies and other caucasians of a non European origin?
Remember the reasons European people immigrated to the USA from 1860's to 1920's, Irish people were starving because of the potato famine and Italians came in huge numbers. Fact : USA has more people of Irish ancestry than Ireland does! Also, some of the soldiers killed with Custer were Irish and Italian immigrant soldiers!
And people didnt like the Irish and Itaians when they first came over.

There's a lot of diversity to white people. I've got British, Irish, German, French, and a little Scandinavian in me. Quite different cultures there.

bernard brown Maybe because all the resources go those areas, and with a history of rules and laws keeping people of color out of certain neighborhoods, schools in ethnic areas don’t get the funding, the list goes on and on.

You have obviously never traveled, and have seen that crime exists everywhere, and in actuality crime exists in gated communities too, it’s just covered up better, and not thrown all over the front cover of every online site, magazine cover or tv and or tablet screen. I lived in Baltimore and I was in Washington, D.C. in 1968 at the height of the riots when you decimated the city and shortly thereafter I went to Detroit only to see burned out neighborhoods. Today, those neighborhoods are still in ruin. And speaking of neighborhoods, remember when they used to call the Bronx, NY "the Beautiful Bronx"? Not today. Not after you got a foothold on those neighborhoods and spray-painted your way through them and the NYC subway system. Minorities blight every neighborhood you get a foothold into!
A lot of these states are actually very peaceful and exhibit very low crime rates as well.

People with the least amount of experience living around non whites have the fewest problems with diversity. That's why southern whites were considered the most racist whites because they lived among large numbers of blacks while northerners were considered non racist.

My entire life has been lived in two of these states. Nick asked, "Why do white people like the cold?" Consider - a thousand years ago people with higher melanin concentrations in their skin lived in the hot areas of the planet, but people with low melanin concentrations in their skin lived in the cold areas of the planet. It's only been within the past 200 - 300 years that people began migrating globally. There's a lot more to this conversation but I don't want to comment a text book here.
This is similar to why people in colder places are often taller than those in warmer places; the mass allows more body heat to be held.

Homogenous societies have the least amount of crime. One example is Japan. The upside of diversity is also its downside.

What is the upside of diversity?
D N - For our country and for businesses, diversity brings a richer pool of talent from which to draw. On a personal level, not only do we reap the above mentioned benefits, but we get to enjoy the food, art, music, cultural traditions, and new (to us) perspectives of people we get to know form other cultures. I'm sure RUclips does, just got to look for the right title. Something like "The 10 Worst Socialistic, Crime Ridden, And Racially Diverse States." Or might even be "The 10 Most Overtaxed, Badly Run States." That pretty much equivalent to the same title, high taxes, Socialism, and crime seem to go hand and hand with the PC pushing diversity.
One reason to live in any of these states is you don't have to worry that you are invading someone's neighborhood. I understand that a person of color should be allowed to live anywhere they want to America, my wife is Filipino and Chinese. But if a white family moves into a African-American neighborhood they are somehow seen as destroying it. Genderfication, a very recent word created by a professor in England in the 1960's. I remember boyz in the hood and the speech about the horrors of white people wanting to live there. Why do white liberals not see the double standard in this? Rhetorical question.

@Netta A. Back in the 70's at my college I heard s man who lived in Washington D.C. He refused to pay taxes to the government on moral grounds so the I.R.S. would take %100 what ever he earned. He was a writer for a few president. Now he made his living by wielding (he would work for food ) He said his neighborhood in Washington D.C. they had taken a poor area and put in vegetable gardens, raising fish and urban homesteading. He said what he found out is the community made a mistake, they rented. He said whatever you do own vs. renting. I am a person who is rather poor. Yes I am white but no I do not have great or even modest wealth. My parents were working class. Sometimes when I read or hear posts on this subject it seems as if they think all white people are rich. I could not afford to shop at a whole foods even it was in my community. I think this is where some do not get. Many white people are poor. But if you white and poor you are what? Trash. If black then it is not your fault.

I want to move to Maine so bad! I've loved being in Maine ever since my parents and I took vacations there in the 90's nearly every summer in August for my mom's birthday. Not only is it greener and much more beautiful up there, but the cooler weather is also much more to my liking. I just prefer cold weather, in general. I can't stand the hot and humid summers where I'm at! Not to mention, people in Maine just seem much more friendly, relaxed, and laid back compared to the people where I'm stuck in.
It still gets humid here too but the nice thing you get breaks from it. It can be 88 and humid but then the next day if 75 and clear/dry

The last time we were in Maine (around the Portland area), it pretty much stayed dry and around the 60's and lower 70's the whole week we were there in September. :D Man, I miss that so much!
I'm in Ohio and I agree with you about the weather. I hate hot weather and I love Maine as I have relatives there and have vacationed there many times since childhood. I would love to live there but my aunt told me that they have the highest home prices in the nation outside of the Pacific states.

In pc-world, all other distict ethnicities are victims of the malevolent "white" people - the white racist people. Like 30 years ago, I stopped ever checking the box on a form identifying my ethnicity as "white" (= white racist) - from amidst all the many other distict ethnicities more specifically identifying a persons ancestral heritage. Ever since then, the box: "other" has gotten checked ... and if there has been facility for entering the "what" other, it's always then been "Britannic-American."

My parents are Mexican but i chose to move to Vermont for one reason and thats because i always believed that white neighborhoods are and have always been safer im white myself and so is my wife but when i lived in California( San Francisco Bay Area) I couldn't continue living in my old mostly Hispanic neighborhood because of all the violence i couldn't even walk down the street at times because of all the gangs. I made a lot of friends here in Vermont and yes all my friends are white and im just loving it here. Its so much safer so much cleaner and people here are so nice and welcoming maybe its because they dont know im of Mexican origin since im white af but you get the idea.

The northern New England states are nice, but they’re small and kind of isolated. The western states, like Colorado and Montana, just seem so much more vast and amazing. There is so much wide open space out there and so few people.

Im Canadian and never saw a black person up close until I was 9 years old. We travelled down to the States and I played with a black kid at the pool when we stayed at a motel. I thought he was going to have black foot prints. Took about 2 minutes and we were best friends.
Canada and USA are different. In Canada is the biggest etnic minorty asians, but in USA is it afro-americans and hispanics. But states in northern part of USA are more like Canada I think, and also the climate.
