Quit music, now i feel anxious if I listen to it. Quran is peace Subhanallah.
There is no mention of music being haram in Quran. If you think there is please cite surat and ayat. What is in Quran is the warning against making what is not haram into that which is not haram. Al-Ma'idah 5:87
"O ye who believe! make not unlawful the good things which Allah hath made lawful for you, but commit no excess: for Allah loveth not those given to excess." As Muslims however we should be selective of the lyrics of the music we listen to. Also if you dont like music or don't want to listen for whatever reason at least don't attribute that restriction to the Quran.
The issue is t whether theres benefits to not listening to music. The issue is that Man cannot make Haram that which Allah did not make haram. You are not God.

I read a wise comment the other day : "Maturing is realizing all that entertainment was never really entertaining". Most music has hidden agendas and clouds our brains. Speaking from experience; WALLAH when I stopped listening to music I started to look at the world in a reality perspective instead of falling trap for all it's illusions. SubhanALLAH and ALHAMDULILLAH.
That's stupid. Is reading books Haram? ! You have a choice to read an educational book, sex trashy novel, or the Quran.
Music and books are the same text vs lyrics. It's content is what's in question. Muslims pioneered music therapy for centuries and discovered what modern-day science/research is just finding out. Body reaction to music is like medicine. Google, research it. It's this reason 19 scholars to date say it's Hala only content can be Haram.
@@Retroitalianocouldn’t agree more. Besides, if ALL music had a blanket, severely radical label of haram on it, you would think God would mention it in his perfect and complete Qur’an, where he advises repeatedly against other major sins such as adultery, shirk, cruelty, lying, backbiting, alcohol and haram foods, theft and greed etc
@Retroitaliano It's not just the content, haram instruments used can change the frequency in your body brainwashing to fall in love with dunya and it's harams creating hypocrisy in your heart. It's a well known to be a major distraction and taking away from the path path of ALLAH(GOD).There is a hadith on it and many musicians have admitted it's evil brainwashing negative effects also. Listen at your own expense, but know you've been kindly warned. Many people lose out on many blessings of GOD in this life and the next by ignoring the goodness of warnings in this life. i also was soo confused about this topic. Everyone has their own opinion about it. But i decided that its better for my akhirah to stop listening to it, even if it turns out being not haram what do i lose ? Rather than listening to it and turns out i was making sin.
After i quit that, firstly the biggest change was how i started to sink into din, like i was understanding everything with my heart n soul, not only mind. Secondly i started living reality and changing things in my life, and stop waiting for my best life to begin.
Music romanticises our lives and makes us forget who we are.
Music has many neurological benefits especially for children with developing minds
Collectively all authentic Islamic scholars stated that it's Haram
@@nuraismail1146 nope that is misleading and a false statement there is so many great scholars of islam who have permitted , now where you follow those scholars or not is irrelevant to the statement you made
@@MrFreshUploaderdont say that bro, she followed her youtube sheikhs, so she will say music is haram like what she heard from her youtube scholars, many others will say the same 😂 it depends on who you follow. But music is still ikhtilaf though so you can’t make general ruling about it as it is not mentioned in Quran ❤
Ask yourself this: when you listen to something, does it keep playing in your mind? Do you randomly sing it or the tune throughout the day? When you are praying, can you focus? Is the tune still randomly playing in your head even the next day? You will get your answer. You are continuously feeding your soul music when the soul is never at peace without Allahs zikr. For me personally, i would have the song playing in my head constantly, even during prayers, even the next day, and I'd keep wanting to listen to the song. What if im dying and on my last breath, instead of the shahada, God forbid im actually thinking of the song? I want to keep on my tongue the words i want to die with in shaa Allah. I am struggling with this a lot because i used to listen to music a lot, acapella mostly, but the acapelle was done in a way that imitated musical instruments. I had myself convinced that it was ok, and it was having no effects on me. But i would go to sleep singing that song, id wake up singing it. Id listen to and sing songs throughout the day obsessively. Even after leaving songs, music is filled everywhere, behind most videos, shorts, ads etc. Its almost impossible to escape. Believe me when i say we are better off without music in our lives, and Allah knows what is best for us. May Allah make it easy for me and for whomever is trying to quit and forgive us for our sins, and grant us the shahada on our last breath ameen.

I have tried it. I STOPPED LISTENING MUSIC for a long time (1 year), then I started listening music again.
And this time I started noting the change in my personality.
I lost interest in salah, I started having anger issues and I felt so discomfort. And as I stopped listening it again, I went back to Salah, I became peaceful while having least anger issues.
CONCLUSION:
Stop listening to music. Even your mind don't accept it, just give it a try by stop listening it. I BET YOU WILL FEEL THE DIFFERENCE.
Like it if you agree or you gonna try❤
Different people have different kind of tolerance, for some people, music is going to be a problem and for some people, music won’t be an issue at all. One thing to note is to have khusyu, you focus on the prayer, not on something else. If you have a business and you keep thinking about the business even when you are doing prayer, that does not mean your business is haram right? That means you have focus issue and not relying on Allah fully.
That's an addiction, any addiction is haram, not just music.
Meanwhile, do you label teaching toddlers the alphabet song as haram because it is music?
Remember the Prophet SAW exampt some music, meaning not all music is haram, look for the hadiths that exampt some music.
@@TheBruceleibusiness is a valid reason tho. Music causes addiction and you urself won’t want to pray salah. But does business cause addiction? No ofc. It’s your important work and you still have the intention for salah.
And the thinking about things mostly really comes from addictions

Fear Allah mr Nouman. Allah guide us all.
I can say from my personal experience. Not listening to music changes you mentally and emotionally. The music listen to whatever in this day and age bends and messes with our heads. I genuinely believe it does more harm than good. We are only victims of our thoughts what we begin to think with the music is not an actual thing its more like a delusion. Like I said since I’ve stopped listening to it I feel much much better it gave me a completely new outlook on many things and obviously the challenges are to carry forward with the eyes by controlling desires of looking at certain things and eventually becoming stronger. May Allah help us all.

I’m no scholar but as long as your selection of music is genuinely clean from both the wording, intention and feel the sounds are giving you, and you don’t avoid important things by making music your priority in life, I don’t see anything wrong with it. Now I personally generally choose to listen to the Quran playlist by Mishary in shuffle instead of playing music or also listening to its translation. If I or someone else with me want to listen to music and they’re okay with listening Mahzer Zain, Sami Yusuf I might open that. If they’re not too interested in that but you still want to be entertained I would have a playlist with general music of that type that you’ve selected by working through each song and making sure that they all don’t have anything bad in them. Like not just words, the feeling the beats give etc too, because I wouldn’t want to be responsible for effecting someone else
I found it very difficult to memorize the Quran until I quit music and movies alll together.
Music really does take our hearts away to some zone which is very dangerous
To all those muslims who think that music is allowed in islam, stop staying on the borderline.
Proohet Muhammad Saww said,
“The halaal (permissible) is clear and the haraam (forbidden) is clear, and between them are matters that are mushtabihaat [unclear or doubtful]. Whoever is wary of these doubtful matters has absolved his religion and honor. And whoever indulges in them has indulged in the haraam. It is like a shepherd who herds his sheep too close to preserved sanctuary, and they will eventually graze in it. Every king has a sanctuary, and the sanctuary of Allah is what He has made haraam. There lies within the body a piece of flesh. If it is sound, the whole body is sound; and if it is corrupted, the whole body is corrupted. Verily, it is the heart” (Bukhari and Muslim).
But doesn’t this contradict that everything is permissible until proven haram
@@ridasalim7066 the haram and halal are already mentioned in Islam. We as Muslims' are only required to have knowledge of whether a particular act falls in that category or not.
Some acts are "mutashabihaat" as mentioned in above Hadith. Crypto is an example of mutashabihaat. Scholars aren't that sure about it but still request Muslims to stay away from it as long as any clear verdict comes out.
Music doesn't fall in this category because many scholars have clearly called it haram.
Music romanticizes our lives and makes us forget who we are.
Yes romanticizing your life can make it a lot brighter and acceptable, but it also holds you from necessary changes, and from making risky decisions.

He created beautiful things we can see, calming sounds we can listen to, amazing things you can taste. But people can also use those things and be creative with it, you can cook food in many ways, you can make art pieces, so why can't we also do the same with sound. With each of these you can do bad things, like make bad statues or draw inappropriate things, deep fry chicken which takes the nutrients out of it, and I'm sure you can do the same thing with music for example by making it loud and obnoxious, or profane. Music has the ability to alter human emotion, including the emotion of sadness and pessimism. It is during low time that the devil can manipulate and enter the subconscious realm of a human. There are many other sins that are committed by Muslims, including the raqis, particularly usury in this End Time, but it is widespread that the pang of conscience when committing this sin is neglected. It is seldom heard that jinn possession is caused by usury practices and addiction because there is less emotion of guilt and restlessness, hence the jinns are less capable of manipulating the emotion. Music is also a subject. It also, has to follow the guidance, and observe the parameters and boundaries, stated by Islam. No excesses are allowed. لہو و لعب is haram. That applies to ordinary speech also. "Taking too far" is actually, digressing from the straight path. Being moderate is the key. We are not allowed to judge. May Allah Bless, Guide and Protect each Muslim and all humanity. Aameen.
He's speaking the truth. Most of the commenters here are simply parroting what they've learned from standard Indo Pak ulema. I've personally studied with a lot of well traineed Deobandi scholars and those who've studied with Shafi and Hanafi Syrian shuyukh. There is well known difference of opinion but you'll only know about this if you've exposed yourself to scholars from different countries and madhabs. African, Arab, Malaysian, Indonesian, Turkish - in fact probably over 50% of Muslim scholars know well this difference. If you only listen to scholars who are Indo Pak or who've only studied in either Saudi or an Indo Pak darul uloom then you'll only be aware of the 'music is haram' ruling. They also say it's haram to wear modern trousers below the ankles 😅. I've met serious scholars and students of knowledge who have devoted their whole life to Quran and Sunnah, and their lives are filled with dhikr. And they have pianos in their living rooms. Let the actual message of the Quran guide you. Allah has so much guidance in His book for us to get busy with that there is not a single CLEAR ayah about music. So don't waste time/life worrying about it!
Sahih bukhari 5590, do check it out
I was a great lover of music and songs.. I used learn each every song and sing with it. Specially when travelling or while driving. But since few months I stopped listening to music. And now I never feel like to play music anymore. I like silence and I like listening Quran only otherwise don't play music. Just ... SILENCE....
A lot of people here are missing his point.
I don’t think he’s trying to say music is definitively haram or not. Rather he is trying to say there is not such an universal agreement that it is haram like people try to portray and there are different views on it.
music is haram, Sahih Bukhari 5590
shut all mouth when their are saying of prophet ﷺ and he predicted someone gonna make music halal “there will be in my Ummah people who will make lawful
zina, silk, alcohol and musical” (Narrated by al-Bukhari ta’liqan, no. 5590; narrated as mawsul by al-Tabarani and al-Bayhaqi. See al-Silsilah al-Sahihah by al-Albani, 91)
@jj-yi1neThese "muslims" choose to follow hadiths written by men, over the Quran sent by God. God created music, the "new song" is in the Bible. It's sad to see how far extremists will go to forbid everything in life.
@@kevinp1464god also created pigs and alcohol and silk..so are those not haram for you..?
@@kevinp1464and so you’re not okay with following hadith..but you are literally using the “Bible” that the Christians use to support your argument..so do you also believe that Jesus(pbuh) was the son of God or just god..?!!
@@azizi6713 Jesus was metaphorically the "son of God" in title in the same way King David was the "son of God" in the same way all righteous people are the "children of God". Jesus was not the son of God in a literal sense. Anyway, the Quran clearly states that the Torah, Psalms, and Gospel were sent by God so continue living in ignorance of God's entire word while I accept the full truth.
@@azizi6713 I never said all hadith are false, but most of them are. There are some true hadiths, mostly the ones that don't contradict the Quran and the Bible.
Nowhere Quran says music is haram, nor Prophet pbuh ever said it clearly it’s haram. He may not like it, he may have no time for such things. But prophet pbuh allowed hits to play it. So how come people decide it’s haram ?
Bukhari 5590
there is a tafsir in Surah Luqman that is talking about music
I'll learn arabic from NAK but i'll get the rulings of Islam from islamic scholars
This is the best approach. NAK is horrible off point on many issues.
No doubt the music has attraction but its haram.
Sheikh Uthman is a great scholar he cleared all the doubts made by Brother Noumaan. ❤
I don’t understand why we Muslims ignore the fact that it’s recommended to stay away from any worldly grey matters, such as music. When a matter isn’t clearly spelled out white or black in the Quran or authentic Hadiths, then it’s best to refrain from it. There’s nothing more calming and peaceful than the words of Allah anyways.. Ibn al-Qayyim may Allah have mercy on him said: “Music is the Qur'ān of Shaytān and dancing, clapping & the like is his Salah”
Don't give Fatwa about grey matters too. Satan dancing lol
Those who are saying nasty things about Noumen Ali , what did Gazzali say . He said if music was harram , then birds would not have been allowed to sing
ghazali is not a proof in islam
Birds dont play instruments.
@@trickystuff5972his name is literally proof of Islam why would any one listen to a person from YT the proof of Islam ghazali
@sabrinashahab795 Yeah, I think you should look up nasheeds
I can't understand what you are saying but Singing is not haram but musical instruments are haram
