Time to take Andrea out this weekend to the Tastee Freez for her help! I never got into massive systems myself, but appreciate a small bass bump. I usually go for a good head unit with a built in amp and it will do for what I want. Just a good quality sound from my phone so I can listen to Sirius while cruising. The Sony unit unit in my old Wrangler is perfect for top down cruising with the skypod and dash speakers. I just called up Crutchfield and told them what I was after, gave them a budget range and some initial speaker choices and let them guide me through narrowing everything down. First time buying through them and was really happy with the service and pricing.

Man you aint lying that is what we use to do in HS... lol... but I've always had a little system in my truck because like you said it makes it sound so much better... I mean even now and then I'll throw in some hard bass stuff but mostly I just want to hear good sounds. Truck looks totally different with the carpet in there.

By running the front speakers in parellel off of one channel you will only get right or left sound. It won't be stereo and you'll miss out on some of the music especially on songs where sounds move between the left and right channel. Love how everything is all hidden looks clean and I agree with not using a modern unit. Do you plan on running a dsp before the amp so you're able to tune the speakers since you don't have a headunit with a eq?

Parallel will make it 2ohms. Read your sub manual for what output a 2ohm load produces. I think i would use 2 channels for that soeaker.
