  • If you had to list the risk factors of breast cancer, could you do it? How many would you put on your list? And how sure would you be of their accuracy as a known risk factor for breast cancer? With all the hype and scare tactics of our time, most women would exclude some of the known risk factors and include some that are not known risk factors. In this video, I’ll present the whole list … and the whole truth.

    I had no risk factors, was healthy, took excellent care of myself and still got it when I was young! Thanks for the great information!

      Risk factors are precisely that: Risk factors. Nobody can predict their future. And I am very sorry you had to deal with Breast Cancer.

    Low iodine is a risk factor for breast cancer. If you have thyroid cancer, your risk of breast cancer is significantly higher, and vice versa. I am a thyroid cancer survivor so this topic is very important to me. I am supplementing with iodine and the stabbing breast pain i would get intermittently is now gone. I have dense breasts. I suspect low iodine also caused my follicular thyroid cancer.

    Many thanks Dr Taylor. I've always been a bit worried about taking HRT and the risk of developing breast cancer. This has been helpful. 🌸

    I got a new phone & just saw how much the arthritis in your hands looks like the arthritis in my hands. Mine is osteoarthritis & I have found that OTC estrogen creams provide the most relief. I went to doctors & doctors over my hands & they all just wanted to tell me how dangerous the estrogen was & give me long term steroid shots & I refused that over & over. My thumbs were pulling in by the nodules onto & causing carpal tunnel pain & I finally found a doctor who gave me carpal tunnel surgery & I am back to ignoring medical advice about my OTC estrogen creams & I put estrogen cream on my hands & face (as moisturizer) twice a day, my feet once a day, & my knees 3 times a day. This regimen has my osteoarthritis in remission. I was well past my window of opportunity when I found you but I have learned "thou shalt not be afraid of estrogen" by heart thanks to you. And my Osteoarthritis is in remission thanks to you.

      What is the name of the otc estrogen cream you use? Thought it was by prescription only.

    Hi doctor. It's so good to have you in this world where nobody but you understands menopause so well. I am 52 with no signs of menopause. But a month ago I suddenly had stiff joints and fever. Doctors got all tests done and everything came normal. Fever is gone but joints are still stiff. Could it be a sign of late permenopause? Please guide.

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  10 месяцев назад

      Joint stiffness and joint pain are direct symptoms of estrogen deficiency! (But most doctors don't know that.)
      This is precisely the kind of thing for which I do one-on-one consultations. You definitely need one. I cannot tailor things specifically to you in a comment box. It requires much more information than you can give me here, and you deserve much more information than I can give you here. No two women are alike, and addressing your situation requires tailoring all the facts specifically to YOU. I do them all via online video conferencing. You can schedule at MenopauseTaylor.ME. I look forward to meeting you and helping you.

    So I am taking progestin in pill form. The pills that look like pearls. I'm wondering if these pills are supposed to be hard or jelly like more like a jelly bean. I was on Teva progestin and they seemed hard but by the time I was on my 10th day they seem to be like a jelly bean. Just wondering if, in general, are they supposed to be a hard pill. Maybe they were always like a jelly bean(?)...Just wondering if I got a bad batch or something. I live in Canada.

    You know, it's funny to hear you day HRT is not a risk factor for breast cancer when I have been told and dr. Google says there is a slight increase but the risk gets bigger the longer you are on it.
    Another misconception. Interesting....
    Thank you for this education.

      If HRT (which consists of the very same hormones your body produced in buckets for about 35 to 40 years) causes breast cancer, why don't we all get breast cancer in those 35 to 40 years?
      Pregnancy causes the highest levels of estrogen and progesterone. But the women who have had the MOST pregnancies have the lowest risk of breast cancer.
      I'm just giving you the logic and common sense that has been buried by fear-mongering.

      I am retired from the clinical practice of medicine, and teach full time now. As such I do not prescribe or accept any kind of insurance.
      I will make sure you know HOW to go about getting what you want. And I will make sure you know HOW to find a practitioner for your menopause. But I will not be prescribing anything.

    My boss' cancer doctors told her that her breast cancer was caused by her birth control pills. They had her stop them immediately. She went through treatment, and removal of her breasts and is in remission now.

      Birth control pills decrease risk of breast cancer. They do not increase it. You boss was the victim of terrorism by the medical community.

    Drinking alcohol in moderation?

      Very well known, one glass of wine a night for example.

      Yep! I wonder why no frightening headlines when it comes to this risk factor, or obesity, or sedentary lifestyle … 🧐 Would women stop or significantly reduce their alcohol consumption, for example, if there’d be a campaign with scary headlines as was done with HRT in 2002? Interesting food for thought, I think!

      It’s especially interesting or concerning really that women of this age constantly talking about drinking and how much fun they are having while doing it, etc. they must not know about the cancer risk it causes.

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  10 месяцев назад +5

      What's the definition of "moderation"?
      You see, this is the problem. Every sip of alcohol you ever have contributes to your risk of Breast Cancer. Nobody can tell you how much is "safe" for you.
