4 inch bags are good for snails and shrimp
6 inch bags are common for small fish like guppies
8 inch bags are good for a few medium size fish like swordtails
10 inch bags are good for larger fish like angels
12 inch+ bags are good for jumbo fish like many larger cichlids.
