Actually I have one question in relation to the documents I need to send to the property register as a non-Swede (Irish). As the property I am buying is small, I am not going through a broker. I have the bill of sale signed (as does the owner) and the final step is to pay the remaining balance and send the details to the government. Do they need my passport/tax details? I hope you don't mind me asking, many thanks.
I wish you had told us what you were eating. I live in the U.S. and like knowing about other countries' foods & drinks & customs. Thank you for sharing your life.😊
Hi Jennifer just discovered you. Sorry for the loss of your grand daughter, I lost my first born beautiful daughter so know your pain. How adventurous are you..well done. Bit easier to trott across the channel than go half way around the world like I would have to do. I hope you are spending quality time in your new cottage while the covid scare is happening, what better place to sit it out. How can you possibly go back to the UK after living in Sweden? Cheers from Western Australia 🌷btw love those daisies and peonies..
At 00:36 , I read the passages you revealed in your bible; "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble; Therefore we will not fear , though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea; though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging....Sing praises to God, sing praises". I needed to read those encouraging verses as I am on the brink of homelessness after horrific losses.
Honey this is normal in KENTUCKY,, JUST A FEW YEARS AGO MOST EVERY HOUSE HAD NO INSIDE WATER OR HEAT ,NO PLUMBING AT ALL, IT WAS THE HAPPIEST TIME OF MY LIFE, ID DRAW WATER FROM THE WELL HEAT IT ON THE WOOD STOVE WASH DISHES WASH MY HAIR WASH OFF IN SUDSY WATER IN A LARGE WASH PAN IN THE KITCHEN FLOOR,,,,PURE HEAVEN❤️🇺🇸
I have lived in Kentucky all my life - I’m 63. Also have had all the modern conveniences all my life even though I grew up on a farm. I think it’s incorrect to say that it was a normal way of life here not to have running water or electricity only a few years ago. Maybe in some parts of eastern Kentucky but not for the vast majority of the state’s population as a whole.
I think I would be planning the indoor plumbing right away or I would have a bucket next to the bed as a port a potty and live with dirty hair! That could be quite cold!!! The fire looked warm and inviting. Hope it heats up the house above the 50s!
How are you finding Sweden now when you've lived there for a while? :) And how was the winter? It doesn't look like your house is a "vinterbonat" (winterized house/cottage, pretty much means it can be lived in all year round). Such a cute house it makes me miss Sweden (moved to UK last year), my parents have this lovely old summer house in Grisslehamn, it was originally built around 1900s and growing up I always felt it was too outdated, not enough entertainment etc and it's such a shame because all I wish for now is peaceful living. Funny how priorities change :D
At present, I have only used the cottage as a summer cottage as I am still based in the UK. We visited in February 2020 and it was very cosy, once we got the fire 🔥 going. It is the oldest house in the village. We are hoping to insulate the roof and use the loft for sleeping. Yes, I know what you mean, I miss the peaceful living too 🇸🇪❤️☀️
I couldn’t cope with the toilet outside. I have to go in the middle of the night and no way would I venture out. I love my bathroom too much. 🤣🤣🤣🤣The views are amazing though.
I've lived in a cottage like this för 12 years... And one of the good things was the toilet outside. It forced me to come in close contact with nature every day (and night). And I loved it. You just need to get used to it.
I love the connection with nature when you go outside, day and night - but some people think that’s rather primitive. The connection with the world around you is one of the things I love most about Sweden, I think
I hear that Sweden has a big "summer cottage" lifestyle, much like Canada. In fact, your videos remind me quite a bit of Canada (only you have less snow)! You might want to look at a cottage on Prince Edward Island or Nova Scotia next! The pound goes very far (and we speak English)!!!
It is true that our needs change when getting older. Moving to another country is a big step as I think it is important to speak the language of the country you are going to live in if one wants to be part of the community and really understand the people.
Congratulations! I soooo would have loved having a cottage like that! Maybe one day, if my health gets better, so I could handle it. Would have been sooo fantastic. Everything is so much more expensive here in Norway... I could handle even a bit less square footage, as long as I could have a tent garage by the wall for my power wheelchair to live in while charging. And the outhouse and water pump/well pretty close. I too would have to have electricity, that is just a must. 😊 Some places should be given away instead of just standing there until they fall apart. So much better that they are used and maintained to some degree. More families should realize and see that they would have made their ancestors happy over the place being treasured and they should feel glad over being able to make someone else very happy over getting a place they can use, restore and love to spend their time at. Most people today want high standard places, but not all of us care that much and are willing to be creative and make do with things we can make and restore. 😊 So happy to see old, shaggy places that are being painted and looks used! Happy Walls are nice to pass, that’s for sure! 👏👏👏😊
There are so many cute places that just need a bit of love and attention. Planning some painting inside, but nothing much to change the character of the cottage
Hi. I'm really interested in the shower head contraption thingy you put in the bucket as you were washing your hair. What is it called and where can I get it. And thank you for showing us that we can live the life we wish for here and now. "Be still and know that I am God" Ps 46:10. Perfect verse for a quiet cool morning out in the country side.

So happy for you !!!You just set a goal for me as well.Your cottage is so cozy!!I've lived in Sweden back in the 1990 -92.So calm so green ,so peaceful.-where is your lovely home?
How lovely that you lived in Sweden! My cottage is about a two hour drive from Landvetter airport
We just met ❤🌹😉 Keep fighting the good fight 💪God bless
Amazing 😍
Thank you for your witness of Jesus!!!
Yes! 🙌🏽 A believer 🤗
Your life has a purpose now. You have so many chores, probably time flies. I did not know you have electricity but I noticed a lamp and TV. A Beautiful life. Nothing would scare me, even chopping the wood. I can start the fire in wood burning stove, I can cook and bake on it. I can also cook on a fire. I spent a lot of vacations in the wild.
Lovely! xoxo
Lovely! What was the dollop of stuff put on top of the butter? Beautiful home & environment. Ty 💕
Pretty sure it was inlagd sill (that’s raw herring!) - the senapsill (mustard) is my favourite

I don’t remember sending that. Sounds like you’re almost there though!
I wish you had told us what you were eating. I live in the U.S. and like knowing about other countries' foods & drinks & customs. Thank you for sharing your life.😊
Thank you for the information.😊
From the jar that's pickled herring. Frukost of champions.
She did..look below the video 🙂
Beautiful
Vicki Loyall I WAS SPEAKING OF THE AREA I KNOW ABOUT THATS ALL
I think I would be planning the indoor plumbing right away or I would have a bucket next to the bed as a port a potty and live with dirty hair! That could be quite cold!!! The fire looked warm and inviting. Hope it heats up the house above the 50s!
As you have electricity the outside pump could be an easy fix for running water indoors, but would that spoil the experience?
That definitely would not spoil the experience Andrew!
Inventive for washing your hair. *Makes me very grateful for indoor plumbing. :)
Yes, I know what you mean, I miss the peaceful living too 🇸🇪❤️☀️
The inside windows were in so the cottage was ready for winter all right. It just takes more firewood to not let the fire in the kitchen go out. 😄
@@martinnyberg9295 Yes, it has probably been someones home a long time ago. It's not just a summer house.
You were LUCKY - to buy the oldest house ! With AGE COMES - The Young " stuff " much easier !
I couldn’t cope with the toilet outside. I have to go in the middle of the night and no way would I venture out. I love my bathroom too much. 🤣🤣🤣🤣The views are amazing though.
Well, you could use a chamber pot. dump it in the morning.
Good music
Good video 👍👍👍
Greetings from Indonesia 🇮🇩
Best regards,,,
I hear that Sweden has a big "summer cottage" lifestyle, much like Canada. In fact, your videos remind me quite a bit of Canada (only you have less snow)! You might want to look at a cottage on Prince Edward Island or Nova Scotia next! The pound goes very far (and we speak English)!!!
I’ve been following Eamon and Bec here on RUclips - they’ve just bought a lakeside cabin in Canada and it looks amazing!
It is true that our needs change when getting older. Moving to another country is a big step as I think it is important to speak the language of the country you are going to live in if one wants to be part of the community and really understand the people.
The lord said rise and behold ,and you did 🥰👍
Congratulations!
Lovely
Thanks Wangari! The shower is a camping shower and it’s charged up by a USB port, I bought it on Amazon.
Good morning Jennifer I’m from Florida the sunshine state
@@pollackhurst754 I’m doing ok it’s just the other day I suffered a blackout as lacking oxygen but ended up finding out why it was my heart that have some kind of blockage on my arteries. Wish me luck
