      @@ingevonschneider5100HRT is cheap, compared to all the “downstream” costs of the chronic diseases women get much earlier due to their hormone deficiency. Think of the ongoing healthcare costs, including hospitalizations, rehabs, pharmaceuticals, etc of cardiovascular diseases, osteoporosis, dementias, type 2 diabetes, chronic muscle and joint pains and so on. Also, body-identical hormones are not patentable for pharmaceutical companies and not difficult to produce, which means they are, in essence, “cheap” - not much profit in them compared to many drugs for all the chronic diseases in our society nowadays.

    This is so infuriating!! I remember when this study came out, I was in my early 20’s and my mother’s gynecologist immediately took her HRT away from her. She felt miserable and begged her doctor to put her back on her hormones and he refused. She definitely wasn’t the same and my youthful energetic and very healthy mother died of a heart attack 5 years ago and she also suffered from dementia. I always come back to if she was able to keep up with her HRT would she be here with me today. Thank you Dr. Taylor for all your knowledge and sharing it with us.

    So would it be fair to say, based on the presentation of the facts in this video, a plausible answer to the question “Why, why did the WHI lie?” could be: The conscious or subconscious goal of one or more lead investigators of the WHI was to change menopausal women’s healthcare options and thereby the trajectory of menopausal women’s long-term health, well-being, and abilities to function in their lives as they aspired to.
    Taking away power from women for someone else’s gain. (What else is new?)
    And greed, of course. Potentially many fewer menopausal women for medical professionals to profit from, the more women who choose not to live with a hormone deficiency during their final decades!
    And, of course, the fear factor works brilliantly! It creates the intended behavior in most cases.

    I can’t help but wonder what might happen, if the number of menopausal women wanting HRT, based on having full up to date knowledge and awareness, increased drastically … Let’s say within the next 5 years, HT use/demand rose to, say, 70 % of peri- and post menopausal women in the U.S. Would there be “measures”, again, to prevent this scenario from happening? A thought experiment.

    And until today, almost none of the seasoned women’s health and HRT researchers in the U.S. dare to mention the health protective/disease prevention benefits of HT, other than osteoporosis, if we’re lucky! I’m thinking of Drs Joanne Manson and Pauline Macki, for example, (among others - I hope it’s ok to name names here), who I noticed during interviews on the topic of HRT almost “robotically” begin every answer to a question with “If a woman has reason to take HRT because she has hot flashes …” None of them dares to deviate from “the party line”! And these are women! Not enough regard for other women, clearly. They could take a more nuanced approach and use their platform to inform women about some of the positive outcomes of all the non-WHI studies and let women make their own decisions whether or not to take HRT. What are they afraid of? I get it. They themselves are “kept in line by the ever present “guidelines”, if they want to remain in their professional positions. It’s depressing, in my opinion.

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  7 месяцев назад +6

      I know all these people personally. In any profession or industry, there is a "buy-in" to talk the talk, walk the walk, and stick to the party line. Very rarely do you encounter a person who is willing to think for himself/herself and speak in a way that is not in accordance with the party line. "Outliers" like me are not the norm. What is your opinion about the use of the suppliment DIM to prevent breast cancer and reduce size of fibroids...or for hormonal balance and perimenopausal acne??

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  6 месяцев назад +4

      This is not "my opinion." It's just the facts:
      DIM is an acronym for Di-Indolyl-Methane. It is a compound found in cruciferous vegetables, such as broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, and kale. These vegetables are so healthy precisely because they contain DIM.
      DIM is a beneficial substance, and can possible reduce your risk for certain cancers. But this has not been proven.
      DIM is available as a supplement. But the marketing associated with it promotes it as a product that “supports the body’s estrogen balance,” or “provides support for women for menopause, polycystic ovaries, weight loss, and skincare.” All these claims are completely unfounded. DIM has no special significance for menopause at all. This is merely marketing.
      While DIM is not harmful, as with all supplements, you would be much better off just eating the veggies themselves. Buying them in a bottle is a waste of your money.

I always think of what you had said that we use to have a bucket load of eostrogen and now the thinking is a few drops is poison to our systems... With that, curious then... how much estrogen in hrt replacement is too much? or is there actually such a thing? even the 1mg eostrogen patch in comparison to birth control pills is low dose as per your webpage chart.

      Guidelines, my dear, guidelines.
      Most doctors know nothing at all about menopause, so they just follow the guidelines ... all of which were changed to accommodate the fear created by the WHI.
      There is no education whatsoever on menopause in medical school. In four-year OB/GYN residency programs, less than 1% of the time is devoted to menopause. So most doctors know none of the stuff I teach you.

      Probably not. But I'm a gynecologist, not a cosmetologist. And I love the way it feels. I don't expect that most makeup products are very good for your skin, either. They're not made by dermatologists or anybody who knows much about the physiology of skin.@@never2late2bgreat60
