- Since we’ve established that neither estrogen alone nor progestogen alone causes breast cancer, what about estrogen + progestogen together? Might that be the culprit? After all, your body produces both of them. So in this video, we will address the possibility that these two sex hormones together cause breast cancer, along with all the caveats that come with them.

Omg, I wish medical schools made their students take your course!
I do, too!
Right?!!
Imagine if they took the time to explain ????
Thank you for this topic because I take both estrogen + progestogen daily. When my gyne started this with me I was just trusting her I really did not even what was it until I found your videos and started reading my medication and find what exactly am I taking. She is always shocked when I tell her what I know.

As I was listening to you, I formed a question about a cyclic and continuous regime…and then, wham! you answered my question. Love it.
If I had known about this in my 20’s, I would have asked for the continuous birth control regime.
Thank you for clearing up the chaos and fear mongering cause of breast cancer!
Love and hugs and see you in class, next week!!!
Well, I wish I were a mind-reader. But I am not!
Love your education videos on these topics. Can you speak on cortisol levels up and down during perimenopause?
This is something that warrants a consultation. The reason is that we need to focus specifically on YOUR cortisol and YOUR peri-menopause. You may be mistaking the symptoms of one for the symptoms of the other.
So tailoring is key. And you can schedule a consultation at MenopauseTaylor.ME. I do them all online. I hope to meet you and help you.
Another great video. Hi ladies. I have my uterus, 53, menopause at 51. Breast fed two babies in my 30s. I’m on HRT Estadiol .05 patch for estrogen, pills for progesten- but the progesten is the same amount as I used for birth control Norethindrone .35 mg pill daily. I’ll have to ask my doctor about the norethindrone level.
Thank you! ❤
It's my pleasure!
Great video. So if you were on non cyclical BCPs for 20 years is this possibility helpful later in life for decreasing your breast cancer risk?
Yes. As long as you don't have cycles at all, it decreases your risk. The longer you were on continuous birth control with no cycles, the lower your risk.
Thank you 😊😊😊
You're so welcome.

So confused because systemic Estradiol topical sachet from a standard pharmacy is 1mg q day. Also should daily Prometrium progesterone pill of 100mg continuous be prescribed regardless of high of the dose of continuous system estradiol needed to manage systems? In prior lessons and charts, it appears that is typically adequate.
There is nothing "typical" about YOU, personally. Everything has to be tailored specifically to YOU if you want to succeed in meeting your goals.
Please consider scheduling a consultation with me at MenopauseTaylor.ME so that you don't fall short of your goals.

Thank you for this great video but what about IUD? I am on estrogen patches and have IUD as my Progestogen, does this mean that I am on a continuous regimen? ❤
Your progestin IUD delivers progestin only locally to your uterus. It does not enter your bloodstream. So you are on a continuous regimen.
But if it is localized to the uterus only then it would not be beneficial to breast tissue?
Correct There is no benefit whatsoever for your breasts. The only benefit is in preventing UTERINE cancer.@@bethanyrenaud7127

I am 52 years old mother with 20 months old boy. I have tried to have a baby over 10 years through 5 IVF treatments and 2 miscarriages. Not long after giving a birth, menopause hit me really hard and it didn’t help me at all to raise active and demanding child. I was so devastated.
After watching you several videos, I talked my OBGYN and I am on 0.05 mg transdermal estradiol and 200mg capsules progesterone every night. However, I developed preclampsia when I was pregnant had a emergency c-section on 37 weeks (I never had hypertension history in my life until the pregnancy). Also I developed high cholesterol with high ApoB level. Should I raise the dosage of estrogen to prevent the 2nd benefit not only treating the symptoms of the menopause??

When did progesterone suddenly turn into "progestogen?" Hadn't heard this term before some of the more recent videos. I thought you were referring to something different from progesterone.
“Progesterone” is the term for:
• The progesterone your own body produced
• “Bioidentical” progesterone that consists of the same molecular structure of the progesterone your own body produced
“Progestin” is the term for:
• Synthetic forms of progesterone that consist of a different molecular structure than the progesterone your own body produced. (And there are many different progestins.)
“Progestogen” is the term that includes all forms of progesterone:
• The progesterone your own body produced
• “Bioidentical” progesterone that consists of the same molecular structure of the progesterone your own body produced
• Synthetic forms of progesterone that consist of a different molecular structure than the progesterone your own body produced. (And there are many different progestins.)

What is the answer? What do we do? Can u give us an example? What is diff between cyclic and other one? Can u sum it up ? This is drawn out so much that I can’t pull it together so that I can tell if I’m on the right or wrong plan.
So what happens when you take estrogen and get your progestin from an IUD placed in your uterus to protect your uterus from cancer? The progestin doesn't go thru your system. So your only getting estrogen ? I'm so confused.
Estrogen only does not increase your risk of breast cancer.
Dr. Barbie, I’m 46, menopausal. Last cycle was November 2022. Currently on HRT. Estradiol patch 0.025 and progesterone 300mg. When I increase my Estrogen, I start bleeding unless my progesterone is increased as well. From watching your teachings, I’m not getting the proper amount of Estradiol to prevent the big 3. I started out on 0.05 and it made my breasts terribly tender. Shortly, bleeding started. Any advice?

My estradiol patch is 0.1 mg/day. The online mg to mcg converter “says” 0.1 mg = 100 mcg. Is there something I’m not understanding? I’d love for it to be 100 mcg instead of 10! 😃🙃
It's a mater of the pharmacology and therapeutics to go into the conversion, along with molecular structure and biochemistry.
@@MenopauseTaylor Are you saying a 100 mcg patch translates to 10 mcg in the body - as per your chart in this video?
Your online converter is correct: 0.1mg = 100 mcg. A standard dose of estradiol in HRT or ERT is 1 mg of oral estradiol or 50 mcg estradiol patch.
Love your videos & I’ve turned to you for HRT guidance. I have a question though regarding this video. Just to clarify are you referring to the birth control pill as cyclic & is the BHRT gel & progesterone pill as continues? I am from Australia so it is a bit different here.
You mentioned the more pregnancies a woman has had & the longer she breastfeeds, the lower her chance of breast cancer is..well I fit that category, breastfeed for total 10 years with 4 kids. I am now 43, 5 weeks into HRT, estrogen gel & progesterone tablets on 12th day of cycle. So i am a bit confused about your end summary..are you more likely to get breast cancer if you are on the birth control pill or the BHRT gel? Thank you x
No, you are mistaken. You can apply either a cyclic regimen or a continuous regime to EITHER birth control or HRT.
If you want me to tailor everything specifically to YOU, I can do so in a consultation, which you can schedule at MenopauseTaylor.ME. I do them all online.

I wish I had known the higher risk of using a cyclical HRT regime (for 5 years) before I changed to a contious regimen for a further 3 years. I chose not to have children, so those extra 5 years increased the number of 'periods' in my lifetime, putting me in the higher risk category. Unfortunately, last year I was diagnosed with a stage 2 invasive ductal carcinoma and told that, I can no longer take HRT because my cancer was ER+. However, since stopping a 1mg/0.5mg combination dose, the joints in my limbs have suffered greatly. Also, having penetrative sex has become painful instead of pleasurable. I'm tempted to return to the gynecologist and take HRT again, but don't know what to do for the best.
Praying for you.
This is why I wish women got this eduction instead of listening to fear-mongerers who know nothing about hormones or birth control, but tell women that birth control is dangerous.

Does calcium d glucarate effect absorption of estradiol patches? Is it good to be used as a preventive?
Calcium has nothing whatsoever to do with estrogen absorption. I don't understand what you mean by asking about "prevention." Prevention of what?
@MenopauseTaylor its used to detox "dirty estrogens" I use the patches but would also like protection if zenoestrogens go down wrong pathway. Even though the estrogen/progesterone during pregnancy is 10 times higher, the synthetic HRT given is not EXACTLY the same… except for the Bio-Identical versions? Am I correct?

What if you insert progesterone every Monday, Wednesda,y and Friday? That isn't exactly continuos nor cyclic.
Nope. It's just inconsistent. And it definitely is NOT continuous.
@@MenopauseTaylor So does that mean it also raises your risk?
Any use of progesterone that is not continuous raises your risk significantly.
Even continuous HRT with progesterone raises your risk slightly.

“Best for women who still have the uterus is to cycle the hormone with 5-6 days pause of hormone usage a month because, we are not only concern with the uterus, there are breasts tissue as a hormone related organ, to pause hormone usage 5-6 days a month is critical to prevent cells growth and induce cellular apoptosis”

There’s a bit of a hole in this cyclic theory for me. If post menopausal women are still at an increased risk of breast cancer until age 75, how can increased risk be due to cycles? These women, whether on continuous HRT or no HRT, are no longer cycling. The graphed risk should indeed drop at menopause and not at age 75 if it’s due to cycling. Does it take an additional 25 years of not cycling to decrease risk? Since we know pregnancy and breast feeding women are at lowest risk, maybe there’s some lasting protection the other two hormones prolactin and oxytocin have on the breasts? Maybe it’s about what’s happening to the body’s immune system during pregnancy? I’m not saying increased risk is due to hormones, but It can’t simply be about cycling either, otherwise post menopausal women should definitely see a decrease risk at menopause and they don’t. We’re still missing something here.
If you keep watching these videos in order, you will discover that I'll cover all of this. This breast cancer unit consists of 55 videos.
If you want everything tailored specifically to YOU, schedule a consultation with me at MenopauseTaylor.ME. I so them all online.
I’m really enjoying your tutorials and have learned a tremendous amount thus far. I will absolutely continue to watch. Thank you! ❤️
You are so very welcome, my dear. If you watch them all in order, there's no way you won't understand everything. Welcome to "Menopause Taylor University!"@@deannasnow5191
When you say progestrogen is that the same as progesterone?
I have the same question …
She covers this in the previous video
Thanks. I’m new to her videos so I have no idea where to even find that info and she has so many videos to look through
@@dinatwin1 totally understand. But it is truly worth every women’s time to listen to them in order. There are nuggets of valuable info in each video. @menopausetaylor is truly a gem to all women. Good luck on your journey!
If hormonal fluctuation (of estradiol and progesterone) is the culprit of increased risk of breast cancer, then starting HRT qualifies as risk depending on the delivery system: I don’t believe my transdermal estrogen delivery system provides steady flow of estrogen. Even with the low dose I am currently on, I feel the fluctuations every time I apply new estradiol patch (twice a week). My breasts increase in size and become tender soon after the new patch is applied and back to normal size by the time a new patch is due. I take the progesterone as pill every night, so that level should be fairly steady.
Watch Dr Susan Haivers video on why she chose pellets.I’m not saying this is a good thing that’s a personal choice, but she explains about the patch and this issue .She also used the patch for years but discussed this eb and flow. From what I understand it’s still a good method of treatment.
I mean Dr Susan Hardwick 😊
That's an interesting point that I never considered...but surely, even with pills or pellets, the amount of estrogen released doesn't remain exactly the same over time?
@@suzy1750 yes in that video she posted she also mentioned this too😊
I wish our gyns were more trained in this information. especially the information that being on the pill without taking a break is better for your breast health no one ever discussed this with me or suggested it. It makes me so angry I feel like we’re a whole generation that has been overlooked and it’s too late now because that time has passed so you just have to move forward and do the best you can and I feel like we still don’t have as finite of choices as what men do for their health and they don’t lose their all of their testosterone.
Why does everything I read say to not use birth control pills because they are toxic?
Because you are reading propaganda promoted by terrorists.

Not related to this particular video, I wonder if you've come across information about progesterone causing dermatitis. I was prescribed the mini-pill years ago and after a very brief time taking it, I had a horrific case of perioral dermatitis that it took me forever to find a cure for. My GP and Dermatologist had no idea and wanted to prescribe a long course of antibiotics. I finally found a cure on an internet forum after searching for many days and hours. I'm now in menopause and taking BHRT and my ears are dry, itchy and flaky inside. I am quite convinced that the progesterone is causing this as my ears had never had any kind of issue before. Google tells me that progesterone may very well be the culprit.
This is something that warrants individual tailoring. You can schedule a consultation with me at MenopauseTaylor.ME if you want my help.
@@MenopauseTaylor I was just curious if you had ever come across this. Thankfully I found something that got rid of it. It’s hard to remember what life was like before the internet! 😁
May I ask what you found that helped you?
You should never care what works for someone else. Every woman has to FIND what works FOR HER.@@never2late2bgreat60
Is so confusing 🫤!!! First the hormones don’t cause BC but later you say that there studies where it says the other way round 🤔😳😏😞very confusing
If you're confused, you need a consultation. That's the only way I can troubleshoot your confusion. You can schedule one at MenopauseTaylor.ME. I do them all online.
I know so many woman who died of breast and uterus cancer without having taken any hormonal therapy during menopause that I don’t know where the truth stands..
The truth makes sense.
if the hormones your own body produces are deadly, why don't we all drop dead in the 35 to 40 years our bodies produce them? Why aren't men accusing their testosterone of being deadly?
@@MenopauseTayloryou are absolutely right! Thank you for your answer. I live in France and here there is still the belief that HRT can cause cancer, so doctors are not keen on prescribing it. Now, I’ll be 44 in 3 months. I have always been very precise and punctual with my periods. Around 2 weeks the first phase and 13 days for the luteal phase. I could even tell which ovary released an egg (confirmed afterwards by ultrasound). Since my period length shifted from 28-30 to 20-22 days, I am experiencing the following:
Pain at the joints, palpitations, anxiety (I am all but an anxious person), sometimes panic attacks, once a memorable night sweat, dizziness, mental fog, sleepless nights, fatigue. But the symptom bothering me the most is a very very low mood, as if I was on a death row 😞 low self esteem, helplessness. I do not have mood swings nor rage. I physically feel that estrogen is missing. That had always been my favourite part of the month, full of estrogen I felt attractive, self confident, full of energy.
My sex drive is lower. I don’t think I am depressed to be honest because my mind would love to do so many things but my body and energy do not follow. I asked 2 male doctors and they said I’m too young for peri menopause. But I feel my estrogen’s level is low. So, for the moment I’m following a very strict diet.
I feel so desperate sometimes wondering whether this is going to be the rest of my life in terms of quality… if that’s so, I clearly prefer to die.
I have always been known as a laid back easygoing relaxed person and I have become the shadow of myself. And I still have a decent level of estrogen.
What do you suggest that I should do, Doctor? Have my estrogen levels checked and once confirmed lower, force my doctor to prescribe me estrogen only? Because I have an uterus, should I ask for progesterone as well?
Thank you very much for your availability and kindness. See? You are in another part of the world and you can’t imagine how precious your work is. How far your effort is travelling to join women suffering.
I also start to realise that I am surrounded by friends (45-46 years old) with exactly the same symptoms wondering if they have a mental disorder, if they have been RAPED when they were toddlers, if they received a voodoo, if they are becoming crazy. At the same time they have frequent urinary infections, problems at their right arm, pain at their joints, mental fog, huge mood swings… rage. And they are nice people! With no estrogen.
So could you kindly tell me what should I try, estrogen + progesterone? Or progesterone only? Thank you very much ❤❤❤
❤
Please explain again what the continuous regimen is
So taking HRT does not increase breast cancer, does not taking HRT increase the rate?
This question does not make sense. Don't flip things upside down. It will only confuse you.
I went back to your lectures on HRT. And listened once again to the risks of not doing HRT. I found the answer I was looking for. I am trying to be a good student.
You are a good student!@@annadavis2547
I was using estrogen daily and progesterone 2 weeks out the month. Is this a safer approach to reduce risk of breast cancer if i cant do continuous? I don’t have a uterus and was using progesterone for insomnia and for balancing estrogen.
Tiffany,
This is precisely the kind of thing for which I do one-on-one consultations. You definitely need one. I cannot tailor things specifically to you in a comment box. It requires much more information than you can give me here, and you deserve much more information than I can give you here. No two women are alike, and addressing your situation requires tailoring all the facts specifically to YOU. I do them all via online video conferencing. You can schedule at MenopauseTaylor.ME. I look forward to meeting you and helping you.
I know im going to be bereated for my comment...but here it goes. I watched one of your videos from a few years ago...my first encounter with you and now i started watching this one. There us a drastic difference in your appearance . It is off putting for someone so health conscious to be willing to inject things intontheir body. Sorry just being honest.
This channel is about YOUR menopause, not about me or my menopause. I hope you can embrace me as your teacher, regardless of how I look.I'm giving you the menopause education you deserve.
I think Dr Barbie Taylor looks great. Let's see how you will look in the future. I found your comment off putting, using your same language, and your comment talks more about you (and your values).
It’s her body. Every person can do what they want with their own body to reflect how they feel about themselves. Receive the education that resonates with you, then move on. We are living in the age of ‘I’ve seen it all’ so just try to be polite and be grateful for what you do learn.
Oh you dam ninny get a darn life for heavens sakes 😤🤦♀️
