Correct. Islam is a religion of Fitra (nature) and music always was part of Fitra of humankind since beginning of history. There must be wisdom behind every dictum but there is no wisdom behind banning music. Arabic of "music" is "musuki" which is not in the Quran at all. The Quranic words "sound" and "futile conversation" in chapters Luqman verse 6 & Bani Israel verse 64 were mistranslated as "music" to support music-ban.

I suggest in this kind of discussion to define first what is "music". What is the difference between hearing a natural sound such as: tree leaves in a windy day make a sound, waves in the sea make a special sound. Or, if I take two chestnuts and bound them in each other an they make a rithme , in a way that it makes a pleasant sound.. in this case I can say that two chestnuts are an instrumental instrument. And it seriously can become an instrument by the way. So, how can someone define this? Thank you
When I was a child, I use to love drawing. I was no.1 at drawing in my school. But everybody told me “Portraiture is Haram". So, I left drawing. When I was 12 years old, I joined a theatre to learn to Dance. I learned it very quickly. I was the main attraction of the theatre show. Then everybody told me "Dance is Haram", I left dance. I started leaning music in 15. I can sing. I can play Piano, Guitar, Electric Guitar, Saxophone and even Violin. Now, everybody is telling me music is also haram. What should I do now? Left Islam? Suicide? I don't think there are any point of life anymore😢
If you really have a dream to be an artist, you don't need to care about what your religion says. Just focus on your art. Don't suicide. We need you. I've visited your channel. You're great. You're talented. We need your talent, bro. Dont leave us😢
Of course you do not have to leave Islam or consider suicide. Let me tell you something that has happened to me recently. Because of this Coronavirus lockdown I have been left alone a lot. My thoughts have gone everywhere. I had begun feeling guilty about everything I had done in the past and- astagfirullah I had even had begun having doubts on my deen. I finally had enough and made a dua, crying for Allah to please guide me and for me to please stop having such thoughts. Just twenty minutes later I was watching youtube videos and I came across this video. The title was " This Ayat made the Sabaha Kneel". I had no idea what it was about but I watched it. I can't exactly remember the ayat but it was something about how we would be judged and held accountable for our thoughts. This made me so scared cause the thoughts I had could definitely take me straight to Jahanam. The Sabaha begged them that they could not follow this because their thoughts are really bad and couldn't do anything about them. Maybe you should watch that video because I realise I am not explaining this very well, sorry. So what did he say when the Sabaha begged to him this? He told them that you will not be held accountable for your thoughts unless you act on them or verbalise them because we have no control over our thoughts. I immediately began crying then because you have no idea how much I needed to hear those words... watch the channel IloveUAllah, I found a lot of great advice like that there. Another amazing thing is that I used to have a huge obsession with the anime boy in my profile pic. I would get angry if anyone told me that he wasn't real and I even had a pillow of him that I treated if it were a real person. After I watched that video though, everynight before I went to sleep I would give the pillow a kiss goodnight. That night however I didn't see any point of doing it. I no longer held any importance for that mere character. I suddenly held a strong love for Allah and my religion and that was it. I cannot tell you how amazing that love for Allah feels. After that I have had more thoughts come to me some of which were even suicidal. I now knew that I wouldn't be held accountable for these thoughts but I still so hated having them and I wanted them to get out of my mind. I practiced meditation and talked to my loved ones but still not much help. And what's worse is that I realise now that even though I was a born muslim my relationlship with Allah was very weak. So I tried to do many things to fix that but then I learnt about Muhammad SAW marriage to Aisha RA at 9 years old. I couldn't sleep the whole night and had doubts again. I eventually did a lot of research and came to the conclusion that Aisha RA was 19 and not 9 at the time of marriage. Even though having figured this out I still had doubts and have suicidal thoughts. But let me tell you something. Everytime I am at loss and ask for guidance I always get it. Not always the way I want it to be but I always get it. Do not leave Islam for it will be a great loss. Ask Allah for guidance sincerely and he won't fail to guide you. There is no one that loves you like Allah. He loves you more than anyone in the world. After I watched that video about the Sabaha the thoughts came to me more than ever but I didn't let any penetrate my actions. I am also reading the translations of quran and watching several videos like this to boost my iman. As for those things being haram: true muslims live on this dunya like it's a prison. Disbelievers treat this dunya like it's Jannah. Everything that is forbidden for us is for our own good. It is all a test. And you are doing so well. Everytime you try and become closer to Allah the Shaytaan will whisper more things in your ear and you will face even more tests. It is to see if you can leave them for the love of Allah. Keep your faith strong. And ask Allah to guide you the right path. Because you have all those beautiful things waiting for you in Jannah. Dedicate this dhunya to love Allah and Islam deen. I have also recently realised just last night how I can dissipate those suicidal thoughts. It's amazing that i came across your comment just after this realisation. Well I first searched up if there is any dua for suicidal thoughts. There isn't really. But I found this piece of information. If yiu for say stab yourself then in Jahanam you will be stabbing yourself over and over again. If you drink poison then you will be consuming that poison over and over again in Jahanam. This helped me little. What I realised last night was this: you know the phrase deen over dunya? I have always tried to stand by this. If I commit suicide then that means I have chosen dunya over deen. Because I have considered the problems in this dunya to be greater than Allah's love and mercy. There is no pain that we are not built to take. We will be tested in the harshest ways. But remember this: Allah love is greater than the love of 70 mothers. The true happiness is granted in Jannah. All the happiness in this dunya is like air. You breathe it in, it stays there for a bit, and then you breathe it out. Allah will always guide those who ask sincerely. Especially the young cause if they ask for guidance Allah will even guide them while they are sleeping. Allah will guide them which way they turn in their sleep. I realise this comment is very long and all over the place but I wrote it in the hopes that you will keep your faith in Allah strong. And that you won't have to consider suicide again. Take it from someone who has been there. May Allah bless you and guide you. Ameen

For every saying of the beloved Holy Prophet (PBUH), there has to be some reason. For example, in the case of prohibiting the music in haram, one reason can be that the lyrics which are being used in the songs may include shirkia words. These ahadees by the prophet (PBUH) against the music, need to have more interpertation by our respected Ulamaas. P.S: I am referring to listening to the music only and not watching the videos. stop depending on the words of humans. Listen to the word of Allah. Allah's words are revealed in the Quran. Scholars and sheikhs or your family and friends may tell you different things but non of them can compare to the word of Allah. In the Quran, there is not a single verse that prohibits music. Allah does not make mistake and he makes clear what is true. If Allah himself did not forbid music then which human being that eats and breathes like you has any authority over Allah to forbid it. When people try to become God, then we see a lot of confusion and problems just as is happening now. In the Quran Allah says the people that forbids the good things he has made lawful are transgressors. See quran 5:87 Allah alone guides to the right path. He who has faith in Allah and puts their trust in Allah will never be led astray. So please do not let what is created lead you away from the creator. Music is beautiful when used in a good way. It has been proved to heal people from depression and even lead people to Allah. Music can also be used negatively when the words are negative and dirty. Although the Deen never changes we are all in a new age & I believe as long as you do not act on the things explicit music may say or act in a disrespectful manor there is no problems with music & music is everywhere! What are us Muslim brothers & sisters to do? Run in the house or cover our ears whenever music is played? Let's be realistic. It's the same analogy of guns don't kill people, people kill people. May peace be upon us all inshallah
This is what I was wondering. If certain music does not carry an unpleasant message, are those certain kinds permitted then? If one doesn't allow music to mislead them or distract them from anything related to Islam, is it okay? Also, learning to play music has proven in many ways that it does not only stimulate the brain but it also improves mood, etc. If one learns a musical instrument (for example, piano, guitar, violin, etc.) and only uses it for their enjoyment/benefit (again, without allowing it to be a distraction), is it fine to learn it then? May Allah always guide us on the right and faithful path insha'Allah.
I disagree. Although running away and covering you ears every time you listen or hear some music is quite the headache, it is necessary to stay away from it even in the best way you can even if it is hard to do so. By the way, just because you do not follow something bad that was said and yet you still heard it does not make it halal to listen to it. If you heard someone cursing and cussing, but you do not curse or cuss the same way, does listening to the haram speech become halal? In the same way, music whether with foul speech or not should be avoided in the best way possible since it is a big problem. This is my opinion and I am open to others. However, I am under the impression that this is the best thing to do anyway.
@@naimy4511 Thank you for your honest reply. You've made a really convincing point, however, why would it not be okay to listen to something if it doesn't have a bad influence? Mr Zakir Naik, I am a religious Muslim and I remember Allah Often, and music helps me work out and do other activities I don’t like that much, music does not drive me away from Allah, is that a problem?
Most religions practice music as part of worship. In the old Bible time of King David, people used music and dancing to praise Yahweh. It is said that singing and dancing to the musical instruments for the praise of God is the highest form of prayer. We have organ music with the singing of hymns, in praise of God. Very good feeling.

Music in itself is not evil. Music can be a tool for good or evil. it's how we use music that counts - your intentions.
Similarly like technology in itself is not evil. Eg.social media can lead to mental health issues. On the other hand the power of social media can also be used to quickly raise funds for an urgent cause compared to the olden days when people had to go door-to-door fundraising.

And
Bad music with bad sayings is not permitted because it promotes non sense and wasting time ( i think)

Thank you

Beatsby Art is not haram drawing human beings is
@@mishyy713 why? Give me reason.
Ameen
@@sakhaabdulsattar8617 I will never commit suicide, nor i will left Islam. But my goal is to be a musical artist. My parents are very religious. But they never told me that thats are haram. Cuz they aren’t orthodox. They dont belive in dogma. They had always encouraged me. Wish me luck, brother.

For every saying of the beloved Holy Prophet (PBUH), there has to be some reason. For example, in the case of prohibiting the music in haram, one reason can be that the lyrics which are being used in the songs may include shirkia words. But what if there are no such words in the song then what is the justification for not listening to the music. These ahadees by the prophet (PBUH) against the music, need to have more interpertation by our respected Ulamaas.
P.S: I am referring to listening to the music only and not watching the videos. I know in most cases, these videos contain explicit scenes and vulgarity.

stop depending on the words of humans.
See quran 5:87
Allah alone guides to the right path.
Allah does not forbid music but forbids vain speech so now it is left for you to choose and filter the kind of music you listen to. Is it one filled with positive and productive messages or one filled with vain speech?

Although the Deen never changes we are all in a new age & I believe as long as you do not act on the things explicit music may say or act in a disrespectful manor there is no problems with music & music is everywhere! What are us Muslim brothers & sisters to do? Run in the house or cover our ears whenever music is played? Let's be realistic. It's the same analogy of guns don't kill people, people kill people. May peace be upon us all inshallah
agreed brother 👌🏼
Obviously, we should all do our part to refrain as much as we can from harmful content (that goes against the words of Allah and his prophet P.B.U.H), but if other types of music hold a good message and are inspiring, that's what I believe to be okay. I shall do more research and expand my knowledge further on this topic as I'm a big music lover but I don't want to keep it up if it's unadvisable. In your opinion, do you think it's okay to learn an instrument though? Or does that also follow the same reasoning?
